The stay was wonderful, and the view and location were perfect, but their maintenance needs to be looked at because that's not up to standard.
We were warmly welcomed at the hotel reception. It appears to be more of an apartment/hotel. The apartment/room overlooks the sea and has a nice little kitchenette with a microwave, and coffee/tea facilities, as well as a fridge. The ensuite of one room offers no privacy as it has a glass door with minimal screening. There were notices of renovations taking place, but being a weekend, we were not affected.

Originally they had us on the 1st floor. But the room's window was open to the balcony, and any person could get in there. We could not open the window ourselves. We then asked to be moved. Then got a new room on the 5th floor. What a beautiful sea view.
I will not stay there again. The rooms need attention, the bathroom door would not close, the sink in the bathroom is very small that the floor was soaking wet after e.g. washed your face in the sink. There was no mirror and table/rack in either of the 2 bedrooms to add makeup or hair. The TV's remote was gone and we had to ask reception for another one. All the positive aspect is the bed slept very comfortably.
It was very clean and tidy. There are no pots or pans in the unit. Internet is offered by a coupon. Location is very good.
No. We checked in at 14h45 when they were still cleaning the unit. There were banging noises from the roof all night, so much so that none of the 4 of us got any sleep. The wind was blowing hard and all the windows and sliding doors were blowing through and causing even more noise to try and get less sleep myself. The morning when we checked out and I reported it to reception, the response was just, "eish, sorry".
The hotel is situated in a wonderful place with easy access to the beach and beautiful views. However, it needs a serious update/renovation. Our room was run down and could have been cleaner. We had an adjoining room and could hear everything that the guests next door were doing (and which we definitely did not want to hear)!
Hotel was been repainted so smell was as issue should have been infomed beforehand. wifi was not reliable on and off all the time.
Even with the discounted price, I feel disappointed with the room. No hand towels, bathroom tap was loose & hot water ran from the cold water tap. The kettle tripped the plugs. The fridge wasn't plugged in on arrival. Good points are that the bed was comfortable & the shower was decent. There isn't much noise from the street. Renovations are underway, but that's no excuse. . Desk staff are friendly but feel they must get a lot of complaints.
The place smelled of smoke, which is very bad. There were no dishcloths or dishcloths. Apart from the view which is fantastic, it is a bit neglected inside.

Beautiful views but that is where it ends. I do not know if there are permanent residents that live there, but they make so much noise. At 23h00 every single night, they are moving furniture around with no consideration for anyone below them. The rooms are very outdated. The shower is so pathetic that you have to stand under the water for a long time just to get wet enough to wash yourself. As soon as you enter the room, you are hit by the smell of wet cigarette smoke, even though there are numerous no-smoking signs everywhere. This was my second stay, and I will definitely never stay here again.

2nd Time I use Ocean Breeze. Staff are friendly and helpful. Negative points; guests in adjoining rooms were noisy and it was disturbing. Power points in the room did not work. Reported at 6h00 in the morning and it was fixed. Inconvenient if phone and computer need to be charged and this is not possible. A small 250 ml fresh/long life milk can be added to the coffee/tea station. Coffee/tea with powdered milk is really bad.

It is an old hotel that has been mostly renovated. The location and view are fantastic. The customer service is excellent, fast and friendly. The room is very comfortable with a king size bed and everything you need. The hotel is right next to the sea, just walk across the road and you are on the beach.

It was a fantastic stay at Ocean Breeze Hotel although I was disappointed by the false advertising of a shuttle service, Ocean Basket and Cove Cafe which contributed greatly to my choosing to use Ocean Breeze Hotel's services. Would have liked to thank her myself, but my time ran out. Accidentally forgot my brand new towel there. Large and very colorful towel. Would really appreciate it if it could be couriered to me? Our visit was in July and would definitely recommend that they put a small heater in the room. Somewhere a very cold draft came in and the room was freezing.

Hotel is well located but quite old and standard rooms are very small. We only stayed 1 night on our way to Robertson. For an overnight stop it was okay but personally I wouldn't stay longer.
The whole hotel smelled of smoke. I felt unsafe at the entrance where there were homeless people hanging around near the door.
Room and bathroom were neat and clean, bed very comfortable, but the kitchen and living area need serious attention. The 2 sofas can't seat anyone, old rubbish is lying in the corners of the black and white sofa which doesn't even have all its cushions on it. Looks like leftover furniture thrown together. Kettle didn't work either. Sliding door and window do not close properly and wind whistled through the openings all night. With care and attention it can be a beautiful place.
The hotel was perfect for what we wanted. Just a place to crash at night while we enjoyed the beachfront and restaurants during the day.

First, we didn't get the room we booked. Went to report it and then got another room that looked like one we booked but when got into room they were still cleaning. Then had to sit in reception with our bags and wait. While we are sitting, we get another room a third time and when we get into the room the TV doesn't work and we should have reported that too, waiting 40 minutes before someone came to check. So our experience was not too good. And with each change the room is on a different floor so we had to go up and down with all our luggage between the reception and the different floors where the different rooms were.

Stayed with my husband for business, only 1 night. The entrance is difficult to find. The staff is too many. Especially at the reception. You don't really know who's in charge. Rooms and bathrooms are old and tired. No hairdryer. The chair in our room was so big you had to climb over it to get into the room.
But hotel and building are not up to standard.
First, not the same unit as pictured, much smaller. Kitchen lights don't work, bathroom extractor fan doesn't work, curtains dirty and not fully hooked, cutlery looks like someone has scraped together lots of different types of second hand stuff, different glasses, different coffee mugs. Will definitely not recommend and will not sleep there again myself. TV stopped working next morning, and TV was mounted on the wall horribly crooked. Unit smells of vapor and we had to keep windows and balcony door open to get rid of the smell. Bathroom terribly small and impractical.
Room is full of a mildew smell, the roof and walls are wet, the door is swollen from the water damage, hard to open or close, bathroom extremely small, view is good, but room needs a revamp.

The hotel was a pleasant surprise. It is neat, clean and the staff is very helpful and friendly. We were private with a lovely patio overlooking the sea. Ocean Basket was a very nice restaurant. The unit was serviced every day and the staff were so prompt they immediately picked up when we forgot a shoe bag. Within half an hour they called us and we were still able to pick it up on time.
Parking is secure, service is top tier. Reception assisted us in a well, friendly manner. The view is beautiful and I would highly recommend this hotel for a getaway.

We were given a basic room with a small fridge, microwave and cutlery piled on top. The bathroom is old, but neat. The room's space compares well with guesthouses charging the same fee. The sea view made up for a lack of finesse in the hotel. Corridors are raised so there is noise when other guests enter or leave. Hotel staff responded immediately to a request that other guests on our floor were noisy. A plus point is secure parking in the hotel's parking garage. Hotel is not walking distance to restaurants in Seepunt. Ocean Breeze was a good choice for overnight stay. Thanks for the cleaning service, even on a Sunday.
As I travel for work, there is nothing worse than not being able to take a shower due to the lack of warm water. It was my second stay and second bad experience. Reception staff are amazingly nice and friendly, so thank you for making me feel welcome.

Want to prevent if there are no tobacco smoke alarm sensors in room. Only after third room option could find one that didn't have bad smell of smoke. Smoke seeped into curtains and as soon as vents/sliding door is open smell is prominently present in room.
We were quite surprised! Have read some negative reviews on this hotel. It's nothing like those reviews had said. We were supposed to only sleep here for 1 night. We were so impressed by everything that we booked an additional night. And we are all ready planning another trip to this hotel later in the year.

With load shedding, the Hotel switched on its own system. So no inconvenience with load shedding when it comes to light, but other items that work from wall plugs. Just take a corkscrew with you or ask for a receipt. Nice sea view.

The room is not up to standard, not for the price per night. There was something spilled on the sofa, it could have been cleaned. The sink faucet in the bathroom is very loose. The small fridge in the kitchen is very old, I wanted to open the fridge when the fridge moved forward from the cupboard. We booked for three nights and only stayed one night. The room really needs attention. We have stayed at many places for the same price and got better value for our money.
They can do some maintenance. Drain was blocked in one shower and everything was under water.

Room was cold and some lights were not working.
Two wall plugs not working, ceiling fan was loose, too big of a risk to use, bathroom tap was loose. The rooms are very small compared to pictures advertised. The hall ways had a weird smell and looks very dated (vintage).
Faucets in bathroom were broken, TV network in room not working. Toilet leaking, mattress in room was hollow.
The room that was assigned looked nothing like the photos on the website. The cupboards were raw pine wood painted grey. The bedside lamps did not work, you had to switch the main bedroom light on to switch the bathroom light on. The kitchen cupboards were also raw pine painted grey! The kitchen cupboards smelled of mildew. Nothing in the kitchen matched, not the cutlery, glassware, nothing! The bedside cupboard was right up against the wardrobe so you could not use the safe nor that part of the cupboard.
Was a nightmare, was put in a wrong room. Was only fixed after complaining. Floor was not clean when walking to the rooms. Smoking was a big problem in the hotel. Need to complain about the smoke. Not acceptable to put a guest in the wrong room. Did not even offer a coffee for the mistake and upsetting a guest.
Bathrooms at reception discusting, took pictures. Parking a big problem, I had to move my foot gear three times.

The duvet had a hole in and stains on, I also found a pubic hair in bed (not ours). The downstairs bathroom in the lobby was a complete mess on the Sunday morning when we went for breakfast, it was stinky and looked and felt like a low grade public bathroom.

The only problem was that the cutlery and crockery are not up to standard. Three small cups, no coffee cups. The cutlery was not as it should be and spoons were missing. Furthermore, the room's sliding door had difficulty opening and closing.

The hotel has a very nice view and is very well located, but the shower was very poor, you can't even wash your hair. The hair dryer didn't work either, but they then brought us a working one.
A few things could be improved - communication about check-in and the maintenance of the rooms. The window in the bedroom is locked and there is no key to open it for fresh air. The wall plugs in the kitchen kept going off and we had to ask to exchange the faulty microwave. There is no chair or bench on the veranda to enjoy the view. However, there is generally a nice atmosphere and it's comfortable with the Ocean Basket restaurant available. The toilet space is very small and uncomfortable.

Disappointing accommodation, not according to pictures. No kitchen towels or dishwashing soap. Coffee and tea provided for 1 person only. Restaurant and bar closed at 18:00 - so no room service. Staff friendly and helpful.
Room not cleaned with stay. No bath mat, no clean towels every day, have to handle own trolley with luggage.
Was only disappointed that the WiFi was down as we didn't check in until 8pm in the evening and by Sunday morning the WiFi voucher had stopped working.

I booked a One Bedroom Unit Sea Facing and the room I received was very definitely not like the internet photos. The one closet can't even open because the bed is too big.
The curtains are drooping, the bedside lamp's bulb does not work, the hand washing soap in the bathroom does not spray, the towel rail falls off. For the amount one does not expect such frustrations. A lot of light also comes in at night through the white curtains. Will definitely not recommend or go back.

We enjoyed it so much we stayed to attend a wedding. Room was neat and clean with a great view as they upgraded us to a sea view room.

The hotel's location is fantastic. There are only a few things that were a little unpleasant. The parking: We were cornered and it was difficult to get in and out. Kitchen facilities are not at all to be desired. No teaspoons or dishcloths. No detergents to wash dishes with. Management will definitely have to look into it. Otherwise our stay was pleasant. The sea view is fantastic.

The hotel is okay. We paid just over R1000 for 1 night and we received a room looking like a downgraded backpackers lodge. This was a rip off to say the least. I questioned whether our room (Nr. 108) was cleaned properly, that being said the staff was friendly and happy to assist.
Somewhat thought through the website I can trust the accommodation, but the windows couldn't even close so people could come in from the street and the reception is on the second floor and the elevator is not working well. Was so bad that I booked somewhere else and lost R800.

Sea-facing room up to date and clean, spacious and bright. The sliding door did not open, I was unable to go out onto the patio to see the spectacular views. The kitchenette was a disappointment. Insufficient cutlery, no kettle, cups without saucers, pot with no hotplate.

The bed was too big for the room, the cupboards couldn't open. Found a worm on the floor. We had no food in the room or the kitchen. We only had one coffee cup and one teaspoon. There were 2 bowls, but one is used for the sugar and coffee sticks. There were no porridge bowls, but two other bowls that were too small for breakfast. There was no flatsheet on the bed. The sink was clogged. There was no dish towel and the passage smells like smoke.
Nice and clean room, but the service not the best. Parking was also extra which was not mentioned during the booking.
Don't advertise a place with a kitchen if there is almost no kitchenware/equipment. Although there is a pool, most people will not use it because the people eating at Ocean Basket overlook the pool.
Will not recommend hotel or use again in future. Quite expensive and really expected better service!
I would not easily recommend anyone to stay at Ocean Breeze. The photos on the website are not what is really at the hotel. Room for 2 has only one towel. Most of the cupboards in the room are locked. Beds were very uncomfortable to lie on as they are two single beds pushed together. Bathroom didn't have a door. The safe did not have a key. The cleaners just made the bed. Towel was not replaced with clean towels. I would recommend the restaurant even less as I received a drink in a dirty glass.
The facility is quite old and needs an urgent "face lift". Only Netflix is available as TV and DStv should be there. Dinnerware glasses and crockery are scanty and old. For a facility with no dining options (Ocean Basket excluded), the food preparation equipment is extremely minimal (no stove or oven. Only microwave). I wouldn't bother going again.
It's supposed to be a three star place. However, it seems and feels the place has done better at some point, but now they are cutting costs - in the wrong places. The parking is at the back, under the building behind a security gate. It also serves as a storage space for old/broken furniture. There is no DStv. The gap between the room door and the floor is almost three centimeters and the wind blows through it. The safety mechanism inside the room door was broken. There are two cups, one saucer and one teaspoon in both the double rooms where we stayed. The headlamp's head was broken down. The headboard of the bed slams against the wall every time you move. Only one of the two lights in the bathroom works. The shower's floor is dirty and there are marks on the toilet's lid. The pipe on which the shower head is seated slopes down to the extent that you have to bend over to get under the shower. There is no soap tray to put things down nor a mat to step out on when you come out of the shower. The view includes more storage space for broken furniture on a veranda at the bottom. The other room had similar "surprises". On a positive note, the towels and bedding were clean.

The view from the rooms is an experience, and the waves that you can clearly hear breaking at night, definitely my favorite! I will definitely be staying there again soon.

The room is beautiful and has all the necessities. A uniform for the staff member at reception would create a good impression.
The rooms are clean, modern and tidy and the view is beautiful but unfortunately there was no power in our room and everything was already unpacked. We had to pack our travel bags again and move to another room. Furthermore, there were no problems.
The room was clean, but slightly tired with a loose sink and faucet and a vanity surface full of scratch marks. The duvet cover was torn.
Air conditioning in bathroom does not switch off and is disturbing throughout the night. Sink pipe flooded in bathroom. Bedside lights don't work. Cutlery and coffee poorly equipped.
Friendly welcome on arrival. Parking arranged and luggage taken to 112. The room looks nice, but the one bedside light did not work. Phone to reception did not work and then had to report to reception. The problem was then solved by a friendly person. The curtains had dirty spots. The bathroom is generally fair, but in the area by the bath, the black and mold spots looked really bad.
My fiancé and I had a very good stay at Ocean Breeze Hotel and intend on going again.
Would recommend anyone to stay there.

Ocean Breeze is nice overnight place. But a bit expensive for what you get. Basins in bathroom don't have plugs since my first visit. TV in lounge have basically no channels and the large TV is in the bedroom. Not practical. But still a nice destination.
Sleeping facilities good. Good quality pillows and bedding. Close to everything. It's just very noisy. Workers shout from windows at the people down on the street at 05:30 in the morning.
Ocean Breeze Hotel is almost on the beach with a beautiful sea view and safe undercover parking. The reception was friendly, but the room we stayed in had old furniture and we were grossed out by the couch because it had stains on and didn't look clean. The maintenance is also not very good, because there are lgiths and plugs that need attention. There is a safe, but the key is bent and we couldn't get it open for our use. The kitchenette has a fridge and basic, but old, facilities for self-catering. It would have helped if they provided dish towels and perhaps a bit of dishwashing liquid. The bathroom is big and the beds are comfortable. This hotel's star grading needs to be revised because you expect more for what is indicated.
The reception was very good. Was a little disappointed in the maintenance of the place. First of all, they can upgrade the hotel a bit, color the rooms more. The bed was not a king-size but 2 single beds that were pushed against each other and it was uncomfortable. We did make the most of the time. I think it was not really value for the price we paid.
Not impressed at all. Rooms half cleaned. Had a sea view unit, paid R1300 per night and there wasn't even an oven/stove. Hotel itself is not bad, but it doesn't offer value for money.
Very tiny room full of cockroaches. Pillows smell bad. Bathroom tiles are full of mildew. Door to room next door did not have a lock and is kept closed with toilet paper between the door and the frame. Stay away!
We booked the place for the kids, but they only gave us one single-bed duvet and a pillow, no sheets or linen for our second child. They had to sleep on a sleeper couch that was very dirty. We arrived very late because of a family event and couldn't. Also not enough parking space in the basement. Very disappointed. When we checkd-out they even insisted we pay outstanding fees even after we paid a deposit and all fees were paid when we fetched the key.
We enjoyed our stay and the staff were friendly and accommodating.
Personally I think they should at least put hand wash soap by the basin. The holders for shower gel/shampoo and body lotion is pathetically small for 2 people who might want to shower before bedtime and again in the morning. The floor of the room was also a bit dusty.
Friendly reception, but was disappointed in the room seeing as how it does not have DStv and also no heaters, warm blankets or aircon.
Beds are uncomfortable and no bedding was provided to us for the baby's bed. Toilet seat broken and poor quality toilet paper provided. Noisy neighbors through the night.
