249 guests' feedbackWouter made us feel at home and didn't mind adjusting to our arrangements. The stars are lovely visible in the evenings and all the rates are there to enjoy yourself properly. I would highly recommend Olijvenhuis to anyone looking for a true Karoo place, and hope to stay there again in the future. Thank you Wouter, the olive oil is great!
We will definitely stay again and again. We unexpectedly went to show family where we are at home and they immediately fell in love with our place of residence for the weekend. It was top notch for sure.
We had a great stay, it's a house with old world charm, the cement floors, reed ceiling and furniture add to a real farm experience. It was clean and everything worked. Spacious outdoor barbecue area, equipped kitchen. There was DSTV. We walked in the olive grove. Thank you very much for your hospitality!
Awesome stay, clean, quiet, safe and private. The children had enough safe space to play.
Quiet farm atmosphere. Yes, nice stay.
This was a really "stunning" place to stay. You are far enough out of town that the sounds of the 24 hour shops and gas stations won't bother you to get a good night's rest. The place has enough space and our little girl enjoyed crawling around and just wanted to "explore" everything. Definitely worth it and will definitely visit again.
The house was well equipped. We stayed one night on the way, and it was lovely on the farm among the olive trees.
See stars.
Great, because it's quite peaceful.
Great overslept. The place is beautiful.
Very nice stay. Good place.
We had a great stay and would recommend it anytime.
This is the third time in about 3 months that we spend the night there and we really enjoy the peaceful farm atmosphere.
Very comfortable and practical house.
Just out of town, this small farm retreat is surrounded by olive trees and offers comfortable lodgings with a spacious and authentic boma braai area. Good base from which to explore the Karoo National Park.
Very comfortable stay and had a very good host who helped us out with any requests. Very nice outside place to visit and also very good air conditioning in the room section. Fridge didn't seal well and needed to chase away about three bugs in the kitchen, but otherwise very good stay and very good value.
The place was nice and clean and has everything you need to sleep 1 or 2 nights on your way somewhere. It is on a puddle with some dirt road (which was not marked) but nothing too difficult for an SUV or 4x4. We didn't make a fire or barbecue, but there is a nice meeting area outside the accommodation. Thank you very much for a nice evening.
Very pleasant place with lots of space and the indoor braai is a winner!
Was a nice farm atmosphere.
This was a very late emergency booking, however the host_firstname was extremely friendly and accommodating. We had a great rest in a very peaceful farm environment after a very stressful day. Would love to stay there again.
Yes, it was very nice and the host was very helpful.
The accommodation is very good and comfortable. The only challenge is that there is no one on site if you want to book something. When we got there, we couldn't get hold of the management to show where we were staying. Also the GPS takes you on the ugliest farm road when there is a much better access road. Directions not so clear.
Adequately comfortable. A freezer compartment to the fridge would have been a benefit, as well as having the fridge on before we arrived.
Everything was delicious, only the kitchen towels were very dirty and the cockroach infestation was very bad. There was also no soap or shampoo in the bathroom.
We were 5 people, but only 4 beds. Then had to arrange for an extra bed. Only 2 plates and 3 bowls, small plates and glasses were dirty, no washing-up sponge. The towels had hand marks and the blankets had stains. The 5th towel brought with the bed was wet. The condition of the place is poor. Just gave the shower a mission - too creepy.
The weather was awful, so the indoor braai area was perfect, the DStv was great, and the friendly welcome by the local Jack Russell was such a delight! "Snippie" was so cute!
We got to the accommodation late at night and left early the next morning in the dark, unfortunately there is a cockroach infestation that made our stay a bit unpleasant. Shower drain also blocked - drained slowly and one stands in the water when showering.
It would be nice if there wasn't a cockroach infestation.
I am satisfied with min but the place is not up to standard
This is very much a low budget place of stay. The owner came to find us as we arrived at night and it is poorly sign posted (it was kind of him). The dish cloth was not clean, and the beds and furniture were not great. The DStv was the best thing there. I personally will not stay there again. The house smelt a little like a hospital. The building was very rustic, to say the least. As the water appears to be pumped, as there was no power when we woke up, there was no water to wash/shower. I was not happy.
The olive orchard gives a calm atmosphere. Some maintenance needed in the unit, i.e. taps, fridge. Smart TV, WiFi & aircon made the stay comfortable. The host is hospitable and willing to help.
The location does not meet the minimum requirements.
It was raining outside and the roof was leaking everywhere. Cockroaches were a problem. Shower taps were very difficult to get on and off. You have to hold the electric wall plug by the microwave to make it work, and the one by the stove sits loosely in the wall.
It was ok but there was cockroaches in the kitchen no plate we were 4 people and had 2 plates there. The toilet was not nice dirty and old. The shower was bad and the water did not drain out of show and overflowed. Not for us ever again.
We didn't meet any owner, just called and said the keys were in the gate. No contact numbers would have come in handy if something happened. It's in the middle of nowhere. The sheets are torn and the place smells of smoke. I definitely could have gotten a better stay for my money.
We did not stay but looked for other accommodation. The units were dirty, furniture old and run down, there was an unpleasant smell in the place.
Was very nice, the air conditioning was a great asset.
We stayed nice and quiet among the olive tree lanes and had a barbecue. The house is nice and spacious and the bed is comfortable, as well as the air conditioning is good.
The house is much bigger than we expected and has everything we needed. Very good value for money!
Amazing owner! He waited until very late for us to arrive. Excellent amenities!
Would definitely recommend Olijvenhuis. It's clean, tidy and friendly people! So Nice stay and so peaceful and safe.
Received everything and more. Highly recommend the place.
Was pleasantly surprised. Easily accessible. Nice farm atmosphere. Large house on farm yard. Neat, clean. Friendly reception.
Always friendly, affordable and with more everything you need for an overnight stay.
Everything needed in room, spacious and tidy.
We had a great stay here again. Nice warm and peaceful sleep. Dogs had a nice stay too. Special bulbs to help load shedding. Will stay there again! No road transport noise!
Particular unique experience surrounded by beautiful olive trees. Authentic.
We slept great and felt very safe, especially with a lot of luggage we had to leave in the car. Perfect for small children.
We were there during a lovely downpour. The roof was leaking in a few places.
It was so nice to be able to enjoy a peaceful night on such a lovely olive farm. Very comfortable and so beautiful. Could also buy more delicious olive oil. Our host was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again.
A little way out of town. The silence and the stars that night were amazing. The cottage was spacious and well furnished. I loved the old furniture. Had a great sleep. Enjoyed the braai area outside too. Would recommend the place.
It was nice, clean and tidy. We were received very kindly and immediately felt at home. We will definitely visit again. Maybe invest in better mattresses on the beds.
For campers for 50 years, this first guest house was a pleasant start. The house on the Karoo farm between the olive trees was spacious and peaceful. The mosquitoes and the mice in the house in the morning were an example of the nature around us. Real farm. We enjoyed it and slept great.
It was neat and the indoor grill was a plus. The cottage was very well equipped. The owner was very helpful and even gave us wood to grill. Thank you very much, we had a great time.
The children enjoyed the walk in the olive grove.
Very quick visit. Had to get up early to get to appointment on time.
We especially liked the quiet, away from the busy N1 and the fenced yard where the small dog could roam safely.
Neat, rural among the olive trees. Out of town but close enough to the main road. Was load shedding in the early evening, all the lights didn't stay on full time, but didn't bother us. Good value for money.
It was spacious. All of us could sleep comfortably. The owner was friendly and helpful. Making a fire inside was an enjoyable experience.
We traveled with a small dog and were surprised with the beautiful olive trees surrounding the cottage. Very quiet and safe. Everything one needs. There are a few places that need maintenance, but you enjoy the environment so much that you miss it. Will definitely stay there again.
We were kindly welcomed by the host and were able to quickly make ourselves at home. We only stayed one night and didn't find much we needed, but if I could make a recommendation it would be that the cooking utensils be expanded a bit. Still, it was very nice and different.
Very large and more than enough room for a family of 5.
A lovely, quaint farm stay experience in Beaufort Wes. It was extremely hot, but luckily there was a fan and the windows opened nicely for a breeze. There are a few bugs, but nothing unexpected for a farm cottage. There is a main bedroom with a double bed with two single beds in the Kalamata cottage, as well as bathrooms separate shower and toilet. There is an open plan lounge and kitchen area.
Enjoyed our stay, was just right as an overnight stay.
Feeling at home, spacious, nice.
Lying outside the town on the way from Beaufort West to Aberdeen. Lovely farm atmosphere on the Olive Farm in Beaufort West. We were specifically looking for 'pet-friendly' accommodation because we had a dog with us. Dog can play around in safe area. Spacious braai facilities and everything was also provided for them, although we did not use them.
For me personally, I really look forward to a nice relaxing time and Olijvenhuis always gives me that rest for my soul. That Karoo silence is something I would recommend to anyone.
Big house, that can sleep 5, on an olive farm.
Very cute place and quiet environment. We had a nice stay.
It was good. I wish that we had arrived very early to explore it more. The only problem is mosquitoes, but that's a natural problem.
Certain people will enjoy living here immensely, but others may not.
Lovely olive groves surround the cottage. A little TLC on the kitchen counter would improve the look. The 1st aid box needs cleaning.
Attention must be paid to the septic tank system and there is no water during loadshedding.
What a wonderful Karoo experience. A real farm house, neat, clean and full of farm charm and nostalgia. Lovely, friendly people. Would definitely recommend it.
Olijvenhuis is located in a beautiful environment just outside the town and very safe. Unfortunately the owner did not communicate with us ahead of time and I had to call him to confirm our arrival time. Eventually we also had to wait for him because he was in town when we arrived. We then drove to the unit we booked only to see that there were already other people in the unit. I had to call again and I was casually told that we had been moved to another unit that did not meet our needs at all. We had already booked the other unit because it met our needs and it was confirmed that we would get the unit we booked. We were not happy about it at all, but had to accept it. The unit we got was well equipped, but the grills were very dirty and creepy. We had to clean it ourselves, with few cleaning agents available, before we had a chance to use it. Furthermore, our overnight experience was acceptable.
Holiday overnight, paid in advance and therefore couldn't actually cancel the 2nd booking.
The shower needs renovation. The water dammed up furiously. Fill the floor.
The place where the houses are located is beautiful and it was nice to drive through the olive grove to the accommodation. We stayed in Mission, even though we booked Calamate, and it was very basic. The kitchen is not well equipped and some of the kitchenware is broken. It was also not cleaned well, with cigarette butts still outside and dirty chairs. The one bed also still had dirty sheets. There weren't enough blankets and we had to make a plan to keep everyone warm.
Located on an olive farm. Very quiet and peaceful environment with many amenities.
Great potential and very friendly and helpful host. The place was very neat. Improvement is needed in terms of pests (cockroaches) and electrical wiring (earth leakage kept tripping and some lights were powered from a plug breaker; the stove was also not working). The neighbour was having a party which kept us up, so some noise control would be appreciated. We tried reporting the issue, but our call wasn't answered. Basic maintenance is needed, such as the loose soap dispenser and the curtain rail that wasn't fixed to the wall.
Beautiful place with nice surroundings, but kitchen is overrun with cockroaches. No water supply in kitchen. Will not go there again unfortunately. Ostriches are also advertised, but there are none. Shower water overflows into living room.
Broken toilet, shower dysfunctional.
Defective as well as shortage of self-care tools.
Kitchen full of cockroaches and mats, place very dirty.
The pictures on LS do not show the cottage we booked. It is not 'a cottage' - there are 2 units connected. We stayed in MISSION, which is not mentioned on LS. The mattresses are old, leading to backache. The tap and sink leak, which is not environmentally friendly. The chairs on the terrace were both broken. The LS place next door is better, with honest photos.
We never met the owners or an assistant, although they promised to drop by in the evening. The door and security gate could not close. We felt unsafe. The toilet bowl leaked terribly, according to previous guests already from early September.
The house was not cleaned after previous visitors. Kitchenware in poor condition. Linen with spots on it.
It could probably be a good place to stay, it just seems like the owners either live on their own planet or don't give a damn. "Creepy crawlies" in the relatively new microwave and all over the house, unfortunately did not have Doom Fogger on hand.
When we arrived no one was there to tell us where to go. Then when we showered the whole room was flooded and I was told that it never happend before, and we should close the shower more then it wont flood, but yet the guest book states otherwise. Not worth the money at all.
Thank you so much for the amazing farm experience. We had a very nice stay.
Nice, quiet, safe house with everything at your disposal and the friendliest owners.
Lovely farm atmosphere among the olive trees. There are also ostriches to view on the farm. Very cozy and tidy accommodation. Second time we stayed there and will definitely stay there again. Wouter is a very pleasant host.
Would be nice if there is a fridge with freezing facilities to keep your frozen goods frozen.
This place makes me long for the days when we used to visit my aunt's farm outside Vaalwater, it's excellent and immediately relaxes you. The house was neat and really nice to just relax. Thank you very much.
One of the best places to stay overnight! Uncle Foster is the best. And old Jack, you crawled deep into our hearts with your friendly tail. Oom Voster, thank you very much for the gifts that were received at short notice. Was the most delicious Karoon nights ever. Already recommended to friends. 10 out of 10.
Big, spacious, neat, clean and comfortable. It is on a farm and is very quiet.
Nice stargazing. We could see the supermoon beautifully. Nice porch to sit outside.
Farm-tranquility's atmosphere was lovely.
Pet friendly, big plus and a very large house.
I was very happy to stay at Olijvenhuis, a welcome halfway break between Bloemfontein and Cape Town.
Accommodation was neat and clean. Very comfortably furnished with everything needed.
Everything you need is there. Just note that with GPS you are taken in the vicinity of Wagon Wheels 15 km from Beaufort West off the main route on a poor dirt road through woods. We turned around and then found the correct way out of town.
Stayed overnight on the way to Cape Town.
We had a great time on the beautiful farm, well furnished and perfect for an overnight stop with our three dogs. Very good communication from the owner.
The check in was simple. Unit was open on arrival. Except for mosquitoes we had no complaints.
Many thanks to the owner for the beautiful place and for the very nice olive oil. We will surely visit you again.
Lovely peaceful farm stay with everything you could possibly need. Beautiful olive groves.
All basic requirements were in place. We enjoyed our overnight stay, particularly the time spent on the stoep looking across the olive groves to the mountains.
Wouter received us kindly and showed us where everything was. We had a very nice and quiet time with our 2 Bostons. Slept warm in a large farmhouse room. Shower was awesome - hot and very strong water stream!
We had a great barbecue and were able to go for a walk in the beautiful sunset.
Safe, clean and very peaceful. Just what you need after the long, hot road on the N1.
The reason why I decided to go on holiday at Olijvenhuis again this year is because of the tranquility, away from the hustle and bustle of the city and pure air that one experiences throughout the day. Uncle Woksie's hospitality makes you feel welcome as soon as you step in. Olijvenhuis is definitely worth a visit again.
It's a real farmhouse on a farm with olives. Very nice. Just a friendly suggestion that the hosts might just make sure the cleaners put out enough tea, coffee and milk. However, we asked for milk which was brought promptly - thank you for that.
Sleeping facilities are excellent. I booked for 4 people but there were only 2 plates, no other plates, no wine glasses, no dishwashing towels and very little dishwashing liquid available.
We had a great barbecue and were able to go for a walk in the beautiful sunset. It was loadshedding, but they did have lights that worked for a while. Pleasant experience!
Nice olive and pomegranate orchard.
Our stay was very pleasant, nothing was a problem, if I can recommend it, it is signposts to the guest house, as well as the driveway a little rough.
There was no one who could show me how and where what was in the house, how the TV worked etc. not. The key was just left in the security door and I had to manage on my own.
Neat farm atmosphere. Owner very friendly and helpful.
See stars.
We were very fortunate to see a large tortoise on the farm and also a pair of thick-knee birds too. Such a pretty farm️.
For the price accommodation was ok, it has all the minimum needs. Toilet door just makes terrible noise and is uncomfortable because everyone sleeps in one room and toilet is basically a door in the room, some Q20 will fix it.
Very peaceful, space for Africa, lovely TV, heaven on earth among olive groves.
Good value for money. Quiet, comfortable and safe accommodation.
I arrived in the middle of a rainstorm that lasted all night. The roof leaked in several places. I reported this; understandably nothing could be done about it during the storm. The shower head needs fixing. Water not drinkable. Despite the leaks, the house was comfortable and warm. Very safe enclosure for my 2 doggies.
Place is comfortable and very peaceful. Fresh from the farm.
Bathroom and toilet upgrade needed.
Very peaceful and cozy.
Far out of town. Bad farm road. Mosquitoes and flies eat you up.
Could have made better facilities available for load shedding.
Unfortunately we struggled to get there, the road directions were ambiguous. Unfortunately this caused us to drive a very bad dirt road with caravans, and we were lucky not to pick up any damage. We have learned that other people have also taken such a wrong turn. Upon arrival we were unsure of where to go. The cottages are well furnished. The bedding is nice and clean, and we had a nice barbecue at the lapa.
Double bed not firm. Sinks and shower not very clean, but brought it to owner's attention.
It was very hot when we got there but luckily there were aircons and fans in our rooms. On the roof of one unit there is only a lot of noise when the wind blows with the branches on the corrugated iron roof. The plastic chairs are in a state, all broken. Furthermore, we had a great time and barbecued.
First, we were told we were at the wrong unit because the Olijvenhuis unit got "double booked" and we got sent to a unit we did not book or had any interest in staying in. The host was rude, did not greet us or introduce himself and refused to give us a refund even though he offered us a place we didn't want to stay in and didn't receive booking confirmation for. I had to spend an hour, after a 10 hour trip, talking to customer care to get the unit back that we originally booked. The host did not apologise for the inconvenience, did not try to rectify his poor planning and he was rude when I said I didn't book the unit he tried to force us into and he tried to blame it on a booking error, but we received a confirmation for the booking of the Olijvenhuis unit and not the Kalamata one he tried to get us to stay in. There was someone else's leftover food in the oven in the Olijvenhuis unit and my pillowcase had old blood stains on it. My husband was told we could get the WiFi password and after I refused to stay in the Kalamata unit, the host ignored me when I asked for the WiFi password. We had no signal and wouldn't be able to call anyone if we were in an emergency. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Based on other reviews on other platforms and this one, it is a reoccurring issue where the host blames things on "double bookings" and people end up staying in the Kalamata unit even though they did not book it.
Infested with cockroaches in the kitchen. No shower soap. No dish soap. Lounge chairs not very clean. Refrigerator's freezing and cooling compartments not neatly clean.
Thank you very much for the cleanliness and safety.
We were warmly welcomed. The accommodation was very neat and clean. Will stay there again for sure.
Had a very friendly reception and the peaceful farm atmosphere was a blessing away from the city's noise.
Great. Sal hul aanbeveel.
Very nice place to stay, clean, safe and tidy. The owner is also very pleasant. The farm is picturesque with the olive trees. We will go again for sure.
Had a very friendly reception, home atmosphere, was on the way to the hunting field and used Olijvenhuis as a halfway stop. Will definitely stay here again next year
Olijvenhuis was a pleasant surprise. On the ridge of the town's quiet side between olive trees sits the comfortable house with old-fashioned farm charm. Very well priced and well appointed. Make sure you pack barbecue meat for a stellar barbecue in the summer and a cozy fireplace barbecue in the winter. The owner made an effort to supply us with wood.
Olijvenhuis is a lovely farmhouse that made me long for my childhood. Only 5 km outside Beaufort West. We bought wood and Karoo chops in town, and had a great time relaxing by a fire in a beautiful barbecue area. House has a farm atmosphere and was neat and clean. There was a Samsung mosquito catcher available which let us burn at night. Great relaxing on the farm. Silence, beautiful sunrises and sunsets with mountains in the background. Learned interesting facts about olives. Visited Karoo national park and stayed cheaper than in the park itself. A preferred partner. Definitely value for money and will definitely stay at Olijvenhuis again.
We had a wonderful stay here with our two schnauzers. The house is well equipped, with a beautiful enclosed barbecue area outside. There were a lot of different bird species to be seen early in the morning in the olive groves around the house. For a peaceful Karoo stay, I definitely recommend Olijvenhuis!
The unit is very clean and tidy. Private. Feels like in the Bosveld. Had a very relaxing sleep over there.
It's wonderfully quiet, almost feels like the Bosveld. Clean and tidy.
Many thorns - wear shoes. Don't follow Google Maps - drive through town.
Very good environment, and close to nature.
Perfect stopover for trips to the coast. We enjoyed the accommodation.
Would definitely go back!
Only booked one night, will stay two nights next time just to rest.
WiFi was great - teenagers! Lovely comfortable beds! Would recommend it to anyone travelling - nice stop over.
The bedside lights did not work.
Quiet place to stay overnight with all the necessary facilities.
We didn't quite get the original discussion right, but everything worked out well.
Can definitely recommend. Lovely surroundings. Beautiful furniture.
Conveniently located between Cape Town and Bloemfontein. Plenty of places to eat on Beaufort West.
Unit is well equipped and everything needed was available.
The room met our needs and the service is friendly and fast. A little dusty after the morning's strong wind but perfectly acceptable.
Address vs. GPS didn't quite add up, but then found it close. Very nice farm with an exceptional view.
A very peaceful and quiet place to sleep in the Karoo.
The friendliness and hospitality we received from the old man is definitely a plus. Furthermore, the silence was just what we wished for, I definitely recommend Olijvenhuis as an ideal getaway spot.
Although there was a double booking we were able to sort it out as a family.
The stove was dirty, the oven was filthy with cobwebs in it and was unsanitary to use. The kitchen cupboards were dusty and had clearly not been cleaned for a long time. It is a "self catering" unit and the kitchen equipment also needs to be upgraded. For example, there was no toaster.
We were so looking forward to sitting by the fire and admiring the scenery - what a disaster! I would recommend that people spend at least 2 days in their own overnight accommodation to notice the shortcomings. The scenery was breathtakingly beautiful and the dog was very friendly and cute.
The place was spacious, but not very clean. There were cobwebs, toilet leaked and was dirty. However, the bedding was pretty clean. Unfortunately, we will not stay there again.
Directions not very good. There was no TV, bedside lamps did not work. Furniture is neglected.
No one to receive us. Unit and utensils were horribly dirty, I had to step in and clean it myself just to get it livable.
Will definitely stay here again.
The owner was very friendly and helpful, as well as always available. The house was surprisingly large for the amount we paid, and was really a genuine Karoo house. It felt like a home away from home, especially with the bitterly cute and friendly Jack Russel, Jack.
After a long journey, well rested in a spacious house with everything we needed. Thank you.
Olijvenhuis was a well needed place to stay to get a break from the busyness of life. We will definitely stay here again on our travels between Johannesburg and Cape Town.
Nice and hospitable and very pleasant thank you
The clean air outside was amazing. We had the honor of experiencing the snow which was picture perfect. The cottage was equipped with everything you need for a sleepover. Will do it again.
Very nice place. Was surprised with the beautiful view. If you are looking for tranquility, Olijvenhuis is the right place.
Rooms very large, clean and furnished with antique items. Very nice.
Despite our lovely stay, we suggest that the grill be washed daily. There were no drugs or equipment for that. Also had to use own toilet paper.
After a long day on the road, the Karoolug is just the relaxation needed to recharge the batteries. A neat place to sleep at very reasonable rates.
Accommodation is clean and neat, with all the basics you need - very comfortable. Loved the extra touch of long-life milk and 5l bottled water in fridge, thanks Wouter. Being out in the beautiful Karoo veld among the olive trees is wonderful.
It is an affordable, comfortable and great place to spend the night.
The air-con is a plus.
The ostriches were a highlight for the children! Blissful silence after a long drive.
Nice resting place and good reception.
The owner was very kind and friendly. Jack the Jack Russell was a cute guest as we barbecued outside under the stars. I would definitely recommend that you bring Peaceful Sleep or any bug repellent!
Very nice place to stay and well equipped to be able to visit there for a while.
Lovely, relaxing little cottage, perfect for a night stay while passing through. The bedroom is slightly strange in layout in that it could easily be made more private with the addition of a simple wall - but that’s just a suggested improvement for more privacy.
Such a cute place among the olive groves. Conveniently located and close to town. Not much kitchen equipment, but good enough for a quick overnight stay. The mosquitoes overwhelmed us a bit from late afternoon to early morning - remember to pack "Peaceful Sleep"! Jack, the Jack Russell, was also very cute! Thanks to the host.
We chose to stay on a farm rather than a room in town. It was the right choice! And the rusk was delicious.
We chose Olijvenhuis so we could look at the stars and it was breathtaking. The outside area is spacious and the braai impressive. The lounge area, beds and room were very good, but the bathrooms uncomfortable. It's a good overnight team.
Kitchen equipment was a bit sketchy. No bottle opener. Frying tongs broken. It would also be good if the web page says wood is not provided.
Room not very tidy.
No indication where reception is. Waited a long time for service. It appeared as if the unit had not been previously serviced.
We were not given the place we originally booked.
The uncle immediately welcomes you and makes sure you are comfortable! The most beautiful spot between the ostriches and olives. Will definitely visit again.
Roomy. Safe. Restful. Lets think back to years ago when life was not hectic.
It's our number 1 place to stay in Beaufort West.
Baie dankie.
Was surprised at how well equipped the house was. Had a great time resting and relaxing and regretted that we couldn't stay longer.
Very suitable and nice place, will return again.
Olive House is a hidden gem. After a long, warm ride, Olijvenhuis welcomes you with an air conditioner in an extremely clean, neat house. The braai area is massive and very safe. Woksie, thank you so much for sharing your hospitality.
Beautiful place. Lovely atmosphere. All of the necessities!
Was received very kindly, effort was made to meet us near the town. We will definitely stay there again!
We had an amazing time and slept so well. Everything was perfectly suited to our needs! Would definitely recommend it and stay there again sometime.
Very comfortable and very spacious. Quiet environment with real farm atmosphere.
Would definitely recommend to travelers who want to spend the night in the Karoo.
Lovely stay on the farm. Woksie always checked up on us. Thank you for kindness and consideration.
It was nice to stay outside the village between the olive trees and ostriches. The braai area is fully equipped with all the things a braai needs and so many things! Oom Vossie is a wonderful host, we had a very nice chat about the olive industry and his ostriches. Remember to buy Oom Vossie's delicious olive oil, it's special.
Nice stay. Very clean and comfortable.
Good Karoo experience, affordable.
Definitely worth it! Would stay here again anytime. Wouter was very friendly and helpful!
Lights could be cleaned. The outside of the area needs attention.
A pleasant overnight stay. Very neat and homely with peaceful scenery. A nice farmhouse.
We were on holiday in the Cape and stayed overnight at Olijvenhuis. It was wonderfully quiet on the farm among the olive trees. It was exactly what I had in mind for a just after half way sleepover. I would recommend Olievenhuis anytime. I'm going to make this my regular stopover on the way to the Cape.
Woksie is a friendly man and was truly a wonderful host - thank you for delightful chats and concern. The accommodation is in an environment that brings peace and tranquility. I can really recommend Olijvenhuis and will definitely go again.
We had a great stay! Everything was beautiful!
The nicest place with everything you need! Would definitely go there again. Oom Wouter joined me immediately and made sure everything was alright. He also came by on the weekend to ensure everything is 100% with our stay. That extra mile is something that is not expected, but very appreciated!
Great value for money. Well fitted and very comfortable cottage. Inside and outside braai area.
Really enjoyed it. Great place!
The owner was very friendly and the stay was wonderful. The unit is very spacious and tidy. Everything one needs was there. The visiting area is also lovely. Will go there again for sure.
Calm atmosphere. No noise.
Had a great sleep over. Wonderfully peaceful far from the city's noise. Well furnished with all the essentials. Clean and tidy, would definitely recommend it for an overnight stay.
Was very nice, enjoyed it.
We as a family enjoyed it immensely and our three busy boys enjoyed it just as much!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay despite the rain storm. However, was very happy for the people in the area who had nice rain. We missed the signpost and suggest a clearer one at the entrance gate.
Very nice and clean!
Everything was nice, clean and tidy. The place has everything one needs. The reception was very friendly. A beautiful and peaceful place to stay.
Had a good stay. Neat, clean and spacious. Pleasant hospitality.
I would recommend Olijvenhuis and definitely use it again.
What a great place to stay! Spacious, clean and safe. It's very quiet at night which is great for city mice like us. Not too far from Beaufort West, about 8 minutes drive.
We were received very kindly and were pleasantly surprised with a beautiful house among the olive trees. Amenities are neat with nice indoor and outdoor braai facilities. Large area fenced off for dogs. Will visit longer next time!
Well appointed and very comfortable. Nice farm atmosphere. Friendly people and pet friendly. Definitely go again. Definitely value for money.
Can recommend Olijvenhuis.
Had a lovely overnight stay. Our hosts were very friendly and the unit provides all you need. We had a stunning outdoor braai area with lovely views of setting sun, and then moved indoor and lit a fire in the indoor fireplace! Some lovely finishing touches like earbuds, etc. provided. Good quality accommodation. Highly recommended.
It was really nice to stay here. Very cute place among olive trees. Clean and tidy and owner very hospitable.
