We had a wonderful stay. The bathroom was a bit cramped for 2 people, and especially the sink was less practical. The location was quite far from restaurants, especially for the fact that you are not allowed to drink and drive. We had to walk 2 plus km to get to the nearest restaurant. These are things that bothered us personally. Otherwise I would definitely go again, and maybe book the bigger unit.

The exceptional paintings and fantastic pot gardens make this visit unforgettable. And the bonus wooden deck on the dunes provides you with a specular view of the sea from Table Mountain in the distance to Dassen Island in front and beyond. Peaceful and good for the soul. We went home in the Marilyn unit. Everything you need with quite a few treats waiting on the table for us, including delicious wine from Darling. This is a beautiful neat unit, with access to two braai facilities. Nice sea breeze. We were able to enjoy the two seats by the sea with the most beautiful view. When we return to Yzerfontein I will definitely use the accommodation again. Many thanks also for the kind hospitality of Delia.

We had the most perfect three days, our unit was beautifully decorated with everything one could possibly need, the view was breathtaking and our hosts Delia and Hennie were lovely! All the extra little spoils on arrival were greatly appreciated, which included a bottle of local wine. Would high recommend and we will definitely go back.
This place is really a gem. The sound of the waves. The unit is well equipped. It was really nice to stay here, especially with the sea view from the main bedroom. We thoroughly enjoyed the getaway. I would recommend the gem anytime.
On the Beach lives up to its name - literally a few steps from a beautiful beach. From the unit there is a lovely and easy walking route along the sea between fynbos with places to sit and take in the beautiful nature. The place is also located - about half an hour's drive to Darling as well as the West Coast National Park. The unit itself is top quality and private. Nothing is missing which in itself makes for a wonderful stay. Absolute value for money and a lovely place to break away to absolute silence and peace. Prospective guests just need to remember that a fee is charged extra for cleaning (after your stay).

From my room I could hear the waves, and smell the ocean. The beach was close enough to take a quick walk along the beach, and the views from the premises were amazing. The room was very neat and clean, and it contained everything I needed to have a relaxing stay.

Our hosts were very warm and friendly. We booked the smaller unit, but it was exactly what we needed. We loved sitting on the little patio to watch the sun go down and to walk on the beach. We also received some spoils in the room that we could enjoy. Had a lovely time!

The Marilyn room has everything you need. It is comfortable and has a beautiful view of the sea. The beach is basically on your doorstep and you can take nice long walks on the vast beach. Delia and Hennie are very nice and often came to see if we were still enjoying the holiday. We haven't had such a wonderful stay in a long time. Would recommend to anyone.
It really is on the beach. Beautiful path leading to the edge of the dune with 2 chairs from where the ocean, the waves and birds can be seen. We even saw whales playing deeper in the ocean and entertaining us for hours. We will definitely go again one day.
The accommodation is really on the beach. You have a lovely sea view from your room and veranda and then you can walk down an easy path to the beach. The two wooden armchairs at the end of the path are the highlight. Accommodation is neat, clean and very well and comfortably equipped. I was particularly impressed with the fact that there were more towels and crockery than you usually get. Not just the necessary two of als. Would go back anytime.

As a family with two adult children and companions, these two units were the ideal weekend getaway opportunity with a large covered patio that serves two units! The braai facility is excellent, but if you are serious about cooking, the kitchen is somewhat inadequate and not practical. In summary everything was delicious, perfect and very neat and clean! We honestly enjoyed it and will recommend On the Beach to everyone! Hospitality of Delia and Hennie of the best!

Our hosts, Hennie and Delia de Bod were friendly and helpful, and made us feel very welcomed. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine in our apartment. The view was breathtaking and the service couldn't be any better. We stayed in the Marilyn flat and it had everything we needed. It was definitely one of the most beautiful self-catering units we stayed in. The interiors were minimalist and extremely beautiful! One can see that they travel a lot as it's reflecting in the design. Delia changed our towels often. We're speechless about the indigenous garden. There was a lovely trail up to the beach and two beach chairs where you can watch the sunset. We just want to thank our hosts that they went out of their way to make everything so special. We would've liked to rate them above 5 stars, but seeing that we can't, we'll give it a resounding 5!

We were in the Marilyn Unit where you can't be too big as you won't fit in the shower - the shower door opens against the basin and you have to brush in and out sideways. Our stay at On the Beach was pleasant. The suite was well equipped with all the things that were needed. The location to the sea was good - a short walk to the beach. All negatives to be mentioned is that silence is a major requirement of the place. Even if children are allowed, there must be no noise as requested by the management. Preferably choose alternative accommodation in such a situation.

The bathroom is hopelessly too small and the sea view from the room we were in is next to nothing! We got ready to lie on the bed facing the sea, so I inquired beforehand if it had a sea view. I say again: you can see the sea if you stand upright by the window, otherwise not. For the rest, very nice.
