251 guests' feedbackThis is the second time I've stayed at Olive Grove and I will go there again. It's beautiful, practical and safe. And Leonie makes great boerekos!
Most beautiful farm ever with warm-hearted people. I just regret not staying longer.
Peaceful, beautiful surroundings.
We had a quick sleepover at Olive Grove and unfortunately had to leave early the next morning, but at least had time to enjoy the incredible sunset at the pond and have a delicious dinner.
Indeed yes, from arrival to departure, indeed a visit like with friends. I will definitely stay there again in the future.
Great stay on route to the coast or Cape Town - and pet friendly too.
Neat clean place to stay.
This was a quick stop on a business trip and was, as always, no fuss and familiar and problem-free in a beautiful spot, and also a great braai.
The Karoo hospitality of the host and team is enough to stop any city dweller.
We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful environment and farm atmosphere. I ordered braai packets for the evening as well as to take away. The service was outstanding. There, Pieter forgets his new sneakers under the bed and the hostess sends them back home by paxi. Thank you very much!
Our stay was awesome! The best night's rest we have had in a long time. The bed was super comfortable. The food was great and the host was phenomenal. Will definitely stay here again.
Thank you for your hospitality.
We had a great stay and had a great time. It's surprising to drive through the Karoo's dryness and come across this oasis.
Olive Grove is ideal for sleeping over on the way back home, but it is so beautiful that you can also enjoy it as a getaway. The rooms are quite spacious, clean and well furnished. The food is incredibly delicious, and the staff is great. The owners are on site themselves and we couldn't ask for a better place to sleep over.
Very nice stay, wonderful evening with the hostess.
Stayed in chalet. Great aircon. Everything one needs. Children enjoy swimming pool. Their cooking food was delicious.
Staying here is a great experience staying with hospitable family. Kind hearted people. Food was top notch. Will definitely stay there again.
Friendly service and reception! Delicious farm food for dinner and real farm breakfast are recommended! Neat and comfortable units. Suggestion: DStv package should be upgraded or rather no TV.
The delicious farm atmosphere made us switch off. Facilities were nice clean and tidy. We ordered dinner and were surprised with a delicious plate of farm food and dessert. We will definitely visit again.
We had a lovely two days that we stayed over at Olive Grove Guest Farm. The host and staff were very helpful.
Very nice. Clean, tidy and comfortable.
Great time with the owners. Food is tasty!
A nice discovery, welcoming and friendly hosts, limited food options, but tasty, well-stocked and reasonably priced honesty bar. Good walking experience to see the dam.
Farmers very cordial. Beautiful houses. Delicious breakfast!
It was great. Hadn't stayed at the accommodation since early COVID. Happy to see that all is running smoothly as in the past.
This was our second time at Olive Grove Farm. No complaints, clean accommodation, friendly service and delicious farm food for dinner and breakfast. Very helpful and went out of her way to make us feel welcome.
I remained 'licks'. It's a unique and beautiful guest farm with lovely olive groves and a nice walking path. The roof fan/light in the main bedroom (double bed room) of cottage no. 2,'s fan did not work. Apparently due to the absence of the chain that one pulls to turn on the fan. The chain was missing/broken. I suspect it has been like this for some time. For the price one pays, it is important to repair such things as soon as possible or replace the roof fan. If the roof fan worked, my visit was 10/10. The hostess recommended I sleep with the air conditioning on and the windows closed to address the problem. Not everyone likes to sleep with an air conditioner on that simply blows out the 'old' air in the rooms again. I prefer fresh air with open windows. If there is a roof fan mounted, surely it must serve its purpose or what?
Stay at Olive Grove every year when I travel for work, or when we go to the Cape. The cottages offer you everything you need. Comfortable and well appointed.
Good as always. Well located for a stop from JHB to Struisbaai.
It was an incredibly great pleasure to be able to spend the night there. The food was very unexpected and very tasty, very well prepared and served. Was really a very pleasant experience. The rooms were also very neat and clean.
Calm atmosphere. Have a good time.
Very nice stay, sorry for mosquitoes and faulty fan. Delicious.
As always, very nice with very nice outside dinner.
Very nice and neat place to stay that I would definitely recommend to everyone.
Delicious. Calm atmosphere. Silence is amazing. No trucks or traffic rushing by. Tasty dinner. The owners were so hospitable.
We enjoyed our stay at Olive Grove Guest Farm, but were disappointed that even though they advertised a swimming pool, the pool was not filled up and so we couldn't swim upon arrival. It was a very hot day and I had specifically booked somewhere with a pool for this reason. I feel that they should let people know if the pool is out of order. Other than that, we had a good night's sleep and my child enjoyed their meal. The hosts were very friendly.
A warm welcome. Clean and comfortable facilities. Lovely visit around the barbecue fires.
The most mouthwatering dinner ever. Highly recommended. They are heart people, stay a few nights. Ask for a braai packet. We had a great time, and the grilled cake across the road is a must.
My son and I had a really nice sleepover, dinner, and breakfast on the way to Cape Town. It's the second time I've booked this guest farm and would use it again in the future.
Hot meal on arrival, hot bed, hot water and nice breakfast on departure. Friendly reception.
Staff are friendly, the rooms are comfortable. Doggy enjoyed the surroundings and the walk to the dam. Totally pet friendly. Seeing and hearing the well-cared-for sheep brings a sense of well-being. Most notable is that the smell of farm animals is not present at all, just good karoo air. The diner is something special, these folks know how to prepare lamb dishes. The quantities are good. There is no menu but whatever they are cooking you can rest assured that it will be excellent.

Marietjie very helpful with extra freezer facilities and bought a delicious Karoo lamb from them.
Kindest, warm hearted people. It was now a treat in the quiet Karoo air. Thank you aunt and uncle for the nice stay.
Thank you for the most excellent stay, we loved your accommodation! (PS: The lamb curry was really great too!).
Very friendly and helpful hosts, stunning spot, pet friendly, even my fourlegged kids had a great experience!
Was very nice.
The owners are very friendly and welcoming.
Very nice, arrived late and they made us feel welcome!
Well received after our late check-in. The owner offered dinner. A good place to overnight and braai. Some distance from town and restaurants, so take that into account.
Terribly delicious food. Nice, clean rooms. Beautiful surroundings. Value for money.
Good value, definitely worth staying over there.
It was a lovely stop.
Was a great evening, and plenty of room for our dogs! I'm staying right there on my way down to the Cape!
Hospitable and really try to make you feel at home.
I have been staying on Olive Grove for years (previously it was for work purposes). Unfortunately (and fortunately) the farm changed hands and the 2nd owner (since we stayed there) badly neglected the guest places and the farm. Thank you for the hospitality, and Olive Grove is again a place we would like to stay - the hospitality also makes it extra special. We had booked dinner in advance, as clearly mentioned on the booking app, but unfortunately you only get people who can't read properly and 'insisted' on dinner - we then had one lamb shank too few. The dinners are top notch and can definitely be recommended - please book. just in advance!
It was a quick stop, but I could have easily stayed longer. The farm is very quiet and safe.
What a welcome seat when you get off the tarmac and suddenly start driving between the Olive trees, then the oasis of goen grass and the cutest houses and accommodation units. Step inside and the Afrikaans language welcomes you warmly and the conversation does not stop. Finally you get to the apartment - cool, clean and you just want to fall on the bed, but no, there is too much to see, climb up the hill and take in the view. Walk among the olive trees and touch the olives that will come to our tables in a bottle by next month. The most delicious rain falls in the late afternoon. The dinner is delicious and there is a large selection of wines available. Feel free to stop if you are on your way to Cape or George, sleep over, it's worth it.
I was often called and asked, among other things, if I wanted dinner served, or barbecue, with a choice of meat provided or to bring my own. On arrival my fire was lit and staff waiting to welcome me, just before 8 pm.
Refrigerator not working. No TV (decoder apparently stolen). Shower door leaks water on floor.
We really enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and atmosphere, the excellent service and delicious breakfast. I can definitely recommend it.
Here you can really rest and just enjoy everything.
The owners of Olive Grove is what makes this a special stay. Dinner is fantastic!
Good accommodation for overnight or even weekend break. Cottages well furnished.
The houses are very cute. We were in Chalet 5. Nature is breathtakingly beautiful. The houses were full of flies, alive and dead. The water pressure in the shower was very weak, you scramble around between the drops to get wet. And there is no fan or air conditioner in the master bedrooms - air conditioner is in the kitchen. If the little things are fixed it will be a great place.
The room was spacious and well-equipped. Unfortunately, the coffee mugs had a strange smell (made me wonder if the cups were dried with a cleaning rag) and the white sheets/duvet cover had a few marks on it.
The Karoo was 40 degrees when we arrived. We all understand "loadshedding", but when the power did come on, the air conditioner was ineffective, (a very old unit?) and the master bedroom had no fan at all. So the night was uncomfortable. The general impression is one of past glory, and it was disappointing that there were no olives available on an olive farm.
Was a lovely little place to stop for the evening.
People very pleasant, but everything is basic and very old. No aircon in rooms.
Ownership/management changed in Dec 22 and I think they are still finding their feet.
First, we spoke our mother tongue Afrikaans but the owners kept responding in English but spoke Afrikaans amongst each other. We ordered the lamb chops in advance and were told we were going to get it, but disappointingly got bobotie which was not tasty at all. It was dry, the portions were for a 10-year-old and we paid R160 per plate. We were not happy at all. The only thing we enjoyed was the drive into the place and the sunrise, to be honest.
The pool has not been cleaned in years. Box milk is not fresh milk. The rusk that was advertised was not there. Was expecting a king-size bed as in my booking, but it's a regular double bed. It makes a big difference if you are 2m tall.
When you are tired from driving, you should not stay at The Olive Grove, because one still needs loads of energy to walk to the reception numerous times. What is positive is that you can easily locate the management at reception, because they sit there and visit. On arrival we were explained that our accommodation was the third door on the right and that it was unlocked. I then had to walk back and say it was closed. They then said I should just push it open hard, it's not locked. I then walked all the way back to reception and told them it was really closed. Then at least one this time got up to unlock the door for us. Over the phone, we were told that the barbecue fire would be lit early, because we would get barbecue. We were really looking forward to this hospitality. We then got a bag of wood, flash that didn't want to work and meat we had to grill. After we had to walk to the reception a few more times to find out about the blitz, exchange the creepy dirty plates for clean ones and ask for a grill tong, we could start grilling. Management repeatedly said sorry and blamed the workers. Maybe they need to interrupt their socializing sessions more and monitor their staff.
This is accommodation so right after one's heart.
Beautiful farm with excellent service! We booked the self-catering chalet and really enjoyed it. The farm is so much more than just an ordinary overnight option. You just want to get there early enough to be able to have a good time. There were extraordinary floods in the area and the management even accompanied us with their vans to get through the washouts. We will definitely return!
One word: fantastic.
Very nice environment, quiet and peaceful. Will definitely stay at Olive Grove again.
We had a very nice stay. Thank you very much.
Enjoyed the stay, and everyone made a big fuss of our dog Toto.
Quiet and tidy, friendly service!
We only stayed overnight, but it is a beautiful farm with the most beautiful olive groves and I would have liked to stay longer. Children can play freely on the farm, there is also a swimming pool. Green grass, well cared for. We had breakfast, it was very reasonable (R75 an adult, R35 a child).
Cute little houses. Very neat.
Quiet, friendly and breathtaking.
We enjoyed our stay - convenient, comfortable.
Very hospitable. Dead silent. Breathtakingly beautiful views. Great walking tour done.
Avoid no 14. Residents lag behind, but the rest is great.
100% recommended!
Rooms were very neat and dinner was very pleasant! Wonderfully quiet on the farm!
We enjoyed the farm so much! Nesca was so helpful and hospitable! Our children enjoyed the beautiful lawns and space for cycling. The pool area is also very well laid out. Best memories for our family! Can really recommend Olive Grove.
We had a great time and slept. The place is very neat and well-kept. Rooms are spacious and modern. Too bad the meals work out to be a bit expensive.
Lots of room for little ones to stretch their legs and burn off some energy. The houses are well furnished and tidy. We will go again.
Our dinner was clearly pre-made and frozen. Although flavorful, it was not heated properly and was therefore served to us cold. Out of courtesy I did not bring this to the attention of management.
Quiet atmosphere, friendly reception, tidy room, enough space to ride a bike or walk. Delicious Olive chutney and other products. Great dinner, just think it works out too expensive. But the friendly service makes up for it. Thank you.
Value for money Karoo silence with everything you need.
At least there is no starry view like the Karoo at night. The farm is worth it for a lovely overnight place. Friendly and professional.
Some of the room walls can be painted over. Was a nice experience. Friendly people. Good food was served.
Loadshedding has been a part of our lives for some time. Safe candle lighters (and not a bowl with dripped wax in them) are a must! Rechargeable lights were in cottage 4 and room 12 but they did not work. Quite difficult after a long day on the road with a baby and you have to struggle in the dark!
We enjoyed our overnight stay, the mattresses could have been more comfortable and a few niggles. A little neglected but do understand its part of taking over a new venture and getting settled. Will try it again.
Too bad there was no dinner. Buertkrag got the blame.
Our bedding in our unit was not changed or cleaned. Smelled like sweat and one of the duvets had blood on it. The toilet in unit 6 is broken and kept running all night.
I would not recommend anyone to sleep there. Chalets are curbed on the inside. The bed in the room was slept through. The dinner they provided me for R100 was pathetic and tasteless. It consisted of a pudding bowl of lasagna and a pudding bowl of Greek salad. When I complained, the receptionist laughed at me. I hear her saying over the phone here is one guest, but he is complaining about nonsense. They can charge more and provide a better dinner because they are so far out of town. Last year I slept at another place and the rooms and dinner were top notch. Olive Grove won't see me again!
When we passed through the entrance gate, a foreman was waiting for us and indicated the route to the reception/sleeping place by a drift and by a river. The road was extremely impassable, with loose stones and middle man and we were extremely surprised how he could expect us to drive through a wide, strong flowing river and turned back to the gate. This time his story is different, we drove the wrong way and had to go around the top, again through the drift, but then right instead of left and this time we found ourselves on a stone slab with incredibly sharp stones. I contacted the office and stated that if this was the only way, we couldn't get to them with 2 sedans and would have to find accommodation elsewhere. The foreman came by with 2 4x4 vans and even they were moving with great difficulty. Early in the morning I also talked to the lady (Neska) about dinner and she didn't mention anything about heavy rain or bad road. I mentioned to her that we were going to ask for the money already paid for the night, because they should warn prospective guests that the road is very bad, after which she mentioned that we should have tried again. When I mentioned that my car can't climb stairs, she put the phone down to my ear. The foreman mentioned heavy rains they had, but this road we suspect was already chronically in bad shape. The whole situation left us dumbfounded. The sun was setting and we had no place to sleep or food for the night. Why not offer to leave our vehicles there in the field and drive us to our sleeping place in a 4x4? We then returned to Beaufort West and found other accommodation.
See stars.
The surroundings are very nice and everything is tidy and the staff pleasant.
Beautiful olive farm. Quiet, clean and convenient. Will definitely come again!
Most beautiful, most beautiful beautiful Karoo. Stay was perfect. Friendliest people. Will definitely stay there again.
Safe, clean, delicious food and friendly people.
Olive Grove Guest Farm is perfectly located to connect with the tranquility and fullness of life. Zille is a person of heart and provides 100% for one's needs.
Best place for a quiet getaway.
Enjoyed sleeping over on the beautiful farm. The braai facilities were great. Could also order all the food from them in advance. It worked very well for our family.
And my little dog was welcome there. We go everywhere together.
Stayed here 12 years back too. Received very good service, ordered a nice braai pack and was then able to braai soon, also had a nice hot breakfast that evening and the next morning. Perfect halfway stop. Everyone friendly. Would love to stay longer next time and then take a day trip to Karoo National Park. Fully furnished unit on beautiful olive farm.
Everything perfect. Bodywash is the best ever. Towels unfortunately hard and not fresh smelling.
See stars.
Service was great. They even helped us in the late afternoon with a baby bath for our little team.
Slept very well and peacefully. Would recommend anytime.
Special place. Calm, quiet. Lovely pool. Drink tea under the massive old trees in front of your sleeping place - just different. Walk the short route over the hill, or between the vineyards. Very friendly reception.
Quiet in the middle of the Karoo.
Was definitely not like the first time. But not unacceptable. Their Covid regulations are definitely not in place. Enter rooms without masks. But otherwise okay.
Great place to stay overnight. Quiet, only night sounds audible.
The bedrooms in the unit were tidy with quality bedding. The bathroom's shower leaked through the partition so that a large part of the floor was under water. The facilities in the kitchen and the general finish of the unit were outdated. The TV is very small by today's standards and the channels very limited. The environment is indeed extremely beautiful, with a beautiful sunset.
Such a beautiful stay - after a long day on the road, it’s a nice space to recharge in nature.
Nice quiet and friendly reception.
Had a great time, swam so well and facilities were clean and tidy. Nice breakfast and friendly people. Cute shop full of olive products. Will definitely stay there again.
Peaceful and quiet atmosphere after a long demanding drive. The room was clean and tidy, had a delicious breakfast. Definitely a high recommendation.
Great stay on our way back from George to Kimberley.
Wonderful property and genuine Karoo hospitality - thank you very much.
Olive Grove Guest Farm is a very nice, neat and peaceful place to sleep between Gauteng and the Cape. It was our second time staying there and each time we were received very kindly. Food is very tasty and rooms very clean and tidy. Would recommend to anyone.

Very nice stay. Good service and great food. Lovely swim in the pool with nice chairs to lie down and relax. One of my favourite places to stop on the way to Cape Town.
Nice, quiet and convenient near the road.
Would love to stay there again in the future and relax in a nice environment.
Pet friendly.
Very peaceful and quiet and safe. Nice and affordable breakfast.

Where there is water, there is life! About 20 km outside Beaufort West on the N12 you will find a gem hidden in a dry river bed full of sweet thorn trees. Huge olive groves lead to tourist accommodation located on the slope all along the groves. Each cottage is surrounded by lovely lawns and large shade trees that are placed in such a way that there is also shade for your car. Facilities are not new, but very well equipped and maintained. There is an outdoor braai for which ample olive tree logs are provided which make good coals. A 2 km long walking trail through the river forest leads to a large pond from which the farm is spread. On your return, there is a medium-sized swimming pool and recreation area that is equally well laid out and equipped.
Well located whether you drive on the N1 or the N12. Nice breakfast. Beautiful pool and comfortable units for relaxation.
The farm was so beautiful and we really enjoyed it but the units need TLC. The furniture is old, the lights didn't work and quite a few power plugs were gone.
Sufficient and comfortable overnight accommodation. Not suitable for self catering.
The cottage we stayed in could have been cleaner - the dish towels they leave for you are full of holes. The freezer part of the small fridge was not clean, the fridge was full of fingerprints and we didn't get any sleep over a loose plate on the roof. They tried to fix it the day before, but it took 5 minutes of their time and they didn't quite get it right. They have to look after their maintenance. But still a peaceful place that is very beautiful.
If possible, I always plan my trip in such a way as to create a chance to sleep on the farm. The olive trees talk to you ─ are like a piece of green in the middle of the Karoo. It reminds me of those words, "He makes me lie down in green pastures."
Although water is limited, Olive Grove has a patch of green grass and lovely trees! After a lot of driving it was nice to enjoy this oasis in the middle of the Karoo.
People received us kindly with excellent service throughout. Rooms are neat and well appointed.
Oasis in the desert. Worlds away from the city's hustle and bustle.
Clean, tidy, stars will definitely recommend Olive Grove to family and friends. The staff are friendly and helpful, went out of their way to make it comfortable for us. Dinner was delicious. They will definitely see us again.
We have stayed at Olive Grove several times. The farm is located near Beaufort West, yet far enough away that you can experience the absolute silence of a Karoo farm. There are beautiful hiking trails, 7 km and 13 km. I was alone in the field, yet I felt very safe. After the walk, I was able to cool off in the pool. You can also bring your mountain bike. The meals were unbeatable. Delicious game and chicken pies, as well as a three course meal. The farmyard is tree-lined with orchards, olive trees right in front of your room. But best of all is to experience the silence as the sun sets. The stay for 2 nights was also very reasonable.
The service I received from Dawina was excellent and very friendly. The rooms and chalets are comfortable and a cup of fresh milk is left for you in the fridge. The meals, I had dinner and breakfast, were delicious. I'll go back any day.
We had a great stay. The room was beautiful and the food amazing!
Very helpful staff. Nicely furnished house. The dinner and breakfast were very nice. Will definitely stay there again.
Friendly people, helpful, good food, clean and tidy accommodation. Our new overnight stop in the Karoo.
It is a beautiful place, very safe with excellent service and a very pleasant place to rest. The service was so friendly and the food was delicious and absolute value for money. I would recommend it to any person. Thank you very much.
Staff were absolutely a delight! We booked dinner and breakfast and both meals were excellent! We have nothing bad to say about Olive Grove Guest Farm. We, myself, my husband and Jakes (our 5 year old Jack Russell) were happy from the minute we arrived until we left. Unfortunately we only spend one night there but will definitely stay again if we are in that area.
Friendly customer service. Neat and comfortable overnight stop.
Truly a lovely place with lovely people. Unit is spacious. The only problem is the water pressure if you want to take a shower. The pressure is very weak. We really enjoyed the rest.
Too nice, just needs new bedding because there are holes in it and a warm blanket. Feel unsafe with black tape wrapped around the remote.
Very quiet accommodation with lots of nice meals available. The braai facilities were excellent and the service friendly and helpful.
This is the 5th time we stayed there. As usual, very neat. Was a little disappointed with the meal. It's the first time we've had the light meal, previously had the 3 course meal which was excellent. The pies with the vegetables and rice were very dry.
Lovely accommodation. Would definitely recommend their dinner. Only stayed over for one night, will try to stay longer next time.
The farm in the middle of the Karoo is a lovely green oasis and peaceful quiet environment away from the hustle and bustle. Dinner here was very nice and the lamb shank the best ever. No noise at night makes it the ideal stopover after a long day on the road. Would recommend Olive Grove anytime.
Only quickly left on the way to the Cape. The room was clean and tidy with enough warm blankets and towels. The staff were also friendly and helpful. The road to the farm seems to get a lot of attention, but people with low or luxury cars may still think it's too rough.
A peaceful farm environment with friendly service. A good experience every time.
The guest house offers tranquil accommodation in the Karoo and is only a few kilometers from the Meiringspoort road. Staff are very friendly and helpful and dinner and breakfast are value for money.
Olive Grove was a pleasant cremation. Dawina was always very helpful and friendly. The accommodation is excellent and the meals were delicious. The tranquility on this olive farm stays with me every day. Will definitely use Olive Grove again on future tours.
It was a pleasant stay with very friendly people who are happy to help where they can.
A gem of a place to stay! Will never stay anywhere else in Beaufort West again.
Very well located, quiet, beautiful surroundings and spacious rooms. Restaurant with very good food. Staff is very friendly.
Friendly, clean and convenient accommodation.
We were received very kindly! Unit very clean and comfortable!
Even though we only stayed one night, everything was great, from the reception to the goodbye. Thank you very much for the delicious food and everyone's hospitality. Will definitely visit again.

Friendly reception and excellent service, thank you very much. Would have liked to stay longer.
Lovely, peaceful night's rest. Safe area and friendly staff.
We really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and the clean Karoo air. The food was top notch - especially the lamb shank! The beautiful, clean pool was a real treat during the heat wave we experienced during our stay. The peacocks and large mountain tortoises in the olive groves were also an experience.
Staff friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent.
We stayed one night. The dinner was deliciously prepared and the reception was friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and tidy and the peaceful Karoo silence was wonderful.
Surprised to find that our unit was not a self catering unit. However the staff were only too happy to set out everything necessary for a braai of amazing Karoo lamb in the boma.
It is the most peaceful environment, wonderful among the Olive trees, wonderful feeling of freedom. Here you can relax.
If you are looking for the lovely Karoo Farm experience the OIive Grove is the place for you.
Reception was very friendly and efficient. Beautiful Karoo location, with lovely swimming pool. The management/staff are very friendly and well informed about the area. Breakfast was delicious and we would definitely like to spend the night there again. Thank you.
Wonderfully peaceful. Top shelf food.
Like an oasis in a dessert. Unexpected and a big surprise! Great, air-conditioned units, swimming pool, beautiful view, delicious food!

The rooms met our need for an overnight stay. The dinner served was excellent and good value for money. Staff very friendly and helpful.
WiFi only works for 2 minutes. Would also recommend a small fridge in room.
The chalet is quaint, but the mattress on the bed was uncomfortable. There is obviously theft that happens - as all the items in the bathroom were in holders bolted to the wall and not movable- even the liquid soap and toilet spray, which makes it very difficult to use. The toilet is also tucked into a small cramped space and when I shook out the carpet to get rid of a thorn we brought in on our shoes, the floor under the carpet in the lounge was covered in dust and sand - so had not been cleaned. Lastly, although it was nice to have a heated blanket on the bed, the actual switch was broken and open (so one can see the internals) - this is not the safest thing to have
It was lovely to be welcomed at Olive Grove Guest Farm on Christmas Day after a long day in our car. Valerie welcomed us very kindly and we were able to enjoy a delicious meal at the restaurant, table with coconuts and all set on the porch of the characterful old main building. Our unit was comfortable, clean and the beds were comfortable with firm mattresses and nice fresh linen. The farm with its animals, olive trees, hospitality and the beautiful old buildings made our stay extra nice and relaxed, we would gladly stay there again.
Lovely place run by amazing staff. Thank you!
The rooms are very neat and clean. Everything you need is available. They respond immediately if you ask or need something. The dinners and breakfasts are excellent. Would recommend anyone to book at Olive Grove Guest Farm.
We had such a nice stay that we immediately booked again for our return trip north. The host is excellent!
I've never spent a night in the Karoo before. This place I can recommend with my eyes closed. Beautiful view despite the drought. The grass on the premises was clean. Rooms beautifully clean and fresh. Very friendly people. Food? You will have an absolute feast.
Beautiful farm with beautiful accommodation and delicious breakfast!
Excellent accommodation and food. Karoo hospitality at its best.
Friendly reception. The room was clean and neat. Delicious dinner and the dining hall was something to behold. So peaceful on the farm, good night's sleep guaranteed. Breakfast was also very delicious. Friendly and helpful staff.
It was a lovely place to stay. Very nice, safe with very helpful, friendly staff. Suites were very neat and well equipped.
Thanks so much for the excellent service. Nice accommodation and unbelievable breakfast.
We were met by very friendly staff, shown to warm, comfortable rooms, and enjoyed a tasty Karoo dinner. Well worth the effort and excellent value for money. Must visit the shop for olive delights.
Great accommodation, great food, wonderful hosts and an interesting environment on a working olive farm. It is about 15 km from the N1 on the N3 to Oudtshoorn. Absolutely magic place to stay - even for more than one night. Close to the Karoo National Park. Can highly recommend.
Client service was outstanding. When coming back I only arrived at Olive Grove when it was dark and they had contact with me all the way and I received the key personally upon arrival. Thanks a lot! Our dogs traveled with us and it was great that they could run around after the long trip in a safe environment. I will definitely visit again! Just one thing that might need attention: when you drive from Oudshoorn's side in the evening, the entrance and directions are a bit unclear - I don't know why. We thought that it is behind a bust, but drove past and had to turn around. Maybe you can just look at that, but it could've been our mistake. It doesn't change anything about the lovely experience we had! 10 out of 10! Thanks again.
Reception was warm and welcoming! With delicious smells from the kitchen. Location perfect if you want to overnight in the area. Staff so friendly and service 100%. Will make this a regular stop-over.
Very friendly reception. Very relaxing atmosphere and dinner was delicious. Thank you, will be back.
Everything excellent. If I had to criticize I would say that the pillows are all very high and the bed is a bit on the old side, but the friendliness and cleanliness of the place overshadows this.
Very nice stay, will stay there again.
A friendly welcome, with firewood ready for our braai and clean, customer friendly rooms! Thank you.
Food was delicious, well looked after and definitely value for money.
We arrived late and we were still very hospitably received with a delicious dinner! The room was very comfortable and tidy with everything needed. The peace and quiet was a relief to the soul after a long day's driving. Breakfast was memorable and very tastefully prepared. The staff's positive attitude and exceptional service delivery particularly impressed me. I will definitely visit here again.
Olive Grove is a beautiful, peaceful destination with great service and delicious dinners.
We were pleasantly surprised with Olive Grove and will stay there again. They are pet friendly and have great hiking trails to follow. The food was tasty and they were very friendly and hospitable. The olive products they sell are fantastic!
Nice and quiet place to stay. Nice location and helpful staff. The lady at the reception was very helpful and friendly. Thanks to her! The swimming pool was welcome after a warm day in the Karoo. We enjoyed our stay!

Thank you for a lovely stay. Would recommend anyone to stay at Olive Grove Guest Farm.
Not only is the manager and staff very friendly, loved the dog and cats!
What a wonderful oasis after a long trip from Pretoria. The friendliness of all of the staff, the accommodation the general hospitality was more than could be asked for. The home cooked 3 course dinner was tasty and definitely value for money. Highly recommended.
I would definitely recommend Olive Grove Guest Farm - I have never experienced such clean and well-appointed self-catering accommodation with beautiful scenery and a peaceful atmosphere. The air conditioners in the chalets were already on when we arrived on a sweltering hot day and we were able to cool off in the chalets as well as the beautiful swimming pool.
Olive Grove exceeded all our expectations. The unit was spacious, neat and beautifully appointed. Reception was warm and we felt at home immediately. We enjoyed delicious Karoo food at the restaurant. We will definitely be back.
Olive Grove is a wonderful play to stay the night. Their service is excellent and fast. The accommodation was also very clean and neat. I can recommend them with a calm heart to any traveller.
We will definitely stay here again. The friendly staff make you feel at home right from the start.
Shame we couldn't have stayed longer. We will be back.
What a peaceful oasis after a long journey. So beautiful, very peaceful and comfortable. The food (dinner and breakfast) was delicious. We will definitely spend the night there again, even if it means we have to take the detour, because we were on our way to Cape Town. It's totally worth it.
I have stayed here on several occasions now and this is one of the best value for money guest houses I have stayed at. The service is excellent.
Incredibly beautiful place between something and nowhere. Will definitely stay there again in the future. Many thanks for all the braai facilities and incredible treats around the braai! You are excellent and think of everyone's needs. Keep up the good work - we will be sure to tell everyone how wonderful it is to stay with you.
It was our 4th stay on this beautiful farm. Our unit met all needs and was a good place to stay for us and our dogs / parakeet on our way to Pretoria. The dinner was delicious with such nice staff. The olive products were good gifts for the stay-at-homes and for us. The standalone units are ideal for travelers with pets.
Welcome to the long road. Neat and quiet. Great service and accommodation.
We are truly very impressed with Olive Grove. The self-catering units are very neat and well furnished. There are towels, a hairdryer and extras in the kitchen such as coffee, sugar, milk, biscuits, salt, pepper etc. It's safe and the children can play outside and run around. We really enjoyed the peaceful farm atmosphere and will definitely visit Olive Grove again in the future. Also compliments to the management. We pre-arranged braai packs and wood and they were already neatly and freshly placed in the fridge when we arrived. If I can make just one small suggestion: Plastic bowls and cups in the kitchen. We have a 2 year old and this would come in handy.
Nice on the farm. The olive groves were very interesting. Wildlife watching can also be fun if you spend more than one night.
Very tidy, good service and pleasant atmosphere. With booking dinner (lamb shanks) was confirmed as well as week before stay. So was very disappointed that the dinner was a lamb stew and not shanks as booked. Change without discussing with us. We were informed when we arrived the dinner had been changed. However, we had no choice but to eat the lamb stew as there are no restaurants nearby.
Olive Grove Guest Farm was a very good choice. It is beautiful, neat and very peaceful there. Will definitely stay there again in the future.
It was the perfect stop for the end of a vacation! Delicious and so beautiful there! One small thing. They might work on kids menu. We will definitely stay there again.
We have stayed at Olive Grove 4 times and we feel that the atmosphere has changed. The people are still welcoming and the food delicious, but it was much more "homely" and warm and the food was outstanding the previous times. I can't find anything wrong, but it's not the same standard.
The chalet was very cold with only a panel heater in the room. If you switch the air-conditioning to heat, it trips the power. The TV had no sound.
The location was not ideal for an overnight to Cape Town, but it was quiet and peaceful. The dinner was good and the service very pleasant and efficient. The room needed maintenance.
Hospitable and friendly. Food was delicious. Had the privilege of undertaking a farm tour with the owner. Great experience, learned a lot.
Olive Grove is a fantastic overnight stop in the beauty of nature. There is so much beauty to enjoy while staying there and the service and facilities are top quality. Will definitely book there again in the future.
Friendly welcome, everything we needed, beautiful hiking trail and challenging mountain bike trail - enjoyed it!
Good value for money! The dinner is definitely recommended! The staff do their job well!
The owner was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend the guest farm to anyone.
It is peaceful, especially after a long and hot drive. The air conditioner makes a big difference. It was nice to hear the farm sounds. I recommend it.
We stayed one night at Olive Grove, in one of the cottages. It's neat, clean, beautiful and quiet. The owner is friendly and has the most beautiful big black dog (Belgian Shepherd dog) in the world.
Had a wonderful stay. They may need to be equipped just a little bit more for load shedding - candles, gas stove etc.
The service was great and everything was neat and clean. The meals were beautifully presented and delicious.
Convenient and easily accessible. High quality accommodation. Food above average.
Clean accommodation with excellent meals. Probably most suited to holiday travellers.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. There were just a lot of mosquitos, mesh in front of windows would help.
Our overnight stay at Olive Grove was just wonderful! The braai sandwiches, greek salad and braai pack was fresh and fabulous and we had a wonderful braai under the stars. Still as beautifully kept as 6 years ago. Well done and thank you for a lovely experience.
We stayed at Olive Grove on our way to Cape Town from Johannesburg, but will plan to stay two nights in the future. Excellent facilities, safe play area for children (including a lovely swimming pool), and the best lamb shank for dinner you will find in the Karoo. We were on vacation even before we reached our final destination! We cannot recommend Olive Grove enough.
Very pleasant people and the place is very clean. Very nice surroundings and the breakfast was very nice as well as the shop. Will definitely stay there again.
Very tasty Karoo meals and very clean and tidy.
Quiet and peaceful. Everything worked fine. Rooms were clean and tidy. Service was prompt and friendly.
Nice for small children with the farm animals. Friendly people and good food.
Outstanding. Friendly service, good meals and neat facilities. Will definitely stay here again!
