Oakdene is sheltered under Oak trees in the center of town, on the main tourist route and is within walking distance from well-known restaurants to enjoy local wines and delicious Ostrich steaks. Since July 2017 Oakdene is under new Belgian ownership and after a three month complete refurbishment, Oakdene will present itself in its historical Victorian glory.

21 guests' feedbackWe are spoiled! Daniel made us feel like family. The house is beautiful. Our rooms were spacious and well equipped, also with aircon and heaters to help cope with the Karoo cold. The biggest highlight was a breakfast fit for a king! Definitely a treasure we discovered that we will want to return to again and again!
Most enjoyable stay with lovely hosts who did everything we asked for. We cannot recommend Oakdene Guest House enough. The coffee and breakfast were great, the room spacious and big, and the garden green and luscious. We will definitely stay there again.

This historic residence offers a peaceful and pleasant atmosphere to relax. Because the building is so old, urgent maintenance is needed to finish it (which the host said will soon receive attention). The wardrobe in room 2 needs something that smells good, and the bathroom needs better ventilation. The central location contributes to virtually all the attractions in the town within walking distance. We had a good stay!

Oakdene is a well equipped house with hospitable staff, tasty breakfast, nice and clean rooms that are well equipped.
Ideal location with safe parking, this place was a big surprise. Wooden floors and furniture, beautiful décor and atmosphere. The manageress was very helpful after we had to post a parcel from our home, the breakfast was also value for money. Will stay over here again.
We were only staying for one night for a business trip. This was a good place as it was within walking distance to good restaurants for dinner. The host was helpful and friendly and there is free wifi for guests which is useful for catching up on work emails etc.
