The owners provide fantastic service and the facilities are all you need with extra treats such as coffee, milk and wine.
Yes a lot. Porch light was out of order, TV's DStv off at one point. Lots of stairs were a bit demanding. Further if right.
We really enjoyed the beautiful view from our unit. The large verandah was also lovely. The bedroom was nice and cozy and we were happy that with the cold weather, we were able to watch DSTV and have access to WiFi. The kitchen has all the utensils needed. We had a lovely peaceful stay there. We were a relatively short distance from the shop and the beach which was great. The only issue was all the stairs but we realised that we were a level up and had to get there to enjoy the view.
Great 2 days away from it all. The instructions were excellent, no problems with check-in. Beds sleep great and apartment very well equipped.
Well-equipped including 2 air-cons which saved me from the humidity when there wasn't load shedding! Complimentary wine was a nice touch.

Really enjoyed our stay. Good view from the deck, not too far to walk to the beach, and Dave is a lovely host.
For the 2nd visit the owner was again not available. After many calls, he finally answered his phone and gave the gate code. At least I was received by the painter. Load power from 17:00 to 19:30, but the site's electricity did not come back on. After many calls, WhatsApp messages, Dave was again unavailable. No emergency lights or candles available. The next morning the site's power was still out and the caretaker had to come and take the gate off the gate car so I could drive to my appointment. Disappointing!
The gate closed by itself while we were reversing into the yard and I scratched my car on the boot and the bumper, not happy about that at all. Car is still new, only 5 months old.
There were cockroaches. The bathroom was poorly finished. The waste in the shower and the drain pipe under the basin - absolutely offputting, worst experience ever. The hot/cold shower controls both came off in my hand on the first day. I put them back and kept pushing them in so they wouldn't fall out again - honestly?! Just not acceptable. In this day and age, how do you justify not having hot water in the bathroom basin? The two-plate gas stove - without an oven - was ok up to a point. We could not bake any food?! There is a gap at ceiling level between the unit and the space next door. In the morning, we could hear people running water, brushing their teeth, etc. nextdoor? Sorry, not the way it's done, guys. They may as well have been in our kitchen and it wasn't private enough. You know it's not acceptable - I don't need to tell you. Toilet and cistern were very clean - looked new, in fact. Thank goodness. The cupboard/wardrobe in the bedroom makes little sense. Only one side works?! The other side does not open?! So we didn't bother to unpack as there was too little space for two of us. The driveway was a challenge but we managed. Solar power was great! You cannot call that little "monitor" a TV - we may as well use a laptop. The location is brilliant: so close to the beach and to the mini-market. Very, very convenient. We loved being able to see (albeit very limited) and hear the sea! Sitting on the verandah reading was great. Must be amazing upstairs, above Dolphin! The cleaning lady was just too wonderful! What a sweetheart! Overall, we felt overcharged and hoodwinked. R950 for that is not right. But that said, we loved Zinkwasi (have been many times!) and made the best of the disappointing accommodation. We would definitely not risk ever recommending Ocean Rush Dolphin to anyone. Apologies if this offends. That is not the intention. Hopefully, the place can be made less rustic, etc.
I made a date mistake with my booking but wasn't a problem for Dave. I was still received kindly and even though I was 1 day early according to the reservation, the room was already prepared and everything was tidy.

Definitely value for money.
We stayed in the Seagull unit for 2 nights. It's lovely, really spacious with everything you need. The air conditioners in the rooms are a welcome bonus and we could see that the owners go out of their way to ensure the comfort of their guests even with small details like dishwashing liquid provided. Dave immediately send me all the info needed once I'd booked and made himself available if we needed anything. The deck and view are amazing and that alone is worth a visit. 10/10.
We had a wonderful experience at Ocean Rush, from beginning to end. Truly appreciated the unexpected upgrade. Communication with Dave was excellent, venue was absolutely superb. Truly looking forward to visiting Ocean Rush and Zinkwazi again.
My stay at Ocean Rush, was same as my home. Everything was available to suit my needs. It was relaxing after a long drive. It was an ideal place to stay for my family and me.
