The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, the cabin also has a lounge and dining area. Cooking is done on the gas stove, or by the fireside, and the basic needs are fulfilled with the kitchen stocked with the basic eating and cooking utensils. A gas refrigerator and geyser is provided for guests convenience.
The cabin is lit up with lights powered by solar panels, and also works for cell phone chargers. A boma with braai facilities are available outside, and the cabin present a patio as well.
A very good 3G reception signal is available, if needed. The roads are better suitable by high clearance vehicles, but if guests do not have one, alternative transport will be provided, which them to and from the bush lodge.
Long walks, and watching the sunset and sunrise in the heart of the bush, with a good chance of seeing any 1, of the 4 species of antelope and some natural wildlife, is a given. Rock climbing for the adventurous type, as well as mountain bikers, are also welcome.

34 guests' feedbackThis place has everything we enjoy - great scenery, good birding, star-filled skies and enjoyable walks. A big plus is that they allow dogs. Came home to the city feeling completely refreshed. The cottage has everything one needs for a comfortable stay.
I'm just dissatisfied with the fact that we ask if the wasps have been sorted out, then they say yes, but when we get there they fly all over the house and the nests can be seen under the roof on the porch.
Dilapidated furniture, floors dirty, wood not pre-sited, kitchenware broken and inadequate, stairs unsafe, road very bad. No animals, definitely not value for my money. Place not up to standard as expected from such accommodation.
The evening twilight from the deck was so beautiful. The braailapa asks for hours of campfire time. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to discover all the nice things at the dam. Rosette is a friendly, enthusiastic and extremely helpful hostess. She offered for us to leave the car at her house and for her to take us down the dirt road to Boshuisie, but we believed we would make it. The last bit was then quite rougher than we expected, but she was willing to drive our vehicle out for us the next morning. My mother also forgot her cane there, and she was more than willing to help us with shipping the package. Thanks for everything, Rosette.

Stunningly located accommodation. Definitely a must for a 4x4 high clearance vehicle. Great service. Will definitely consider again.
House was amazing, perfect for calmness and relaxation. Did a nice 5 km hike, saw some wild zebras on the hike and enjoyed the birds and the monkeys. Enjoyed the road onto the farm, was challenging and fun. But you need a high-rise vehicle. Al out looking forward to our next visit.
If you want to be away from the hustle and bustle, Ons Boshuisie is the place.
The place is very well located, away from everyone with more than enough of your own privacy. You can enjoy walking everywhere on the farm without feeling scared.

Ons Boshuisie is a rustic stone and thatch cottage, with solar energy, enough for lighting, charging phones and for a laptop. A gas hob and fridge keeps items cold and a donkey boiler means you can enjoy a piping hot shower. The boma outside the cottage is great for the evening braai and I enjoyed walking on the farm, past the dam, up the koppie to see the views and to follow the zebra and impala. The hosts are very hospitable and helpful. I hope to visit again soon.
We walked on the hiking trail and admired the nature, with different trees and plants. The little pond was also a big plus and was also wonderfully peaceful with all the bird sounds around us. The donkey in which we had to make a fire made us think back to our childhood. One needs it to just get quiet again without busy streets and street lights and only nature! Our Boshuisie is perfectly located in the middle of the forest and can be recommended for sure, if you like nature and seek silence.
Ons Boshuisie, is a very quiet farm, set under a protective rocky ridge, looking out over a sweeping valley. I really liked it there. There were cows who visited us each day, and we could go hiking in search of zebra and waterbuck and other antelope.
My fiancé and I went away for the Easter Weekend with our little bunnies and we were amazed at how wonderful this place was. It is really quiet and we could hear the cows walking around with their bells around their necks. Other than that it is very quiet. Just nature all around, birds chirping. The accommodation is just what you would need for a getaway. The lighting around the fireplace was a bit too dark, so we would suggest maybe a bit more light and it will be perfect. Will definitely visit this place again. High rise vehicles are advisable.
Incredibly peaceful, a place where you quickly become human again and forget all worries!
I needed a few days of peace, quiet and isolation and that's exactly what I found. Seeing the dogs enjoying the woodland and the pond just made it more special. Everything was spotless and the house was comfortably furnished. The only pity was that I didn't have a camera handy to capture the dogs' consternation when they rushed down the pond and found a (tame and patient) Waterbuck in their swimming spot! Rosette's kindness is genuine and her patience when my city-girl side got the better of me has my deepest appreciation and gratitude.
Our wheel burst on the way to the destination. The owner quickly stepped in and helped. The accommodation is incomparable. And the fact that dogs are welcome is fantastic! They especially enjoyed swimming in the pond.
My husband and I and our dogs once again enjoyed our stay at Ons Boshuisie, it is truly a place where you can relax away from the city and its lights.

It's wonderful to be able to rest somewhere where it feels like you are alone in the world. No other people or lights around you for miles.
Our Boshuisie is a lovely place where you can find your soul again. I stayed there as a woman alone with my three dogs, and never felt unsafe. The dogs could run around freely and thoroughly enjoyed it.

What a wonderful experience to just light the donkey boiler for hot water! We also had a great time around the fire!

We had a wonderful stay in the forest cottage. The silence, animals and nature were incredible. Just what we needed to recharge our batteries. The fact that we had to make a fire for hot water and cook outside was something else and we enjoyed it. I only gave the location 3 stars for the fact that you need a 4x4 to get to the bush house. We will definitely go again.

We had a very nice family weekend at our Boshuisie, the house is fully equipped with a very peaceful atmosphere. We sat outside by the fire late into the evening talking and for the first time ever, there was enough hot water for eight people to shower on each other. If you want to get away for a bit and spend time with friends and family in nature, Ons Boshuisie is really the ideal place. Talitha and her whole family were very friendly and immediately made us feel at home. Thanks for a fantastic weekend!
