The beds and apartment were suitable for the purpose of stay. It had everything required for self-catering requirements, and availability of a small pool in the complex and access to the hotel pool was a bonus. Can do with air conditioning, but they did provide us with a fan on request.

Smooth hassle-free check-in. Online booking is cheaper than at the desk. Lovely and clean non-smoking room, clean towels, and complimentary coffees in the room. Quite central to Mossel Bay and surrounds.

Was relaxing, but attention certainly needs to be paid to general upkeep and maintenance. The headboard had stains and generally looks like it is a little run down. Pity, it really can be a nice place. The pool has too much acid in it, which burnt my eyes.

Overall a lovely hotel. Had a very welcoming reception at check-in. Room was very clean and would certainly stay here again. One little criticism would be that the breakfast area needs new coffee cups! The ones there were way past their best-before date. time to retire those very old and well used cups!
I'd done a fair bit of travelling and was so relaxed and comfortable at Oceans Hotel that I decided to stay on for an extra 2 days.
We had a great stay and the shower pressure was great. The photos, although accurate to a degree, are a bit deceiving as things look much older on arrival. Everything was still clean and presentable though.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was neat and clean with all the necessary as expected. It was very easy to find Oceans and it is located near the main routes.

The staff was friendly and helpful, the cottage was lovely cozy and warm lots of heaters lol which was perfect coming from a wet and cold Cape town. . The only downer, the wifi was too slow when everyone was on it and we were only 4 persons and the Tv still has only SABC channels. . But in overall the place felt like home, still the same back when we were there in 2019 not many upgrades but alot makes up for that.
The food at their restaurant is tasteless and too expensive and is cooked in the microwave. I'll never eat there again. The Wi-Fi password did not work.
Close to shopping center and beach. Good getaway opportunity. Here and there can be upgraded. Shower does not have a door that closes. Window to the street does not have only front curtain. Curtain must close when you dress. Otherwise good time.
Was good, the problem is we booked for 6 people and 2 of the kids had to sleep on the sleeper couch. Also, there was no communication about WiFi. The TV did not even have Netflix or Disney Plus.

The ground floor room we had was facing the main road. We were warned to keep our security gate locked at all times due to easy access by thieves from the bush across the main road. The room's condition was fair. An inward room facing the pool would have been a better choice.
Poor customer service at reception, apartment was in poor condition. The wooden walls pull apart from each other. Only one toilet for an apartment of 6. Poor braai facilities, outside lights of apartment were out of order. The facilities are too poor for the price paid.
It was more than I have expected. The extras like the fridge, coffee etc. was welcomed. It was clean, everything was working. Felt save, I will recommend it to others.

I didn't stay there myself, made a reservation for a family group of 9 people. They really enjoyed it, it's clean and comfortable and close to walking or jogging on Diaz beach.

The location is great. The building, rooms and facilities are very old and in need of attention. The WiFi is too slow to use at all. There is tremendous noise at the pool area and around the hotel.

After a long 4 hour drive we arrived at Oceans Hotel only to be booked in a dirty bird poo infested unit. Immediately requested to cancel only to hear the manager is on leave till Monday and was unable to refund due to being on leave. Luckily the kindest receptionist managed to book us 2 2-sleepers resulting in my family being split up. This after I booked and payed for a self-catering 6 sleeper. Ultimately the front desk lady saved our stay and we are forever grateful to her. The 2-sleepers were clean and comfortable.
The kitchen staff wore no protective clotting and we found hair in the beans we ordered. The chicken livers tasted horrible.
The bed slept very well, I wish I could take the bed home with me!

Booked room was not available due to burst geyser. Alternate room has water damage, etc. Not at all what we expected. Due to poor organization they had us park in the wrong place. The parking attendant knocked on the door at 10:00 p.m. He was drunk and cursed us. We actually wanted to drive after the incident. It was an unpleasant experience.
Would not recommend it. The drunk people's loudness at the bar was too much for me. I left earlier.
Everything was perfect except that we had to shower with cold water and the weather was freezing. My husband was very disappointed.

Upon arrival at the hotel, we were warmly welcomed and escorted to our room by helpful service. Breakfast coupons were given free for the 3 morning meals. I would suggest anyone to book there. It's centrally located and you're close to everything. Will visit Oceans Hotel again soon.
Our stay at Oceans Hotel was wonderful and I would recommend it to any family needing comfortable, clean and centrally located accommodation. The staff are extremely professional and helpful and everyone is very friendly at all times. They go out of their way to accommodate guests with special requests. So e.g. we had to check out early (as per their policy), but our flight back JHB wasn't until early evening, yet they offered us a budget room (without costs) to quickly shower and get ready before we left. All our luggage was safely stored for us so that we could fully enjoy our last day in Mossel Bay. Thank you Oceans Hotel and all the staff, we will definitely see you again.

We stayed there for two nights 19 years ago and we were already impressed with everything then. After 19 years I was still impressed this way around.
It was a good hotel with good service, only the buffet dinner was not what we expected.

I have stayed there many times and would never stay anywhere else in Mossel Bay.
Clean and tidy room, very good value for money for dinners, where else can you get a buffet meal for R75.
The self-catering accommodation is behind the hotel. Safe parking. The flat was spacious and neat with everything you might need. We could see only a small bit of the sea between all the roofs. So we didn't really have a view. The water park is across the busy road so we had to accompany small children across the road. Very neat with daily cleaning services.

The location was ideal for our needs. Very fast up and down N2. The place was clean, and experience very positive. Was particularly impressed with the options of meals available at a very reasonable rate. Service was of high quality.
Service was very good, neat and clean. Had a problem with the fridge, they brought a new one immediately. Will just suggest that they invest in better fans or air-cons, rooms and house is very warm in the evening and that makes it difficult to sleep without the above mentioned. Other wise everything was excellent.

Recommended. Clean and neat with friendly service, neat swimming pool and gardens. Walking distance from Diaz Beach with water park (about 500 m) and easy to drive out to other beaches like Mossel Bay, Santos or the Point and Hartenbos. Close to N2 highway with route to Oudtshoorn, Little Brak, Groot Brak, George (about 40 km), Wilderness (55 km), etc. Close to shopping centre.
The room wasn't very clean. It is something that can be corrected with better houskeeping supervision. Otherwise it is a lovely hotel and we would like to stay there again.
The only problem I had was that there were always noises early in the mornings between 1h00-2h00 when guests arrived. Then I was woken from a good sleep. Otherwise I enjoyed it.

Well situated. Initial welcome was met with an incorrect account statement which was quickly resolved. Good breakfast but evening restaurant service very weak. Waited 30 minutes for coffee. Lost appetite and went to The Star Restaurant for a meal instead. Room was comfortable but shower did not work.
We travel quite a lot, and the room was just too old-fashioned. There were stains on the couch and rugs, and the beautiful stone tiles were painted. We wanted to drink bear at the bar but you have to walk far just to smoke that we went somewhere else. The receptionist and the breakfast was excellent. Great for a place to stay the night. Not ideal for holidays.
Most uncomfortable bed I've ever had to lie awake on. The heater was too small to heat room. No WiFi.

Everything was as you advertised it on the web page. Thank you very much. I can only perhaps suggest that you provide still water in small bottles for the guests in the fridge every day. About 2 more braai places were short for our unit and the guests opposite.

Cottages was fine for our families - we were 2 adults and 3 children - ages 15, 10 and 7 (all girls), our friends also 2 adults and 3 children - ages 17, 15 and 12 (all girls) but the sleep was a problem. We had to ask for another available cottage for the eldest 3 children to sleep in. Luckily there was a cottage available and all was then fine. Young lady at reception was so warm and welcoming! Had a real good laugh with her!
Was really pleasantly surprised by the whole view of the hotel when we arrived. The rooms were neat, clean and modern. The breakfast was well planned and delicious. Everyone was very nice and helpful.
The self-catering unit in the back block could be better equipped. No mirror in the room and no ironing facilities. However, requests for these items were quickly responded to by the helpful personnel. A very comfortable stay was enjoyed.
I would recommend any prospective clients to use the Oceans Hotel in Mossel Bay.
I recommend that there should be bedside tables and a reading lamp next to the bed. The TV can also be placed so that you can watch from the bed. There should also be space for your toiletries next to the sink in the bathroom.

The bathroom and doors need attention. On day 2 my interview with Rietjie in the kitchen, wanting me to pay extra for breakfast which was charged and paid for the previous day, was not in good taste. Your menu pricelist in the room for the restaurant was outdated, dirty and torn. I have photos to send should you require proof.
The staff are very friendly, except the lady at reception when I checked in and checked out. The rest of the staff is very friendly and professional (restaurant, reception, cleaners, etc.).
The room is just very hot and it makes it very uncomfortable.
We stayed in the Budget Room for the weekend. It was cheap and we got the price's worth. Unfortunately, we were more annoyed by the cockroaches sticking out everywhere than the back room location, but luckily we weren't in the room too much. The rest of Oceans Hotel was very nice, so a better room might have been a better experience.
We have stayed in many hotels and guesthouses and we know the standards of places to stay. If I recommend someone to spend the night here, I will inform the person first, and not advise to eat there. (The receptionist should only believe her guests in the first place if they mention to her that something in the unit is wrong, and not pretend they are telling her a lie.) Then no imagination is used to prepare light dinners to prepare and serve. Everything was served from supermarket fast food containers (samoosas, spring rolls, and small pretzels with a hot pepper sauce). We really thought it would have been prepared by the chef. It was disgusting!
Mossel Bay is picture perfect, but I would prefer to book closer to the sea instead next time. I don't want to have to drive to the beach with a car full of stuff. It's just too much trouble. The room we were in at home was not private at all. I also prefer a place that separates the children from the master bedroom. Thank you.

The Oceans Hotel is located in a very safe area in my opinion. The staff, including the cleaners on site, were friendly and very helpful. The hotel has a beautiful clear blue clean swimming pool which looked so inviting but due to my short stay I was unable to enjoy it. My family and I agree that we will definitely stay there again if we visit Mossel Bay again. Will recommend the Oceans Hotel to my friends and family with the utmost confidence. Your service is excellent, and we thank you for the comfortable room we had, and the cleaning of the room on a daily basis. The staff can be trusted 100% only in rooms with valuables! And that gave us more peace of mind.
It was a very nice experience. The room is very neat and clean. The site is just as clean and very nicely laid out. All that hindered a bit is that there is not a lot of secure parking. But it was a great experience regardless.
For my purposes, the hotel met all my requirements. Within walking distance of where I had to work and a clean room.

We only missed facilities such as a kitchen for making our own food as well as an extra loose sofa to relax on. Otherwise we had a nice stay.
Our 84 year old mother was with us and we battled to get her over the little bridge by the pool and there was only railing one side where there should have been both sides she had to use a crutch and bee assisted by us as the ledge to the bridge both sides was too high and the access to rooms shout have a ramp and no steps your ramp on the other side is far too high a slope and one with a walker or wheel chair cannot manage on there own.
The drain in the kitchen smelled really bad and after reporting it, still nothing was done about it. The microwave did not work and the one window almost fell out when I tried to open it. We were told that we would have WiFi in our room, but there was no reception.
Too much noise from inconsiderate staff and neighbors from 5.30am.
Would not recommend for a vacation or longer period. The restaurant is neat, but disappointing. Most items on the menu and wine list were not available.
No rest for vacationers staying longer than one night...
Perfect stop over when in Mossel Bay - central to everything. We had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant and their meals are the best we have had! A few other resorts can certainly learn something from the staff here - every one of them was so friendly and helpful which all made for a pleasant stay. As we travel the route to Mossel Bay often, we will definitely make use of this resort again.
