Ongeag Guesthouse is a spacious, fully-equipped, self-catering double story sandstone house, surrounded by the mountains of Clarens.
The house has 3 well-appointed bedrooms. The main bedroom sleeps 4 guests in a queen-size bed and a double sleeper couch and has an en-suite bathroom which is tiled with underfloor heating. There are large windows providing this room with warm natural light, and 2 balconies afford an uninterrupted scenic view. It has under carpet heating and air conditioning.
The second bedroom has a double bed and is fitted with a sitting and study area for those who like to start the day in reading and contemplation. It also has access to the upper balcony with eastern views of the Red Mountains as well as the Maluti Mountains. Access to the en-suite bathroom of the main bedroom is through the upstairs passage. This room also has air-conditioning and under carpet heating.
A third en-suite bedroom is situated downstairs and can sleep 3 people and comes equipped with a double bed and single bed. This bedroom has access through cottage pane sliding doors to the lower balcony. Both the bedroom and bathroom are tiled with underfloor heating.
A portable single bed is also available and can be set up in any room at a moment’s notice.
An airy fully equipped open-plan kitchen fitted with a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, 4-plate stove and oven, fridge with freezer, microwave oven, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, kitchen utensils and ample cutlery and crockery. The combined lounge, dining room and living area has an open fireplace, DStv and underfloor heating, and opens through the wide sliding door onto the lower balcony. There is a choice of either using the braai on the lower balcony or the sandstone braai in the garden.
Double lock up garages with an internal staircase to the living area completes the picture of this heavenly home.

It was fantastic. Everything is there, you have power if it is loadshedding. So safe and private!
The house is excellently equipped. The WiFi was fast and knowing there was an inverter for load shedding very reassuring. We were informed beforehand exactly how everything works and where to get the keys.
We had a great time at Ongeag. The house is spacious and very comfortably furnished, the fireplace is a bonus in the cold. The location is perfect, nice and quiet, but close enough to the town and restaurants. The customer service is very good, the place was spotless and it was very easy to book. We would like to use the accommodation again in the future and definitely recommend it.

Location and house were exactly what we were looking for and got! Despite good alarm and security system, lower room is not very safe. No alarm or anti-theft. 00:30 in the morning there was someone at the window who wanted to make contact with guests inside! Was pretty bad at that time of night. Regardless, we will visit again! Regardless, Self Catering House is up against the mountain and has the most beautiful view. As soon as you push open the sliding door and gaze into the mountain, you are overwhelmed with instant peace of mind. The house is well equipped and has everything you need. The UPS has been a wonderful surprise to fight load shedding. The rooms are big and tidy. I highly recommend Regardless Self Catering House.
Easily accessible to town, but best part is being close to the mountain and the beautiful walks. very tranquil.

It was a particularly cold weekend, but with the underfloor heating as well as the fireplace it wasn't a problem at all. The view is a bonus and the location is perfect, close enough to everything but also far enough to ensure tranquility. It's the second time we've stayed there and I can definitely recommend the place.

The view from the house is simply amazing! The house is incredibly beautiful and spacious and lacks absolutely nothing! You can simply just turn up with your suitcase. Clean, tidy, spacious, and the best view in Clarens! We really enjoyed our weekend and will definitely visit again!
The underfloor heating in the rooms/bathrooms and the fireplace in the living room are wonderful. The upper 2 rooms overlook the mountains. The downstairs en suite room is very nicely located for older people - only a few steps to get up to the porch. There is a large kitchen with everything needed. The house is located very close to the town but the street is nice and quiet. In the summer, you can have a nice barbecue on the stoep that looks right at the mountain. They also have inverters that kept the TV (rugby) running during load shedding. We would definitely recommend the house!

We had a great time at Ongeag. The view from the balcony/ne alone makes the whole stay worth it. There are all possible facilities to ensure a pleasant stay, the underfloor heating and fireplace helped to make the cold weekend very comfortable. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped with everything you need. Although there are two bathrooms, there is only one shower. A second shower, especially if there is a larger group, would be convenient. We will definitely use Regardless again and definitely recommend it.
Despite having the most incredible location and views, one hardly even feels like leaving the house. Walking distance to the nature reserve, close yet far enough from the busy streets. We will not stay in another place again, everything you need is there, comfortable and deliciously warm.

We always stay in the same house when coming to Clarens as it is on a great location and very spacious with lovely gardens but this time the house was poorly cleaned and very dusty.
Regardless was more than we expected. It's a neat, spacious house with large rooms. The kitchen is equipped with everything we needed, from a dishwasher to more than enough cutlery. And then there are the verandas above and below with the most amazing view of the mountain! It's located in a quiet area, but still within walking distance of everything you want to see and do in town. It's also close to beautiful walking paths for those who want to be active. We would recommend it with confidence.

The view is very beautiful. Place was neat and safe. Owner of the house is very friendly and will definitely stay there again.
Decor very old fashioned. Downstairs bathroom shower had a bad smell. Alarm went off platform accident and security didn't show up until an hour later.

I'm not a very good winter traveler, but Ongeag was so warm and comfortable while it was cold outside and the house is very nice. If I have one criticism it is the dirt road leading to the house which is a little bit small but would have been better if it was a tar road. Would definitely book Ongeag again if we stayed in the country.

When we arrived at Ongeag we were already excited when we saw the location of the residence. However, when we opened the door, we were overwhelmed with the cleanliness and the open feeling that the residence offers. Sunlight shone through every possible window. Regardless, home is by far the best place we've ever been. Not to mention the spacious bedrooms. We were in love with the place. Every morning you could sit and drink your coffee on the deck with an incredible view of white sandstone cliffs. I would happily recommend Regardless and will definitely stay there again next time. Placed in beautiful surroundings with breathtaking views and close to walking trails. The house is spacious and extremely comfortable for a large group of people. We spend the long weekend there with our grown up children and never once do you feel like your are under each others feet. House equipped with all the necessary amnesties. Having a dishwasher was an added bonus. Going in the winter one always think that it will be freezing but not in this house. With underfloor heating, air cons, featherdown duvets and a fireplace this house was as warm as toast. Will most definitely be back. Can highly recommend.

The best way to get away for a weekend? Regardless is this place. The view is breathtaking and you are surrounded by mountains. Expect me again very soon.
This is the best place we have ever stayed. The view is "priceless". The house is a cozy house that is fully equipped. You lacked nothing. Everything was there. It's close enough to restaurants but far enough that it doesn't break the silence. I would recommend it to anyone. We felt so welcome the moment we walked in the front door. We also felt very very safe, which was nice.
