A fantastic experience!
This is a beautiful place in the heart of the town. Each cottage is private and has a lovely outdoor sitting area. Inside is spacious yet cozy and very well equipped and very tidy. I can highly recommend this place.
Was even more beautiful than in the photos - Hostess' customer service and welcome was great - She made us feel at home straight away and they really go "the extra mile". The directions to get there were easy - Kol Kol fire bath is a winner - She also provided us with a list of activities and things to do in the area - We will definitely be visiting again, this time only for longer!
One night is far too short to fully enjoy all possibilities.

For sure! Of the many places we've stayed, this might be the first time we couldn't think of anything that could be improved. The private pool and hot tub is definitely a winner.
This is a beautiful place to stay. Lovely private dipping pool and hot tub. Great braai facilities and relaxation areas. The bed is very comfortable, the kitchen is well-equipped with lots of thoughtful and tasteful touches. There is a beautiful vegetable garden and shop items available. Great indoor and outdoor showers. Close to town but very secure and private too. The only small downside was in very hot weather it is difficult to get the room temperature down to a level that is comfortable enough to sleep deeply, especially when mosquitoes are around. Maybe a ceiling fan in addition to the portable fan would help, as I think installing effective air conditioning would require a lot of work to seal the room/windows effectively. Other than that, a very nice place to stay in Montagu with fantastic hosting by Wanda and Johann.
Fabulously appointed cottage with meticulous care taken by the hosts over every detail from a welcome drink to farm eggs, rusks and even warm gowns for the chilly mornings. The outdoor area is wonderful for relaxing in the sunshine or enjoying a braai. I would highly recommend!

It was a special stay - actually more than just accommodation, it's a whole experience! We stayed in the Olive unit. It was neat and very clean. The bedding and towels are top quality. The rusks and farm fresh eggs were a hit. Very well equipped and really felt like a Little Karoo house, only with all the nice modern things that make one relax comfortably. 5 out of 5!

We had a wonderful stay, everything was perfect: the amenities, the KolKol hot tub, and the accommodation were all top-notch.
We went to Montagu for a 50th birthday, and stayed at Olive Stone. The cottages are really very nice and comfortable and close to everything. We're just sorry we didn't have enough time to use the hot tub, will definitely have to go back! Can wholeheartedly recommend it.
There are few self-catering "cottages" in South Africa where the owners put so much effort into creating a fantastic stay experience.

The location of Olive Stone is perfectly situated, accommodation in town but on a farm. You can walk anywhere and feel safe at all times. The cottages have only the best inside, from linen to everything you need in the house, biscuits, coffee, milk and enough wood for the fire and fireplace. The hostess, Wanda, is excellent and we will definitely stay here again.

Olive Stone ticks all the boxes for a perfect self-catering break and is one of my top self-catering places in SA. Highly recommend this little gem!

If you want to spoil yourself, book this cottage, you will not regret it! The cottage is beautiful and with the amount of detail inside, the host has really thought of everything. Hooks to hang wet towels or swimsuits, nice towels and enough towels, nice soaps and lotion. A nice hot outside shower, while listening to the bird. The plunge pool is in such a beautiful setting, cool and refreshing we even used it in the rain. We had farm eggs and homemade rusks waiting for us on arrival. We didn't grill but regretted it, you will also find a nice big outside-covered dining room table if you do decide to grill. This will also be a perfect "honeymoon" cottage as it is completely private with a wall around it. One of my top stays ever and definitely one I will go back to even if I have to make a special trip to Montagu! Lastly, do not book just one evening, you will regret it!

It's been a long time since I can say that a stay was perfect. This is one of those times. Our unit had so many personal touches that just made everything feel special. The fact that it's pet friendly is a huge bonus. Loved the stay, I wish it was longer.

The cottage and entire farm setting are beautiful. The warm welcome by Wanda set this magical experience. The accommodation is faultless with attention to detail, comfort, privacy, and peace. The stunning private plunge pool is very special. And being able to harvest fresh produce from the edible garden was superb. Wanda was incredibly accommodating with personal requests and her warmth and kindness added to our awesome experience. We plan to return, hopefully very soon!
A wonderful break with my mother and daughters (girls' weekend). Olive Stone Farm & Cottage is just one fantastic getaway spot with the most delicious swimming pool and Wanda goes out of her way to make your visit very special!
We had such a great stay at Olive Stone for our wedding anniversary. The cottage is fantastically equipped with everything you need. The outdoor dining room and plunge pool were definitely a highlight as was the outdoor shower. We would definitely go again and can't recommend it enough! Farm life in town has never been so fun.

We wanted for nothing. The attention to detail in the cottage is superb. It is totally private. We didn't use the pool (too cold) but the water is crystal clear. The indoor fire, albeit a bit "smokey", was amazing as was the small braai outside. The hosts are first class. It was a fabulous weekend away.

This is one of the best self-catering stays we've ever enjoyed. The accommodation is superb, the comfort is outstanding, and the hosts are wonderfully friendly and obliging. We were provided with farm-fresh eggs, vegetables from the garden and olive oil from the farm to use in our cooking. We would love to spend a week here, exploring the surrounding country. Next time!

Olive Stone Farm and Cottages is tucked away in between the beautiful olive trees in Montagu! The perfect getaway not too far from Cape Town. We loved the cosy fireplace for the cold winter evening and the fresh farm eggs for breakfast, such a gem in Montagu!

Very friendly welcome, beautiful spacious cottage with private front garden and lovely splash pool. Had such a great time here and relaxed, and can't wait to go back. Don't leave until you've tasted and bought some of their homemade cheese and olive oil! From the books! A real oasis in the licorice - and can highly recommend!

Our visit to Montagu, with specific reference to our accommodation in the Olive Cottage, was off the books! The farm is in the middle of the town, yet you experience a wonderful farm feeling. The mountain view beyond the olive groves was beautiful, and not to mention the little spring water that creates a peaceful atmosphere. My husband and I had fun greeting the geese, chickens and cattle as we walked through the orchards on our way to the vegetable garden where we could help ourselves to fresh produce. Our little house was beautifully tidy, and for me perfectly decorated with the loveliest bedding and appropriate furniture. The fireplace was deliciously cozy and the fresh eggs and milk magically soothed us in the morning. To top it all off, I washed my hands extra often with the nice soaps and creams that were there. Everything was just super beautiful and super delicious. So many thanks to the friendly owners and also the website. We will definitely be back to test out the outdoor barbecue and splash pool in the summer.

What an exceptional experience. The images doesn't do any justice to how exquisite Olive Stone Farm really is. You are in the centre of the little town, yet feel that you are somewhere out in the middle of nowhere. Everything you need is available in the cottage and the fact that you can help yourself to a little veggie garden, and get fresh milk from the wandering cow means that you don't have to leave this tranquil space at all. The bed is super comfy (which is always a plus) and the fire place makes it so cosy and nostalgic. We regret only staying for one night, but hope to be back real soon and to stay a little longer! Definitely highly recommend this gem in Montagu!
What was nice is that even though you feel like you are on a remote farm in the middle of nowhere, the shops and all tourist attractions are a walking distance from you. The security and privacy is amazing. The facilities and overall stay was so fantastic, they really look after you.
We were so pleasantly surprised that we immediately asked the owners if we could book an extra night. Without a doubt they said yes, but we had to move to another unit. When we came back in the afternoon after a day out, they pulled all our stuff and nothing was gone. Even had our clothes washed at no cost and hung up for us. This is fantastic service. The cottage is so safe you can sleep with your doors and windows open. And on a hot day, the splash pool is great to cool off in. Will definitely go again.

Fantastic stay. My wife and I really enjoyed the tranquil yet central location. We loved the cottage architecture. It was clean and safe and the owners were always around for a chat. We will definitely be back.
Don't make the mistake of staying here for just one night! Andrew and Elaine have created something wonderful here. One will be able to stay here for a week and rest properly. Literally one of the best places we have stayed at. The cottages are among hundreds of olive trees, the shower outside is among the olive trees, you can swim in a pond that pumps river water and you eat fresh salad from their own vegetable garden. The next morning, Andrew provides fresh eggs from the chickens on the farm. Much more beautiful than in the photos. Will recommend for sure.
We really enjoyed our time at Olive Stone Farm. The house is very nice, practically laid out, well equipped, neat and clean. Andrew and Elaine immediately made us feel at home with their hospitality. There was fresh farm milk and farm eggs in the fridge for us to use. We were also able to pick lettuce in their vegetable garden. You don't feel like you are in the village at all, the cow and sheep often grazed in the field in front of our house. We enjoyed the outdoor shower and splash pool to cool off in the heat. If you go to Montagu, you must stay here. You will not regret it!

We were very surprised with the layout of the place, if there is what one needs. We really liked the 'attention to detail' and felt very special when there was fresh farm milk and eggs (brings me back to the countryside as a child). The outdoor light shower was heavenly, especially for a late night shower under the stars. Plekkie is very centrally located, you are in the town, but also not in the town. Very cozy feeling and the place is also private. Will definitely visit them again.
The little placd is neatly equipped with everything you need and more. Ideal for a getaway if you need to relax. There is a veggie garden where you can help yourself with lettuce, tomatoes etc. The free range chickens produce eggs and there is even a dairy cow (we sommer called her "Daisy") for fresh farm milk in the fridge. Couldn't have asked for a better place for some R&R.
