The small swimming pool in the shared courtyard on the property was a huge bonus, since there are no other designated swimming areas in Port Owen, and the West Coast in January was hot. The accommodation was lovely, thank you! Hope to see you again soon.
We had a very relaxing and peaceful experience. If you are looking for a place to rest, this is the place for you.
Place is in a quiet area and was very relaxing.
Location is perfect, close to other attractions. Quiet and safe environment.
Everything was perfect, had a nice atmosphere and children could enjoy themselves.
We were upgraded to a larger unit after the owner was unhappy about the vehicle gate, all at no extra cost.
We just used the place to sleep in as we spend most of our time at Ocean Mist with our family. However on Saturday and Monday morning we awoke to what sounded like arguing or loud telephonic conversations from the main house which was extremely unpleasant. Also, the main bedroom is against what seems to be the kitchen of the main house and due to there being a door that separates the 2 sections, noise travels so we could hear their conversations in the kitchen which is disturbing especially early in the morning.
The stay was okay but there were loopholes. For example, the owner was on the premises which made u feel like you are being watched. There are doors from his house to our house and that means he could access from his place. This place is more for elderly persons than youngsters. Our dust bins were overflowing but no one offered to empty them as we could not do it because there were no big bins outside. Our house has a door that separates us from our neighbors so the whole night our neighbor was coughing and it was irritating. and we had to keep our kids quiet so that they do not bother the neighbors so I felt like I was not on holiday. then the other neighbors had guests there and DD does not check in with them so they were at the pool all the time which made us uncomfortable to go swim and enjoy our stay. The place does not have Aircon or fans. I had to lend the owner's fan. our toilet door is opposite the door the owner had access to come into our place so we always had to close doors behind us and I felt that's not how a holiday should be. u must feel free to leave doors open and to talk. I could hear conversations from our neighbour. But it was nice to get away a bit, but I prefer it for more elderly persons as I felt limited.
Construction debris is everywhere. No chairs at the barbecue. 3 coffee bags for two people for 3 days. Gave candles for loadshedding, but no blakers (holders).
