Enjoyed my stay, everything one needs.
Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Efficient service from agent and owner went the extra mile to sort out the DSTV so that we could watch the rugby.
Ons Strandhuisie is beautifully decorated and clean. It has a lovely braai area. The rooms and bedding are clean and of good quality. There are a few things the host can do to improve guest stay though, like provide towels, a hairdryer and some hand wash in the bathroom. The kitchen is very small but has everything you need. A small table near the kitchen could help with some food prep space. I would also suggest a lockbox to get the key as we had to wait 2 hours for someone to open up for us. It is perfectly located to walk to the beach and also close to the shop and play area for the kids.
The parking was a problem.
Bedding was of poor quality. Inner and cushion feel tired and of poor quality. Towels will be appreciated for the fee they charge for cleaning. Basic self-catering items such as coffee, tea, sugar and milk would be a nice touch. The place offers nothing special. Super basic. Will not go back or recommend for sure. Would rather look for a new place if I stay in area again.
We are a family of four, and our sons are 5 and 7 years old. We stayed in Ons Strandhuisie for 5 nights in December. Pearly Beach resort is a paradise for children. It's safe, they can ride bikes everywhere, and there are lots of friends to play with. Our Strandhuisie is located in a very nice place, the stoepie opens onto the park's grass, directly opposite the shop. So you can sit on the porch and watch your children play (if there are no vehicles parked in the road). The braai room is nice, especially when the wind blows (the wind blew daily!). One walks a 100 m or so to get to the passage to the beach. The cottage is located behind a dune, which blocks the wind. Our Beach House is not very big, but has what one needs. The cottage has good beds with nice bedding, and we slept well. The kitchenette is very small and there is little surface area to prepare food. The freezer section of the fridge is very small, especially if you come for a few days and you bring all your meat with you! The store has something of everything.
