We came down for a squash tournament, and the lodge is so close to all the surrounding courts where matches were played. Very nice stay and friendly staff.

Accommodation was good as before. The television did not work. The sink was broken, but the host did replace it the next morning.
My family used the lodge during a recent squash tournament. Location was very good and there was very good security. Breakfast was delicious. The staff even made an effort with extra requests.
There were 6 of us in 3 rooms. Rooms are luxurious and spacious - at a very affordable price! This is for sure our first choice in Bloemfontein from now on. We come about 2 times a year. Friendly service (reception and cleaning staff) and very clean. Also made an effort to get us the best rooms at no extra cost so we could be close to each other. Secure parking. The place is great and have already told the rest of my family who come from elsewhere that they should use this place in the future!

We had a great stay at Oakwood Lodge. Everything was clean and tidy and there was everything in the place you need. We stayed in a small apartment on the first floor and not in one of the ground units. The only negative comment is that it is quite noisy. The corridor echoes when the doors are opened and closed, and the rooms are also not soundproof at all. With the result that the people next door's TV was quite disturbing. I think the ground units will be more spacious and more soundproof.

Nice place to stay. We had 3 rooms and 2 of them were smaller than expected / than in the photos, but it was still big enough for the purpose, very neat and comfortable. Still very good value for money!

Price a good reflection of the quality - noisy hallways make it difficult for those travelling with children. One room was smaller than what we expected.
Booked the standard double inside room. On arrival we were given the smaller single inside room with a double bed squished into it. Our bags had to be stored next to the shower. Very disappointed with the size of the room. Not what we booked.
Not the same room as with the reservation. There was a rumbling just outside the room until 3 in the morning. The power plugs don't work. I had to blow dry my hair in the office. At half past 3 in the morning room 8 entered with music and great noise. It was 2 very restless nights.
Centrally located. Reception was very friendly. The room was very spacious, fully equipped with all necessities for an overnight stay, very neat and clean. Parking for car is safe, just a pity we were advised not to walk up the street to the restaurant (a block away) because security reasons in the evening. It was a pity that several young people were hanging out until late and came in with a noise at 00:00.

The rooms are spacious, with all facilities needed for a comfortable stay. Enough parking space.
The place was very clean and tidy and had everything I expected it to have. Can't complain about anything at all, but can make a suggestion to improve. In the main building I would put things like a treadmill, portraits etc. set up to absorb the sound. When one walks in the corridor on the upper floor, the sound reverberates quite a lot. Other than that, no complaints or suggestions.

Even though we got there late, the person who received us was friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and clean and the beds were very comfortable. It was also quiet there, we could relax.

I can definitely recommend Oakwood Lodge for accommodation in Bloemfontein. They offer excellent accommodation and are nicely centrally located and also have very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was excellent. Nicely close to all the schools and shopping centers. Free WiFi also helps a lot.

Our stay at Oakwood Lodge was very pleasant. Very comfortable accommodation for a family of 4. Neat rooms and very well located.
Location is perfect. We booked for 2 adults and 2 children. According to photos and description on the app there were 4 beds. We only had a double bed and 1 single bed. They did put a mattress in the room. The mattress sheets were very dirty. We only saw it late at night and couldn't ask for other bedding. This is not what we paid for.

This was the third time we have stayed at Oakwood Lodge and their service, accommodation and location are excellent. Definitely recommend them for accommodation in Westedene.
The employees are very helpful and kind. They do extra effort with small things and take pride in the lodge.
Room is perfect, we were there for 4 nights, and they came to clean every day, friendly.
The reception was fast and professional. The room was cleaned every day. We were left alone ─ not disturbed at all by the management of the guest house. There were no other rowdy guests. The guest house is professionally run with several people in service and is close to all the squash courts where my daughter played squash at the weekend. Walking distance from St. Michaels School.

We often stay overnight in places and can definitely recommend Oakwood. The service was fantastic and we were quickly helped with some requests. It's so clean, you can eat off the floors. It's also perfectly located, and the entire booking and check-in and check-out process went smoothly. Thank you! We had a wonderful sleep over.

Spacious, comfortable and secure parking right next to the bedroom. The only negative feedback is that the towels were very old and had small holes here and there and plastic teaspoons.
Good reception, but breakfast was not sacrificed and in the room was 1 rooibos, 1 Ceylon and 2 coffee bags with 2 Ellis Brown bags. In the bitter cold I would have preferred to drink more than one hot cup of tea or coffee, but could not. Asked for fresh milk and lady gave me. Would have liked a bright light by the mirror by the front door, too dark in the corner. Slept very well.
Oakwood Lodge offers real value for money for that stopover without breaking the bank.

There are a few small things that bothered us, but the people are extremely friendly and helpful. Old towels. Our room's aircon remote was gone. It is advertised that there is a 24 hour reception. One morning at 03:00 a car stood in front of the gate and honked for 30 minutes before giving up. No play area for children. Mold on bathroom ceiling. No hangers in closet. Central location. Secure parking. Rooms are clean and tidy. Clothes' laundry service is offered.
We got out and walked up and down the street waving, finally someone in reception saw us. Was just unfriendly with the registration process. Both rooms' DSTV didn't work, one room's air conditioning hey didn't work, we were then moved to another room.
Too few towels for number of guests. We had to ask for toilet paper. There was a coffee table with coffee, sugar, tea etc., but we had to bring our own milk, not used to that for guesthouses. We requested breakfast for Saturday morning, but it was already full. I would suggest that they would recommend take away breakfast, or meal in the room. (Just a suggestion, rather than turning people away from the breakfast table).
From the booking to the extra mattress in the room, everything was a pleasure.
We were really surprised with Oakwood Lodge's location, which is located in a business area, but you don't hear any noise. Sleeping facilities were excellent, I just want to recommend that you only put 1 set of thinner pillows on the beds as well. The staff is professional and friendly. Will stay here again if we are in Bloemfontein.

There was no milk, those bags of milk powder were no good. Only one coffee mug in room. Couldn't make coffee for my husband.
Close to where Medi-Clinic where we wanted to be. Breakfast is decent, rooms are clean and neat.

The lodge is in a good area near a restaurant and shopping center. Staff are friendly but I got an extra bill for meals, breakfast I thought I paid for, but rooms clean and tidy and the lodge is well maintained.
Friendly staff and Oakwood Lodge is truly beautiful. Would only recommend for another blanket or 2 during the cold Bloemfontein nights and maybe a light by built-in table for makeup etc.

It'll help if they pay some attention to the small backyard - just sweep the leaves away and clean the chairs. Leave a note in the kitchen to remind guests that two-plate stoves are available on request. The negative 2015 reviews aren't valid anymore. The facilities are neat.

Could have had coffee/tea/sugar in the room and perhaps a bigger rug/carpet for the cold floor. We thought it was a bed a breakfast booking.
We were first in the honeymoon suite, but then we asked for another room and got a much smaller room. The shower was full of algae. There was no mirror to look into while combing your hair. There was no shelf in the bathroom. Everything was dark, dusty and dull. The curtains looked old, were dusty and did not fit properly on the windows.
