Absolutely heavenly. Home away from home. Lacked nothing, from exquisite decor, tranquil garden, heated electric blankets to working WiFi and DStv, and scrumptious meals available at Karushi just down the road. The host is top class, on the ball, friendly and warm and didn't charge us the additional per dog fee either.

A really lovely stay on the long road across country. We especially chose it because of inverter and solar panels. Warm welcome from our hosts, who also helped show us how the aircon worked. Good aircon in the main bedroom, and a ceiling fan in the other room helped immensely with the Karoo heat. A kitchenette area with an actual sink and cleaning products, biscuits, a kettle, cutlery, plates, and a microwave. No bath but a nice shower in the main en-suite. Very comfortable couches! TV in the lounge and the main bedroom. The communal outside area has lots of grassy space for the kids to expend energy after being stuck in car seats. Great value-for-money breakfast. Would absolutely book again!

The aircon's remote did not work and it was at 26°C, which was very hot on a day when it was 34°C. The shower's hot water faucet is faulty and struggled to close. Otherwise it was a very quiet and tidy place. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely go back again!
Annelene is a wonderful hostess. Friendly and helpful. Everything neat, well maintained and well furnished. Garden is beautifully creative. Breakfast in the room started the day well.

Beautiful little place. Quaintly decorated and comfortable, catering to all our needs for an overnight stay. A bonus that the host waited for us after 8pm. A definite recommended stop in Beaufort West, and if you have time, a dip in the Damcuzzi. By the way, as per the host's information, the Steers is Halaal and open 24 hours.
The purpose of our stay was just an overnight stop on our way to Cape Town. The room was neat and clean and was very comfortable.

Our cottage was the perfect pit stop. Very comfortable and has a beautiful family unit with 2 rooms. My children enjoyed themselves and had a nice swim in the damcuzzi.
We really appreciated the care that the unit was put together with. The property is spotless and the garden lovely. Annelene went out of her way to accommodate us, despite us being delayed on the road.
Our House, what a breathtaking place, the time there was just too short. We as a family enjoyed it very much after a long journey from Johannesburg. We were even able to grill delicious Karoo lamb tails for dinner. Annelene and Riaan, you have a great place. We will definitely come back again.

Very well appointed, the hostess communicated well the day before arrival. Very neat.
Just far to walk from car to apartment at back of yard. The toilet and shower are very small.

We were warmly welcomed by Riaan and Annelene. What a wonderful experience to relax in such a beautiful, peaceful apartment after a 7 hour drive on the road. They also received our 6 week old Scottish Terrier, which we had to transport for family. We also simply ordered takeaway, which was lovingly delivered for us by Annelene herself. I would recommend Ons Huisie to everyone. A must for overnight stays in Beaufort West! Thank you Annelene!

Ons Huisie is really a particularly beautiful place with a lot of attention to detail and the hostess is very friendly and helpful. It was cold and wet when we arrived and to open a cupboard and discover hot water bags was quite special. Our only complaint would be that it's quite a problem if you wanted to shower after a long day on the road, but because the geyser is on a "timing system" that didn't work properly, we had to wait about 2 hours before we could take a shower. The sofas in the family unit also need some work. You sink hopelessly too deep into the banks and especially for my elderly mother it was a problem to get up again.
We had a great night at Ons Huisie and the children really enjoyed the 'Damcuzzi'. Would stay there again anytime.
Nice, quiet and peaceful stopover on the way to the Cape. No cooking facilities. Just make sure you pack extra road food or order a takeaway. Clean and tidy place with good mattresses so you can have a great rest.
Ons Huisie's cleanliness is top notch. One can see the love and effort in the garden and visiting corners. Good coffee is a winner for me and milk in the fridge! The owners' personal attention is wonderful.

We only stayed for one night, but the place is so well appointed that it will be sufficient for more than one night. It has a warm atmosphere, is neat and clean. I would definitely stay there again.
The place is artistic, luxurious and definitely a recommendation. Downside for us though, there was no WiFi.
The decor was beautiful, unfussy and the jaccuzzi was a nice escape on a hot summer day.
Annelene was very helpful and friendly. She sent us restaurant recommendations as well as the menus to check what we wanted for dinner while we were still on our way there. At Ons Huisie we could park our car inside the premises and not outside on the street. The accommodation was very clean and tidy. There was even a nice damcuzzi to cool off in. We were able to rest well and tackle the rest of our journey the next day.
The double room is very tight to enjoy a takeaway. Family room is a treat!
Upon arrival, we were kindly received, given good advice about places to eat in the area. As an overnight stop it is a good option.
Single beds slept hollow, parking quite safe, but unsheltered.
Evening doused in lukewarm water. If you don't want to lie down you have to sit outside. It was cold outside. Refrigerator and microwave stand in wardrobe. The advertising photos only show wall hangings and decorations. It's of less importance. One wants to relax after a long trip. Space is limited. R700 too much.
Our hostess was very accommodating because we brought a large dog and moved us to a larger unit. We really appreciated it, everything was well furnished and homely. Would definitely recommend as the service was more personal than what we usually experience when just staying over one night.

Nice clean, comfortable place to stay. Tasteful decor, a lovely bed and hospitality ─ specifically from the owner and the receptionist who received me. The breakfast is tasty, but skimpy for a 235 pound man from the Free State. It would be good if shade nets could be erected for the car. Your car bakes like an oven in that Karoo sun. Perhaps some literature on Beaufort West in the room would also be good. Also nice!
On arrival it was very hot (37 degrees) and the pond/pool was great to cool off in. The Karoo lamb roast was perfect to end a beautiful day.

We were travelling from Cape Town to the Northern Cape and had to stay over for one night. Ons Huisie was exactly what we needed. It was neat, clean, safe and homey. We felt very welcome and will definitely recommend this accommodation to our friends.

The bathroom is a bit narrow for large persons, but otherwise it was pleasant to stay there and the hostess was very friendly and helpful.

Power cables lying everywhere, extension cables everywhere..No mirror. Power plug above door height, I'm short couldn't reach. The shower's exit is right above the toilet. Everything full of water. Wallpaper on the toilet floor is lifting. No toilet door just a curtain. Toilet window opens to the laundry and everyone can hear everything. Finishing poor. Kitchen sink in bedroom. Air conditioning does not work but is advertised. No water in shower - on and off or nothing. The shower is so small it's just bigger than a wooden bath mat. The sink area so small you have to hold arms at your sides to brush teeth, (and I'm petite built). Parking pathetic; 3 cars must stand in a row - pull in and pull out. Help not advertise nice bed and that's where it ends.
Freezing rooms, no air-con, heater against the wall didn't even warm the area. Shower head against the wall and bathroom basin old. It was just unpleasant and we really can't recommend it. Feels as if you're staying in someone else's house. Definitely not a guest house set-up. Sorry, but they won't see me again. So I won't be recommending them.

If you travel 800 km and need to get a good night's rest, the basics should be in place. The service was very friendly and the welcome drink was much appreciated. It would have been perfect if there was aircon and a decent hot shower in the morning. The old carpets contributed to a even worse hot stuffy night. Have lots of potential with a few small upgrades.

We were warmly received by Annalene and immediately offered coffee which was a great blessing after we had a very challenging ride on the motorbikes.
