Located near Wellington, on a working farm. The surroundings are beautiful and surrounded by mountains.
Incredibly cute place with everything at your disposal. Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need. Nice big spacious full bathroom. The beds sleep wonderfully (with quality white linen). We sat outside on the deck until late at night, made a fire and had a great time. Very relaxed atmosphere that only farm life can offer. Lisette is an excellent and most friendly hostess. Will definitely stop by again for a quick farm visit.
My friends and I got together in the Boland as we have studied together in the 70s. The farm cottage at Olifantskop, was ideal as it provided us with excellent accommodation and a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.
The electric blankets a real bonus in the cold.

Olifantskop is one of the best places we've ever been to in South Africa and the Western Cape. The area is picturesque and the house is very well equipped. Everything fits together - not a motley arrangement of old things. The people were very friendly, without overdoing it. We will be back and we look forward to it!

I usually look for a guest house on a farm or outside of the city or town as I live on a farm myself. I did not expect the surroundings, beauty and neatness of the house at Olifantskop and the cleanliness was worth noting. I arrived late on a very cold and wet weeknight. The GPS coordinates were accurate and took me straight there as the road signs were useless in the in the dark. Lisette had warmed the house before my arrival with a heater and made me feel right at home with a bottle of wine. My visit to Wellington was at the same time as a freezing cold front that left snow on the mountains and ice on my car's windscreen in the morning. But I was never cold in the guest house. I will stay here again and can recommend it to anyone! Well done!
Elephant head was a surprise! Warm welcome. Hospitable people with an incredibly beautiful cottage. Crisp and neat. Visitors can relax wonderfully privately in the peaceful farm atmosphere. Even though it is self-catering there was coffee, tea, sugar and milk and even biscuits! Ten out of ten!
We really enjoyed our stay at Olifantskop. Lisette made us feel really welcome, and helped a lot with our planning for eating and visiting in the area. We were only 2 people, but the Cottage is big enough for 4 people to stay comfortably. If you would like to cook yourself, the kitchen is very well equipped. There were many small 'details' that made the weekend special - like fresh roses that made the whole house smell nice, delicious biscuits and a nice bottle of local wine. The location suited us well, with a bunch of wine farms nearby. The world in and around Wellington is really very beautiful - well worth a visit, and I can recommend Olifantskop Kothuis for accommodation!
The host was outstanding and took us on a tour of the farm. The unit was very convenient and neat and ideally located. And thank you for the bottle of wine in the unit. It was a nice gesture. Good knowledge of the environment and how the grape business works and it was good for us to know and respect the farmers more. We are going back next year.

Olifantskop Cottage is such a beautiful place. Close to everything but far enough too. The owners make you feel welcome immediately. The place is nice and clean and has everything you need and then there is a fantastic view too.
This is a gem in the Western Cape. I'm almost afraid to say it, because it might attract too many people and then I won't get a place again!
Location is fantastic. We had a great stay and everything was as we expected. Nice and quiet on the farm and only a stone's throw from Wellington.
