On the sunny days we lay so nice on the deck and went for a walk in the mountain. On the rainy days we turned on the gas heater and read a book. The rain falling on the tent gives you goosebumps.
Our stay was absolutely amazing! The place is neatly nestled at the bottom of a mountain. Bliss waking up to nature's music of birds chirping and cows mooing.

We had a wonderful stay. It is the ideal getaway for couples who want to get away from the noise and activity of city life. With the privacy, silence and scenery, it's the best opportunity to connect one on one with your better half (especially if you have children).

Very peaceful and beautiful getaway.
This was the most romantic getaway and that includes our honeymoon in Thailand. Everything was so beautiful. We had everything we needed to have the most amazing getaway. The partying on the weekend from the workers was a little loud, but we understood it is a working farm and we did not see a soul while away. Remember to bring cash to pay for wood or their lovely nuts and olive oils.
We truly enjoyed our stay. The service was excellent.
All the complaints I have, but that's just our opinion. The mattress was just a little hard.

My husband and I celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary and his birthday. We were so impressed with how they thought of absolutely everything. It was really cold but the tent was equipped with a gas heater and electric blanket. The hot tub was amazing. We were in it until the sunset. The shower in the tree was awesome. Hot water made the cold air disappear. The location was a bit off-route but Marinke's directions were great. The place was clean and the finishes beautiful. There is absolutely no signal on the farm but the Wi-Fi was great. She also sent a bottle of bubbly to celebrate our occasions. Definitely going on my list to do again.
We had a wonderful time. It's wonderfully quiet and peaceful. Marinka is extremely helpful, a problem with the induction plate was quickly sorted out! We look forward to going again.

It was one of the best places I have been to. Waking up to beautiful views, birds chirping and nothing but the stillness was just what needed. Our stay was absolutely magical. It is still a working farm and it is the only luxury tent/accommodation. At first you feel like you are on a farm with typical farm sounds, but sunset becomes very quiet and sunrise very beautiful and you feel away from the town. Only thing that affects everyone is load shedding and alternative gas facilities might be good just for boiling water or other needs.
We loved our stay! We chose to spend the last two days of our honeymoon at Patatsfontein and the remote getaway was just what we needed. Forced to relax, unwind and disconnect. Great customer service from the host.
If you want to get away from the noise of the city, this is just the right place. A bit remote but it's worth it. All that's missing is a microwave oven. Will want to visit again.
A reasonably equipped kitchen, great bathroom, outside hot tub and a lovely view makes for a great stay. One can also purchase organic eggs, almonds and olive oil produced nearby. The mattress was rather hard and maybe a mattress topper would help.
We have never rested so well! Would recommend the beautiful spot between the mountains to anyone. The house is so well equipped with lots of "little touches" that make it even more special. Conrad and Marienke are so friendly and helpful!

My wife and I stayed at Oakron for our honeymoon. The communication from Marinke was professional and excellent. The dirt road to the accommodation is in very good condition. We were welcomed at the premises and everything was explained to us. The place exceeded all our expectations. The place is very neat and clean and has all the facilities you need. You can see that effort is being put in here. The outside shower and jacuzzi are wonderful with a fantastic view from the balcony. It is very private and you can just switch off and forget the city life was here. We will definitely be back.
We had an amazing stay at Patatsfontein. The amenities are great and it's just like in the pictures. It was very relaxing and you can hear all the sounds of nature.
We absolutely loved our stay here, only booked for 1 night during a road trip and wished we'd stayed longer. So secluded and peaceful. Absolute must for a getaway for 2. Only hint of advice would be for a slightly softer mattress, it was very firm. Otherwise, absolutely perfect and well equipped for comfort and self-catering.
Oakron is the perfect place for a getaway and so good for the soul! It is private, peaceful and very tidy. Oakron took our breath away with the luxury and comfort and hopefully we will have the opportunity to visit again soon. I would recommend it over and over again!

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights. In that time, the only thing I could possibly complain about is that we didn't stay longer. Everything is absolutely beautiful. I have not felt so refreshed and regenerated after a weekend getaway as I did after staying at Oakron. I can't wait to go back.
They have really catered for everything. Glamping on a whole other level! Heated blankets, fully equipped kitchen, blitz and firewood, coffee grounds, they really did not miss anything. They even pre-heated the hot tub for us knowing we wouldn't have enough time to heat it ourselves since we were only checking in late. They are really great hosts.

All I can say is wow. The place is even more amazing in person than it looks in the pictures. Every thing is so well thought out. You literally don't need to bring anything except what you want to eat and clothes. Marinke and Conrad thought of everything and more. They are so hospitable and friendly. Perfect for a romantic getaway, with the bonus of total privacy. 1000% would recommend it to anyone, and we will definitely go back again.

My husband and I stayed at Oakron for two days and really enjoyed it. The tent is well equipped and clean, it is quiet and private and the view is beautiful. Definitely good for the soul. We had two cold nights, but the gas heater and warm blankets helped a lot. The WiFi is also a bonus. The only pity is that the water in the hot tub outside didn't actually get hot enough to enjoy, I suspect this is because the low temperature outside, but I think in the summer it will be lovely. I would definitely recommend Oakron for a romantic getaway away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Absolutely great! Well done Marinke.
My husband and I stayed 2 nights at Oakron@Patatsfontein. It was a birthday treat for me. The cabin is very well furnished and has everything you need. My suggestion would be to already do all your food shopping and take it with you so you can just relax there and not have to drive anywhere because it's just so nice! We had a great time relaxing and Conrad and Marinke were very helpful with any queries. Will go again for sure!
I would suggest scrubbing the hot tub from time to time. It felt a bit slimy.
