They warmly welcomed us in an open-hearted way and supported us, whatever it was. In the mornings, we got fresh peaches from the farm. If you like to hike, then you will find lots of trails. After 6 nights, we left feeling like gifted ones with the wish to come back one day.

I'm just sad we didn't discover this gem of a place sooner! You guys, some of the neatest accommodation in a long time! Beautifully laid out, with a lovely bed and strong water pressure! At first we weren't sure about the unit being a townhouse concept, but don't let that put you off! You don't even know about the neighbors next to you. Really private and cleanliness is uncle Johan's pride of the farm! Lovely long walks with animal children in the fruit orchards, to bass fishing in the Breede River. Really value for money. Uncle Johan is the best host! 10/10 for you guys. We'll see you again soon!

A very nice, peaceful and calm getaway. Host came frequently to ask about our needs/well being. Neat unit with all necessary accessories. Will be enjoyed by people who like walking and spending a quiet weekend in Robertson. Here we go again!

Large, clean unit with everything and more you need. The uncle was the kindest person on earth. Working farm, so you can enjoy a bit of farm life if you want. Go canoeing on the river for a bit. Truly life away from the city.

We really enjoyed our stay at Onder Platberg. From the time we arrived until we drove off we were spoiled with hospitality, the most beautiful views, nice hiking trails, adventures in the river and great quality family time. Our little toddler was non-stop busy there - we went paddling in the pond, and then later in the river. Our dog child also did everything together and enjoyed every moment. It's reassuring to know that our dog can also do everything together and was welcome everywhere on the farm. We are already planning our next vacation there. We would definitely recommend it to a family who likes to spend time together in nature. There is no need at all to go into town first. There is enough to keep you busy for days. All we can complain about is that we didn't stay longer.

Our stay was amazing. The host Marisa was very friendly and kind and she was very prompt if we needed anything. The farm owner Johan also checked in with us daily to see how we were enjoying our stay and he was very welcoming and encouraged us to enjoy all that the farm had to offer. Fruit picking, use of his private swimming pool, inter acting with the animals. Nothing was to much effort for anyone. We were encouraged to explore the farm as much as we liked. The break away was just what we needed and we didn't need to leave the farm to find other entertainment. Peaceful location and I would recommend Onder Platberg to anyone that wants a full escape from the city or even small town life. Thank you so much and we really enjoyed our time there.

"A 2-night stop-over in the Western Cape."

The cottages are convenient, pleasant and in a quiet location. Our aim of the trip was to meet up with friends and revisit the McGregor area. We always enjoy staying on working farms, here you are surrounded by vineyards and fruit orchards. The cottages are spacious, clean, converted farm buildings, 'langhuis' style, not each unit free-standing. A pleasant surprise were freshly picked yellow cling peaches in the fridge, delicious.

The stay was wonderful and the owners the loveliness of themselves. Just brought us delicious lamb chops with the most delicious homemade jam and even invited us for tea on Christmas Day in the most beautiful garden. Felt very at home. would love to recommend it.

We enjoyed the two evenings' visit so much. There were fresh apricots in the fridge and the farmer showed us everything on the farm, which my daughter really enjoyed. For a city kid it was really great to experience everything and we really appreciated it. It's gold from the earth people and we recommend their stay with love.

We really enjoyed our long weekend at Onder-Platberg Cottages. The silence was food for the soul. It was also the ideal base from which to explore the surrounding area. We really enjoyed our chats with the owner of the farm and learned a lot about the area from him.

My husband and I took a little break for our wedding anniversary. Nice braai area, perfect for a couple who just want to get away from the busy life. The owners are very concerned about the guests and made sure that we are happy and satisfied at all times. There are a bunch of springbok and deer which were incredibly nice to see on our morning walk. It was just what we needed. Thank you very much!

Neat, clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. It's exactly what we were looking for to stay two nights while exploring the Agterkliphoogte and Robertson area during the day.

"Farm is always nice."

For the walker and cyclist, there are more than enough paths from flat to slightly bumpy and even a mountain to tackle for walkers. On a hot day there is a nice big farm pond to cool off in. Farm yard and cottages are very clean and tidy. Our dog kids enjoyed it just as much. Just one recommendation is that owners and workers should use the road behind the cottages to walk past if there are guests. Just create more privacy and guests can enjoy a nicer breakfast in pajamas on the porch. I almost forgot - we were spoiled with freshly baked farm bread. It simply disappeared.

We enjoyed the pet-friendly farm with our dogs, nice walks between the vineyard and fruit trees. The accommodation is neat and well equipped with a nice braai area on the stoep. Very friendly farm owner and hostess who handles the rental.

Upon arrival, the farm owner was sweeping our porch because the wind was blowing quite a bit and the porch was strewn with red farm soil. It was nice to meet Uncle Johan and chat just like that with the kick-in. The cottage was well equipped with all the necessary equipment and was very clean and tidy with a nice aesthetic appearance. Everyone on the farm was so welcoming. Uncle Johan even invited us to watch the rugby at his place on Saturday and we met some of the farm family and could just have a nice chat. Everyone also really loves children on the farm and uncle Johan made a point of letting our children explore the farm. He took them to fetch eggs from the chicken coop and to greet the lambs on the farm. It was a highlight for our children. We also got a nice fresh farm bun which we devoured in minutes, because for city boys it's not something that's easily available unless you bake yourself, and who has time for that. It would be nice if there was a lawn in front of the house for the children to play on and frolic. It would also be nice if there were facilities for swimming on the farm for the children. It's a bit difficult to get to the river/dam to play in the water from the bank. I would also suggest that you take your bike with you. There are nice paths on the farm to either go for a walk or explore the farm on your bike. We will definitely go back, if only to see the people again.

The WiFi signal is a bit bad. Didn't find the apartment I booked. On a lovely apricot farm. Could walk everywhere and eat apricots. The friendliness of the owner and boys on the farm made up for it.
