Neat lawn to camp on and the ablutions with camp kitchen are 5-star.
We stayed at Oaksrest Vineyards Gasteplaas for two nights and we really enjoyed ourselves. The beautiful scenery and peaceful sounds of a working farm in the distance made our stay even more enjoyable. The ablutions facilities are some of the best we have ever experienced. We will definitely be returning in the future.

It was fabulously beautiful and a nice campsite. However, the shortage of hot water was a problem for 14 campers. Pitches a bit sloping, but probably for drainage.
Beautiful place. Sorry we had no hot water. Notified the owner that night and still had no hot water the next morning.
Spent a lovely night, and was allowed to bring my Ridgeback with me. A stunning farm with breathtaking views, and lots of walking trails. Accommodation is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Owners are very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely be back!
What a fantastic view from Crimson cottage. Beautiful decor and equipped with everything you need. The friendly and personal reception also made a big difference.
We had a great stay! The unit is excellently equipped with everything you need - including DSTV. Everything was very clean and well prepared for our arrival. The unit has a wonderful view and a beautiful veranda where you can barbecue and eat and look at the mountains.

A true place to find rest for your soul.
This is not your normal campsite. The 4 days we camped (campsite, accommodation and the whole farm incredibly beautiful and tidy) were absolutely heavenly - we rested and relaxed so much. The pond as well as leafy green pitches are a winner. The ablution with kitchen is very comfortable and clean. The walking route to the plateau is about 40 min. 's walk (we are seniors) and the view breathtaking. Feel free to buy some of the friendly host and wife's wine - they even deliver it to your tent if you ask! Nice places to eat in Ladismith - about 10 min. 's row of farm. Oaksrest is highly recommended!
Already looking forward to our next visit. Got table grapes as a gift which shows their willingness to go the extra mile for guests. Took advantage of many photography opportunities. Nice wines for sale at very reasonable prices. Beautiful but challenging hiking trail with a wonderful view from the top of the mountain. Will definitely stay there again.

Will do it again and maybe next time I will bring more people to just take all 5 pitches to camp. The host and his wife are professional and they know what their clients want. Philip made us feel right at home and brought ice and arranged wood. The Pinotage Cottage made me feel like I was staying on my own farm and the luxury and comfort was exceptional. The natural environment was rest for my soul and will definitely come back with my friends and family.

The reception was friendly, we were taken to the hut. The hut was nicely furnished and very well equipped, there was wood, ready in case we wanted to braai, the beds were comfortable and there was plenty of warm bedding. The environment is a pleasure to the eye.

Phillip showed us to our cottage which had everything you’d wish for including a magnificent view of the farm and the mountains. After a hot drive we were happy to swim in the dam with the green lawn and wooden deck before settling down on our stoep with a glass of wine from the honesty bar. We felt safe to sleep with the double doors open to the night sky. We will be back there again for a longer stay!
We relaxed. The only critique is that the unit did not have curtains for all the windows.

What a wonderful gem of a retreat. The location was perfect, the cottage was fabulous and the hosts incredibly friendly. So much to do in the area. The hikes on the farm were challenging, but worth the effort, followed by a swim in the dam. I would recommend Oakrest to anyone. So much peace and tranquillity! We will definitely be back - hopefully soon!

From the moment I paid my deposit until I drove away after my night's stay, everything went smoothly and you are treated like a guest. This place is an absolute gem, tucked away in the valley below Towerkop. The units are fully equipped with everything you as a traveler (business traveler, single traveler, families on a weekend getaway) could possibly need, and much more. The unit where I stayed (Crimson Cottage) was spotless and very tidy. Very comfortably and stylishly furnished, with a very nice large patio. Wood (1st bag on the house, with spare bags for which you pay extra should you have such a good time that you burn out of your 1st bag of wood) is provided with a very nice braai area on the porch and a fireplace inside. Just sitting there on the stoep and breathing in the Klein Karoo's nice fresh air and natural beauty was therapeutic in its own right. I would definitely want to spend the night there again, but also want to go back and take my whole family with me and spend a weekend there. The fact that there is very little to no cell phone reception is an absolute blessing. There is an ADSL router in the unit that provides nice and fast WiFi internet access, should you need it (like I did on a business trip). 10 out of 10 to the owners for the way they have created and maintain this gem!
Neat, comfortable and well equipped! We had such a good stay! The owners are friendly and hospitable and gave us a good reception. For the Pokemon Go enthusiasts, I caught a Snorlax and Chansey there. Both rare. View is beautiful. I can recommend a visit there.

This is a wonderful getaway spot in the Klein Karoo. Phillip and his family have an amazing farm and they really make you feel welcome. I highly recommend this for someone who wants to get away from the rat trip with friends and family. This is a part of the country that I haven't explored that well, and it's definitely worth the drive! They will definitely see me again!

We stayed in the Chenin Blanc cottage and one night was not enough. This is the type of place where you can sit quietly in the beautiful surroundings and find your soul again. Have a nice walk among the vineyards and make a delicious fire with old vines. And always the great Wizard head keeps watch over everything. Wonderful experience that I can recommend with wonderful hospitality!

The house on the mountain is beautiful and the view over the farm is breathtaking. We walked through the vineyards and ate apricots. We will definitely stay there again. There is a lot to do and see in the area.
