Each cottage is comfortably furnished and ideal for relaxing and enjoying the surrounding countryside. Grannies Cottage is a small cottage with 2 en-suite bedrooms, and a kitchenette and lounge area with a fireplace. Oumas Cottage is a 4-bedroom cottage with 2 bathrooms. Each cottage is equipped for self-catering with a fridge, an oven and stove and a microwave.
The farm is ideal for hiking, bird watching, and mountain biking, followed by a few drinks round the fire. You can choose from a wide range of both gentle and more strenuous walks and hikes. The trails are not marked but you can easily follow cattle trails or vehicle tracks, using the cattle gates to move from one field to another. Farm gates must be closed and dogs are to be kept on a leash if cattle are nearby. Look out for abundant wild flowers with over 200 species in the area, including orchids, pelargoniums and wahlenbergias.
The greater Dullstroom area is a birders paradise, and is home to over 300 species including 3 species of the endangered South African crane. Bird lists are available in the cottages. Dullstroom is known for its high-altitude training and offers some challenging rides both on the property and in the nearby area.
The farm dates back to 1879. A Catholic church was built by the family in 1952 and services are still being held every first Saturday of the month.

14 guests' feedbackWhat a lovely place! We had such a lovely time, the fishing was tough but stick it out, and you figure them out.
It was the perfect long weekend. We enjoyed it incredibly much.
We had a very relaxing stay on the farm. We were able to walk for ages around the farm. There is a lot of bird life at the cottage.
We had a wonderful stay in Grannies Cottage! The hearth was already lit on Friday evening, because it was very cool in the area. The farm is quiet and without TV or WiFi, and you can recharge your batteries peacefully. It's nice to see the cattle and just experience farm life. And my constant cough was much better from the clean air! It was quite an experience to visit the road cafe, and the busy Hungry Otter in Tonteldoos, only 3km from Grannies Cottage. Unfortunately, the road is really bad for city cars, but our vehicle is tall and could handle the dongas.
We had a great stay, we also took our 2 x Scottish Terriers with us. They also really enjoyed it - but I prefer that the cottages only had a fence so that our dogs could be separate from the other guests' dogs. It is very close to the main house. But the place is beautiful, my husband really enjoyed the fishing. If you like a few days without "screen time" this place is perfect. Thank you very much for the nice stay.
Beautiful and peaceful. The dams are not within walking distance from the accommodation.
O'Grady's farm is a beautiful place with a wonderful little history. We went with our 2 x 3-year-olds and 1-year-old baby, and the space and freedom were next level. Sometimes you go away and end up being more tired because of travelling, sightseeing, and being on the move - the O'Grady's farm is not that. It is a break in its truest sense. Thanks, Alan and Riette for your hospitality and being welcoming.
Very calm and quiet. No light or noise pollution. Nice to know farm or area. Very weak cell phone signal, makes it even better.
Was nice to have zero mobile reception for a change. will go in 4x4 or higher clearance vehicle next time.
A great place. We did have a slight plumbing issue, but that is being sorted out after our feedback. A great house for 2 families of 4.
I don't believe you can find a better place to relax in nature like this. The tranquility and farm life is something I have not experienced before.
Cottage is very tastefully furnished with everything you need. Ideal for breath taking, comfortable farm roads for walking or mountain biking and beautiful landscape. Reinette, the hostess, communicates well and makes sure you have everything you need. For a fixed fee there was plenty of firewood and the fireplace made for nice warm and cozy evenings. Weberbraai was also a winner and we were able to make a roast for Father's Day. Although the ponds are not close, the fishing was good and for the first time in years my husband was able to catch trout again. The Tonteldoos road to the farm is very bad so make sure you have all the necessities for the time you stay there and don't plan for a quick trip to town and back. If you plan to spend a lot of time in town, better look for a place in town. But, if you want to get away from the city's business and noise, O'Gradys is five star.
Clean, secluded, everything available.
The place itself is 100%, but the road to it is really rough. So if you have a 4x4 vehicle, it's not a problem. It is truly secluded, truly peaceful and quiet. Incredibly beautiful. The high field at its best. After 3 nights it felt like I was gone for 3 weeks. The accommodation is well furnished, very clean and tidy with everything needed. Ideal if you are stressed out and just want to find yourself again. No TV, no radio and signal only now and then in certain places! But absolutely worth it.
