Overnight on the way back home after 'road trip' through the Eastern Cape. One room did not have hot water, but it was fixed the next day. Location is good for sightseeing and parking is sufficient and safe.

Spacious, comfortable and well equipped. It's just a place to sleep, can e.g. not sitting on the porch and relaxing. Feels a bit on the lower town side. It is in a historic town but we were advised not to walk around in the evening. Unfortunately, security seems to be a problem in the town.

The rooms look like the photos and everything was spotless and tidy, with good bed linen. The secure parking and quiet surroundings make it a good stopover after a long day of travel.
Check-in was easy and efficient. Safe, secure parking. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and we chilled at the pool before going out. Nice local recommendations given for local restaurants.

Obesa Lodge surprised us a lot. It was much more than just a place to stay the night. We had a whole house to ourselves with all the kitchen facilities, lounge chairs and dining room table. The neighborhood is so beautiful with the established succulent garden. We would have liked to visit it and needed more time. The places to eat are within walking distance but the cottage was so comfortable we just stayed there. There is also a cozy garden where you can barbecue. We will definitely stay at Obesa Lodge again. The customer service had also been very professional.

The room was big, bathroom had a door (this is important to me but not always so), the kitchenette had everything we needed. We really liked the area where we could sit outside under the trees and liked the security and that there was enough room for cars inside.

Sonja immediately made us feel welcome. She is a good hostess and we had a lovely room. But the neighbor next to the lodge already started a party in the early afternoon with loud music, and he continued through the night until 04:00 in the morning. Apparently it wasn't the first time it happened either. Furthermore, if like me you have a severe allergy to cats, I would rather recommend other accommodation. There are quite a few cats at the lodge.
Only fault, a bigger fridge. Maybe and the plugs that were off more than once. Just take care of it, otherwise no errors. I love it.

We were kindly received and upgraded to a larger unit. Everything was painfully neat and clean. Very convenient to be able to hit the road again at 05:00 the next morning without having to struggle with keys. The water was very brackish, but absolutely understandable due to the drought. We will definitely use Obesa again.

Obesa Lodge will always be welcome. I'm from Graaff-Reinet originally, but was not aware of the beauty of Obesa Lodge. And the succulent and cacti garden right opposite. Just gorgeous.
Obesa gave us value for money. Our place of stay was very neat and clean. We also felt safe and enjoyed the little garden with its selfie layouts.
From the booking, the reception on our arrival at Obesa to our departure the service was first class. Rooms are comfortable and the air conditioning was a relief during a sweltering hot day in Graaff-Reinet. We will definitely spend the night there again on our way to Cape Town.

Graaff-Reinet is a pretty town that is suffering from the drought, but still a good place to visit. The golf course is beautiful and green! The Valley of Desolation is breathtaking and Obesa was just the right place to relax. Will want to visit again. Sonia is a wonderful hostess.

Nice room, well-equipped and not far from the main street in the town. My room was one of a row of about 5, all of which had colourful bougainvillea over the doorways. That was probably the reason that the room was infested by mosquitoes. In the first few minutes of being in the room I could see 6 in the lounge area and 5 in the bathroom - and that was at 3 in the afternoon. The first thing I did was to head out to the supermarket a block away to get some bug spray. Once I'd done that and fumigated the room, everything was fine.
This colourful guest house with all its selfie spots was a huge high light to the children's holiday, the pool was refreshing and the small but private braai area was nice, they will see us again.
Breakfast was a little expensive.
We stayed in the Jade unit, grass green walls, the mattress is softer than a washed out sponge, so you actually sleep on the base of the bed with a cover.

We enjoyed our stay but would have preferred the braai facilities to be closer to 'Flower Power' rather than around the corner. Cleaning staff need to liaise with Maintenance staff so that little things can be repaired as soon as possible and staff to double check that towels etc are correct - we had 2 bath towels not provided but it was rectified as soon as we mentioned it at the admin office.

The accommodation was spacious, neat and clean, and provision was made for the cold weather. Everything was in place and very neat. It was nice to come back after a day of walking around and everything is tidy and there are clean towels.
We stayed in the Familythyme Unit. The unit is very spacious, well equipped and spotlessly clean. There is a swimming pool and free, secure parking. The lodge is in a quiet street, yet walking distance from restaurants and shops. It is close to the Obesa succulent nursery and there are beautiful succulent plants in the area! Sonja made us feel so welcome. I really recommend Obesa Lodge!

This was probably our fourth time at Obesa. The bathrooms are a little primitive, but clean. And we got cleaned up. The price is fine. The location is excellent. We were only 300 m down the road from the Reinet House. And the restaurant, Pioneer, is right in front of the Reinet House. We ate ourselves full! We also had DStv. A fully equipped kitchen and a choice of different braai areas. Thus, I keep on going back!

There wasn't enough hot water for two people to shower the first night. Berries under trees outside were trodden into the unit and there was no broom to sweep it up. Otherwise it was pleasant and we enjoyed it a lot. Thank you so much!
We stayed here at Obesa Lodge for two nights on our way to Mossel Bay to get to know the Graaff-Reinet area better. We stayed in unit "Jade". Each unit has its own color scheme and theme. The units are very comfortable and fully equipped for self-catering. We did make use of the breakfast option as well and it was fragrant, tasty and delivered to our unit deliciously hot on time, the table was ready, just right to sit down. It is definitely recommended to be able to spend more time in the area. Everyone was very friendly and explained to us what attractions there were and where we could also eat. One of the restaurants recommended was "The Coldstream Restaurant". It was definitely a great choice and the warm fireplace with cold and rain outside was another plus. We will definitely come and stay at Obesa Lodge again for a few days to explore the area further. Thank you for your hospitality and great stay.

Nice and secure parking for both our vehicles as well as the camper trailer, which I could even plug in to keep the batteries fully charged. We could comfortably walk to the sights and we could have a nice barbecue outside on a neatly built barbecue with all the necessary accessories. I brought my own wood. My room was on the side of the road, which was a bit disturbing, because you can hear the conversation of everyone who walks by. The staff were friendly and helpful.

LekkeSlaap has made it easy for a person who doesn't know the area at all to make a well-informed decision. The stay met my expectations in all respects.
Reception was friendly, rooms well maintained. Breakfast and dinner were always delicious. The owners were ready in front of us to arrange a vanilla stick. Giraffes, zerbras and deer on the grounds. Beautiful.
Everything was clean, tidy and well laid out. It is good that there is room to sit outside in the cool. The safe parking place reassures you when you come to a strange town. I also appreciated the tourist information, it inspired me to visit the museums and the Valley of Desolation. The only recommendations I can make is to leave the windows open for ventilation, a sink in the kitchen area would also be convenient, and they can inform guests about power outages.
The house is nice and big, well furnished and very central!
After a long day's journey it is a place of rest. Graaff-Reinet is not for young thrill seekers, but has plenty of history for those interested.

The unit was adequate. The pool was lovely, just a shame we couldn't swim after 8pm. The only thing that bothered was the oppressive heat and not enough fans in each room.
Maybe you could put in an air conditioner?
Everything was clean and quiet for a good night's rest. The first night there were mosquitoes, but we come from the Lowveld and know how to get rid of them!
