We had a lovely stay at Nyl Retreat and the road to get there is mostly in good condition. The surroundings are very beautiful and we walked a lot. We felt welcome and safe all the time and the facilities were as described in the review. The gardens are in good condition and the staff and workers are friendly and helpful. The visit was just what we wanted and we will visit again.
We had a great time in the rondavel. It was well and neatly furnished. The gardens were a pleasure to stay in and the hostess was very friendly and helpful.

Our second visit to Nyl Retreat - we always feel welcome and Laurene is always on hand to make you feel taken care of. The peace and quiet in the evenings at this fuss-free accommodation is really great for "recharging the batteries" and making you feel like you are on vacation even when it is a short stay.
An absolute gem! This truly was a "retreat" for us. We were welcomed warmly by Laurene and the Tarentaal unit was very spacious, clean, and comfortable! We most definitely would recommend Nyl Retreat for fuss-free accommodation. A few minutes away from the town centre and worth the few minutes of travel for the absolutely wonderful calm and quiet vibe. Will definitely return!

The Nyl Retreat is nice and close to Pretoria and in a beautiful area of Nylstroom/Modimole. The garden is beautifully green, the facilities neat and clean. The management is on site, very friendly and involved. The access road is suitable for passenger vehicles with low ground clearance. The site is fully fenced and equipped with security, very safe. There is even a night watchman on patrol. We rested wonderfully, slept soundly and thoroughly enjoyed the silence. It is ideal for couples who want to get away from the city. We will definitely come back again!

Quiet and safe environment. Very neat and well appointed facilities. A TV in the chalet would be a plus. However, there is a communal TV room which is comfortably furnished with full DStv. The service is excellent and the well-tended gardens are a sight to behold. I can highly recommend Nile Retreat.

Was a lovely break. Everything you need and exceeded my expectations.
We were a group of nine adults and six children who stayed two nights for a wedding in the area. Clean and well equipped accommodation in a beautiful garden with a nice swimming pool and sufficient braai facilities. The environment is very quiet and peaceful. We used the sitting, dining and TV room for a birthday celebration for one of the children. Laurene was very helpful and also proactive by, for example, warning in time about load shedding, providing gate codes and small maintenance problems were addressed immediately. We will definitely stay here again.

It is a beautiful bushland setting with accommodation that compliments the surroundings and tranquility. The host/hostess does their best to make you feel welcome. The tarantula unit is clean and neatly equipped with everything needed for self-catering. The private braai and pool are a big plus. If you want to recharge your batteries this is the perfect place.

We were greeted with friendly service upon arrival and immediately made to feel welcome. The chalets are beautifully furnished and so clean! The bedding smells like freshly washed linen, and not a speck of dust on or in cupboards. Each chalet is also nice and private and overlooks the most beautiful gardens. Lush grass grows everywhere and there is even a swimming pool with a small splash pool for little ones. The silence struck us, used to the sounds of city and trucks, it was so peaceful! Will definitely recommend the place and will definitely want to visit again!

We had a great stay and Arend and Suzie are very hospitable and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and satisfied. My only suggestion is maybe a gas heater in the common TV room because it was very cold when we were there and the evenings get long if you can't sit somewhere and relax. Safe and very quiet. Spent two nights at Nyl Retreat. Cottage was spotlessly clean and neat. Service and security was also very good. The first night was unfortunately disturbed by dogs barking. The second night was peacefully quiet.

Nile Retreat is probably the most peaceful place we've ever been. The resort is very neat almost like a little paradise. In my opinion, the chalets are 5-star quality and there is absolutely everything a woman needs in her own kitchen. Even the furniture is of excellent quality and most importantly, the beds you sleep on are 100% comfortable and offer an excellent night's rest. More than three cheers for Nile Retreat and its people.

Everything was in place. The rondavel is neat and tastefully furnished with quality equipment (even a scissors that's not available at all places). Excellent attention to detail with plenty of lights and accessories. On arrival we were kindly received by Rina and Solly. The establishment was clean and well-looked after in spite of the current drought conditions. The garden is full of birds and they area a pleasure to enjoy (also the spotted owl that is breeding in a tree). The jakarandas were fully in bloom and the entrance to the premises has a beautiful view. Definitely very quiet and can recommend the Retreat with my whole heart. Go and have a look!

Can really recommend Nyl Retreat to anyone, the accommodations are wonderfully spacious with everything that may be needed, clean and the daily service is a wonderful treat. With the outdoor shower, as well as extra chairs and tables, you can enjoy the night in front of the bush fire. No long gravel road and very safe, conveniently between Naboomspruit and Nylstroom.

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle this is the perfect place. The shops are also not too far if you need to go. Each chalet also has its own privacy so you are not up on your neighbour's porch.

Accommodation is spotless and beautiful. Besides the wonderful stay we had, we discovered the best kept secret around Nylstroom!!! All the birds from Nylsvley spend the winter months in Nyl Retreatâ??s beautiful tree filled garden. So birders go find them there - there are even owls! Thanks to Rina, Laurene and Sollie. And of course Muffin,(the Jack Russell) that escorted us everywhere while we went bird watching. It was a very special weekend and we will go back in summer to enjoy the garden and birds again.
My children and I had a lovely stay at the retreat. The rooms were super clean. They went all out to accommodate us, together with the additional kids. The reception was just amazing, the team there makes you feel so much at home. We feel that this is a home away from home. :))
