29 guests' feedbackWe had a wonderful stay. It was our second time here and we were not disappointed. It's the perfect place to relax, especially for a winter break.
One of my absolute most favourite weekends away, not far from Cape Town and accommodated us perfectly. We had such a relaxing weekend away. Very cold but the heaters and fireplace inside kept us warm. The hot tub was out of this world. Highly recommend. Pets are welcome to join too.
A breathtaking experience.
We had a lovely stay at Ontevreden Farm. Very peaceful with a beautiful view, which is even more beautiful than the photos. The house is well appointed with all the amenities you need, with a small amount of household essentials. It still looks very new and modern. I wish we could have stayed longer! The hot tub was lovely in the cold to stare at the stars. Our city dog could be a farm dog on the farm and we had a nice walk through the vineyards. The communication with was very good.
It was wonderful. Peaceful, clean, and the hosts were extremely helpful.
The house was absolutely spotless. The rooms are well laid out and very nicely furnished.
Fantastic accommodation in a very beautiful environment! Hostess is very friendly. House is very spacious, clean and well equipped. There is up to an ice machine, dishwasher and a Nespresso machine (a few capsules are provided). Beds are comfortable, lots of storage space. Animal friendly! The porch can easily be closed with a few baby gates or playpen partitions for the woolly feet. Porch has great seating and a place to hang out! What could be nicer than sitting on such a porch and drinking coffee while looking over the mountains! Hot tub under roof with the breathtaking view is a plus. DSTV and WiFi are available. Trust me you can't go wrong with Ontevreden Farm! I am in love with the place! Wish our stay was longer! Feel free to book.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The accommodation was clean, very spacious and beautifully finished, and perfectly located, surrounded by amazing scenery. So many activities in the area, making our visit both comfortable and memories we will certainly cherish. Highly recommended.
We enjoyed our weekend away at Ontevreden. The cottage is beautiful, spacious and has just about everything you need. Remember to take your own salt, pepper, oil, foil. There is an ice machine so didn't need to buy additional ice. Extra wood is available to purchase, which you will most definitely need if you're going to braai and use the hot tub. The complimentary supply of wood is not enough for a weekend. Cell phone reception is very poor, but luckily the WiFi works well. The sunsets were spectacular, we went on walks on the farms and it was just beautiful. We also enjoyed the pool, which is right by the cottage to cool off. On a clear night you'll also be able to see the stars, it's absolutely stunning. The hosts were friendly and very helpful as well. Highly recommend!
Our stay was picture perfect! The farm house is well laid out. Everything you need away from home is catered for. It is a working farm and is quiet at night and weekends. Highly recommended for family and friends for a stay that ticks all the boxes. The host is exceptional!
What a fantastic place. Absolutely worth the money. The silence, beautiful view as well as the very well furnished house and hot tub were very good for the soul. Spent hours on the porch taking in nature. Wendy was also a wonderful hostess. We will go again for sure.
Firstly, a huge thanks to our hosts for being so friendly and awesome. The house was neat and fully equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our morning coffee out on the deck, surrounded by mountains and the vast plantation.
We really enjoyed our stay. It was so relaxing. Amazing view. Private. Sounds of birds chirping. Comfortable bed. Clean. The house had everything we needed. We will definitely be back!
From the view to the 'hottub', beautifully maintained gardens and lots of space in the house. We will definitely come again and invite more people along. It was such a piece of oasis for us and a quiet, peaceful break from the city's hustle and bustle.

Very new, neat and clean with a breathtaking view over the valley. The hostess is also very accommodating and down to earth. The destination is an absolute stop for good rest and energy renewal before one has to tackle one's day to day tasks again.

Luxurious facilities in a scenic, tranquil setting; the open-plan living area and wrap-around stoep provided ample areas for socialising and enjoying the spectacular scenery. What made our visit all the more special was the indoor fireplace and the generator during loadshedding! Highly recommended.

Wendy is an excellent host. The farm has the most breathtaking views. It's everything and more.
The house is very well equipped and very tidy. There is a lovely veranda on which one can relax for hours and read a book. The "hot tub" was definitely a highlight of the weekend and our whole family was able to relax in it. We will definitely visit the place again.
We had a great time at Ontevreden Plaas and can highly recommend it! The house is big and lovely with everything one needs. We had so much fun on the stoep with the most beautiful view! The hostess was very friendly and helpful!
We absolutely loved Ontevreden Farm. The farm manager and his wife really make you feel welcome. This is a must-visit for anyone that loves the winelands and the peace and quiet that only the country can offer to switch off from everyday hassles.
If you want to relax and shut the world out for a couple of days, then Ontevreden is perfect. So peaceful.
Absolutely beautiful place with wonderful hosts.
Beautiful surroundings and the accommodation is clean, very tidy and cosy. The weather was a bit cold in the early morning and evening, but the hot tub outside made everything better. Would just like to see that the chimney of the bath gets out of protection because children can touch it very easily when it's hot. Will go back again anytime. Wendy is an excellent hostess and could immediately help with anything as well as her husband Tiaan.
The accommodation is everything you need to get away. It is well equipped and the view is incredibly beautiful. The popular tractor ride on Proteafarm is about 10km away on the same road and definitely worth the effort. In addition, there are restaurants in the town and surrounding area to choose from.
Very beautiful surroundings and the host was also very accommodating and friendly. We forgot a couple of household items, such as oil, foil, and cleaning items. It would have been nice if those were in the house.
The house was well thought out but a fan or aircon is missing for those very hot days. It is the perfect accommodation for group bookings.
