The accommodation was well up to standard and the owner very helpful with both local knowledge of the area and the best places to go for the locations of the wild flower season, which was the reason for our trip.

The accommodation is basic and clean and the rooms are spacious, though lacking in character. Very sparse and no atmosphere. Lights don't even have shades on; they only left enough coffee for one serving each (so if you arrive in the afternoon, there was none for the morning). Safe off-street parking, and staff are friendly. Breakfast is extra and no longer included in the basic rate.
Location of guest house was good for a visit to Springbok and surroundings. Friendly service was excellent.

Although everything was clean, tidy and the host was friendly and went the extra mile for us, I prefer a place to stay with a little more well-kept furniture and room accessories. The rooms are cleaned with something that smells very pungent and it was unpleasant. Unfortunately the dining hall was closed on Sundays. I believe there are "warmer" and better equipped and more modern places to stay.

Stay was adequate for one night. Rooms are tired and stale. Air conditioners either did not work or were very noisy. Rooms also smelled unpleasant and there was an underlying smell of urine all around the property. Breakfast was very good.

Rooms are spacious and equipped with the basics - everything you need for an overnight stay. The host was friendly and kind. The bed was comfortable, but the double bed was a tight fit for two adults and a toddler!
Stayed very well. Maybe they should just put something there for the mosquitoes. I had lucky doom. But other than that it was very nice.
We could tell that Old Mill Lodge is being regenerated, to be fair, and we stayed during the off-season. It was slightly run-down, but we could see its potential. However, we couldn't complain about the cleanliness and comfort, and the service was good.
There is everything you need. A chair or 2 in the room would be welcome. Other than that, everything is 100%.

Tina was very helpful and friendly. She also made us feel very welcome and recommended a great place to eat for dinner. Even though we only stayed one night I would recommend Old Mill Lodge anytime. I would definitely stay at Old Mill Lodge again but this time for a longer period. The room and bathroom were comfortable and very tidy. We really enjoyed our short time there.

For cold winter days, mats next to the bed would be useful. The door was warped and let in cold air. The one light on the bedside table had a bad electrical connection.

I first arrived at the guesthouse at 22:00 that evening, and I felt very safe with the security gate closing behind me and the parking that was close to my front door. The garden is beautiful and we slept great.

We had a great stay at Old Mill Lodge. The landlady was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was very pleasant and the room was comfortable. They seem to be renovating and renovating a bit now, unfortunately they haven't been to our room yet. But everything was clean, and it was a nice cavity for the foot. What is very good is that the site has a battery system, so that at least one has light during load shedding.
It was a lovely place. Very comfortable room. The breakfast which was additional was marvellous with the best sausage I have ever had and very reasonably priced. People are friendly and I could not ask for more.
We were well rested for the road ahead. It was a Thursday night just before a holiday and very quiet at the place. The overall setup was very good in terms of the premises and room. Secure ample parking is available. Everything in good condition and clean. We were warned in advance that because the next day was a holiday, that there would be no staff. But there was no mention of no breakfast. There were a lot of little things missing. Two-pin power plugs. No ordinary "English" tea.
The address is given as 69, but it is next to 35.

We were well received and the room was clean and tidy. It's not a self-catering unit, there are only facilities to make coffee or tea. It would have helped us a lot if there was an information sheet with information about places to eat in town (and the times when they are open), it would have made the search for food easier. A little dish soap and a dishtowel to be able to wash and dry cups after use will also help, after all, you drink tea or coffee more than once.

Neat, but coffee station in the room needs coffee, two different coffee mugs, one glass. Not ideal for 2 nights.
The next morning the receptionist was soon there to ask if we slept well. When we talked about the music, she offered to give us a discount the next time and a free breakfast.

The place was very neat, but does not justify the price. No provision made for load shedding. Loadshedding is here to stay and guesthouses will have to adapt.
The room was definitely not the one I booked. The shower head is the size of an old one-sided piece with no curtain or door to the shower. Tiles are broken in the bathroom and bed rock hard. We could not book breakfast because it was Sunday morning. New owner and she will have to work hard to get everything in place. We did get free breakfast (Monday morning) after I complained about the accommodation.
Place smells musty. Sink and shower are dirty. Have to ask for towels. No hot water.

Old food in fridge, dirty pillowcases, bad mold in shower, no kitchenware in cupboard, no chairs, only a table, dirty kettle, no ashtray in kitchen, toilet not flushing properly, old used (disposable) shower cap in bathroom under towels (hope towels were clean). Aircon is noisy so we had to turn it off during the night to be able to sleep. At least got free breakfast to make up for it. Definitely would not recommend.
The place is impersonal. The guests' comfort was not looked after and no drinking water was provided. I couldn't take a shower in the morning because 'loadshed'.
We just slept over. Room was clean, managers were very friendly and helpful. Pleasant atmosphere. I would definitely recommend.
