Very friendly welcome and help.
We were there for three nights for my friend's wedding which was at a different venue. We only slept on Ongegund. They accommodated us so nicely when the power was out at the venue.
Very hospitable and accommodating with earlier check-in.
From the moment we arrived, until we left, everything was just perfectly organized. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel right at home. The accommodation itself was clean, comfortable and inviting, with all the necessary amenities to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Our room offered a beautiful view of the surrounding landscape, which was a joy to wake up to every morning. As for the breakfast, it was absolutely excellent. There was a wide variety of both hot and cold options available, all freshly prepared with quality ingredients. The attention to detail and the tasty presentation of the meals made it a highlight of our day. I would highly recommend Ongegund Lodge to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with excellent service, comfortable accommodations, and an unforgettable breakfast experience. It was truly a stay we will not forget and we look forward to returning in the future.
Very quiet environment and yet centrally located. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast is included in the stay.
We wanted to end the long weekend quietly and Ongegund Lodge was one of the options. It is so quiet and peaceful with the pool, braai area and mountains as a view from the stoepie. The breakfast the next morning was one for the books. Thank you Ongegund Lodge's staff. You will see us again soon.
They went out of their way to accommodate our small group with options for meeting rooms etc.

Just regret my request for a garden room was confirmed by email by Susan on 1/8/2019, but when we got there they wanted to put us upstairs in a room with steep stairs. We asked that they please us. move, but our confirmed room was already given out, but at least could sleep in the main building in Room 4.

The room was neat and the heater, thick duvets and blankets contributed to a good night's rest. And the winter robes were wonderful. We just recommend fresh milk for the tea and coffee, and some bottled water. Another nice extra would be mats in the bathroom in front of the shower, toilet and basin. The fireplace in the dining room is wonderfu. I will book Ongegund Lodge again and I also recommend it whole-heartedly.
Clean, really clean, Many times you walk into a room and the smells of the detergent are everywhere. Towel was great and I felt safe. Breakfast was amazing. I would just suggest that they ask you on day 2 if you want the whole breakfast again because it is already too much. Nice, but a person's stomach is only so big.
The name sums it up perfectly! Unfortunate... there is not enough space here to describe the experience I discovered here. Truly a place to enjoy more by a visit. I HIGHLY recommend the Lodge!
