It was an absolutely beautiful stay, definitely one to return to in the future! Peaceful, private setting in a beautiful cottage. Also helped us out when our car's battery had died, which just adds to the wonderful experience!
I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wishes to escape their busy life.
We stayed at Olivia's for two nights, en route to the Kruger. This is a gem, nestled in the heart of the Magoebaskloof. There is a stretch of dirt road to the cabin but we were able to climb it out easily with our Rav, pulling a Town & Country trailer (rooftop tent and all). The unit itself offers more than enough and is decorated beautifully. You are welcomed with a huge pot of garden-picked flowers and massive wood frame windows, offering a sense of indoor outdoor living. It's tranquil and neat with a vast variety of fauna & flora around the unit! Thank you for making this an effortless and unique experience. Be sure to see us again!
Olivia's Secret is a fantastic accommodation option. It's very nearly a 10 out of 10. Will definitely visit again and recommend. As for the accommodation itself, the place is in a very good location, rest for the soul. The unit has everything that is needed, but the bed is not up to standard for guest accommodation. We enjoyed the nature and the road to get there did not bother me personally, but I do think it would be good to inform guests in advance of the dirt road and condition which is not everyone's idea of fun.
We had a very nice stay at the unit. The unit is very private in the forest of Magoebaskloof. The unit is accessible with a small 2x4, even in light rain, but it is a two lane dirt road with a steep slope on one side, so drive carefully. The unit was very tidy and well equipped with dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave and fridge. There are also braai facilities. The area also has samango monkeys that visited the trees near the unit some mornings, and we saw a tree snake on one of the walking paths.
Was beautiful, peaceful and a great stay.
It's a beautiful, quiet, cozy place. However, I found my stay to be very unpleasant because of the drive up on the bad dirt road. I called the host before finalising the booking to ask, as I've read the reviews stating you need a 4x4. Instead, the host told me that I would be fine with a normal car, which is not true. The road leading to the cottage is bad, especially after the A47-2 marking on the road. So, unless you're seeking a 4x4 adventure, stay away from this place. You end up not enjoying the beautiful scenery and tranquility because you are annoyed from the drive up on the bad road. Also, turning into the dirt road from the main road is a bit unsafe because of the position right after a sharp curve. A traffic mirror installed could ease the stress for travellers getting onto the road.
Olivia's Secret is well located, ideal for a few days getaway. Accommodation is tasteful, clean and very comfortable. Private, with own 'splash pool' for hot days. One can spend all the time at the cottage or follow the various hiking trails and explore the scenery. I suspect Olivia's 'secret' won't stay a secret for long.
