My partner and I spent 3 amazing evenings on the Kingfisher Houseboat. The weather was idyllic with our time on the boat between cold fronts. We watched the sunset from the roof every night and even had a little dance as the sun went down. Jones and his team made sure we were well taken care of and know the river well.
The toilet and the bathing arrangements are very small. The water was cold.
It was our best wedding anniversary ever, it's one to remember forever. I would definitely do it again, this time in the heart of summer.
We did not have the best weather but will definitely go again. We had the most amazing experience.

Service is fantastic and it was a great adventure. However, the boats are slightly weathered and need some love. The sleeping facilities are definitely too small for 2 parents with 2 large teenage sons.

Evertything was amazing, the staff, the boat, and the entire experience.
The boathouse experience on the river was very nice, and we enjoyed the privacy of it, as well as the fact that you could barbecue on the boat, and get off at certain places for restaurants, spas, etc. However, the boats are a bit on the old side, and definitely need refurbishment. Melamine finishes are already damaged, floors are no longer level, radio and some lights do not work, etc. Unfortunately, our fridge and oven didn't work either, but the Old Willow Resort at least provided us with a cooler box with lots of ice, which made it a little easier. We did our best with the oven, and used the fire. At least we got a discount because our facilities were not fully usable. But the place was clean nonetheless. Would still recommend for a peaceful time in nature.
Will recommend sleeping over on the Millionaire's Bend side as the Taaibos Spruit sleepover spot is way to noisy with the highway being so close to the river. Maps need to be updated in order to give more clarity on where to cruise and sleep over and where not. In general a very nice experience and will do it again.

It was never mentioned that you have to spend the night overlooking all the houses and palaces. It only leaves you with a few options, that is if you are there first. Small side inlets between the reeds, where you also have to anchor your boat. It was also not mentioned that most places you can go ashore, you have to eat at the restaurant. At the Emirates Casino you may not stop either, but quite a distance from them, after which you will be transported there by van. And they can also invest in new covers for their couches and mattresses, they look hideous. With each new guest, everything is cleaned nicely, but really they just turn that soggy pillow over.
We were very warmly welcomed (and easily found the entrance as per directions). There were enough helpful hands to help us get our luggage from the car to the boat. Even though it rained all weekend, we still enjoyed every moment. Everything on the boat worked 100% and we were very well informed of the rules and where we could spend the night. On Saturday we stopped at the jetty again and the boat, cabin and deck were cleaned. Toilets were cleaned, batteries charged and water tanks filled. I would recommend it and we will definitely go back for a weekend.
The houseboat is a different experience, something everybody should try at least once. The staff at Old Willow No. 7 Houseboat Charters are very friendly and helpful. The boats are maintained well and in good condition. The cabin was clean, small yet comfortable, and I enjoyed the stay very much.
A wonderful adventure with a great company. Everyone needs to do this at least once. Although we are planning many more such trips now that we have done it!
The biggest cremation ever! Everything you might need on the water and the friendliest service on the docks! We would recommend it to any couple. It was an experience and we will Old Willow No. 7 Houseboat Charters will definitely visit again soon. Great service!
We had a wonderful boat trip and the accommodation on the houseboat was really a good experience. We ate at the River Palace Restaurant and it was great. Overall it was very nice.
The fridge didn't work, but we got a big box full of ice when we reported it, which made up for it. We will definitely do it again.

We enjoyed it very much, especially because it was the first time we got on a boat and had to steer it ourselves. My husband didn't even want to go back home. He caught his biggest fish yet. He estimates the carp to be approx. 10 kg. He will definitely stay here again. We really enjoyed it.
5 days on the water is just what was needed to de-stress - had an absolute fantastic time. The staff were great, very helpful as well, even advising what the fish were eating. We will be back for sure. Thank you all very much.

Experience one must try. Unbelievably enjoyed. The weather cooperated nicely, river was quiet and just enjoyed every second of the environment, nature and atmosphere.
Lowering and raising the anchor was a bit of a problem. Had to walk next to the boat, but other than that it was a very nice experience.
A wonderful, relaxing experience especially for a couple who just want to get away from the city's hustle and bustle and of course ideal for some time away from the children where mum and dad can just relax a bit! Already recommended to others. Next time we will just want to stay longer.

It was definitely worth every penny. Great relax. Sandy was very helpful and so were the workers who were there every day to help with fuel and water, because we had too much fun with the boat. Would recommend this holiday to anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

We were there over a weekend with many other faster and bigger boats on the water. Compared to the MSC Cruises, Old Willow No 7 was not really value for money. The reception and arrangements were friendly and smooth. I would hardly make a second booking at Old Willow No 7. The first was a pleasant experience, but I don't think it's really value for money. The houseboat was tidy and well equipped (except for the fact that towels were not provided). Possibly a quieter time of year would also have promoted a more peaceful experience. Other boats on the river drove us crazy and rocked. The evening in a tributary was delightful between the chirping of birds and other night sounds. The barbeque facility also enhanced the atmosphere.
