We were a large group of friends and the place didn't feel cramped. The sea view was of course the best and it's a nice walking distance from everything.
The one concern I had was the locals constantly at your door trying to sell fish etc, rather annoying, but that is not the establishment's fault.
Microwave was tripping electricity - made it difficult to warm kids bottles and food. Some smaller other items broken in house - chairs, blinds etc. Wonderful view though! Lovely sized rooms.
We definitely had a nice stay at home. The location of the house, quite elevated above the beach, has a beautiful view of the beach and sea. One couldn't ask for better. The restaurants in the area are surprisingly good and a short walk from the house. Our French and American guests were very impressed by all the facilities.
Oom Dana's House is beautiful, clean, tidy and everything is there to make you as comfortable as possible and let you relax wonderfully. View fantastic. Have a nice time.
The house is more equipped than my own home. It has everything you may need. Comfortable beds and linen. Breath taking views with plenty space for a larger family.
Oom Dana se Huis is absolutely perfect beautifully situated clean and all of us had a jol. Great, friendly and helpful staff. We are already planning our next stay at Oom Dana, thanks to a great team.
Beautiful house ideal for visiting and sitting on the porch and looking at the beach and sea. Separate rooms, nice bathrooms, large living area, large indoor braai and beautiful porch.
Loved our break-away weekend with family. The sleeping arrangements were comfortable and clean. Lovely open plan with big fireplace/braai and DStv to allow us to watch the Olympics. Easy walk down to the beach with beautiful views from the balcony and main bedroom window. Will certainly be back. The only downside is that there is no fencing around the property and thus easy access for locals to walk through and approach us to sell their goods, which was a nuisance and at times caught us by surprise with teenagers feeling unsafe.
Typical fisherman's cottage, on the sea, very neat place to sleep and bathrooms. Nice for self-catering. Close to nice places to eat. Can recommend Paternoster and Oom Dana's cottage.
Big enough house for a nice family visit! Indoor barbecue and the view make the place and good value for money. Will visit Uncle Dana's House again.
House was not clean on arrival and when we asked for cleaning services we were quoted a ridicules rate. The one couch in the lounge was broken and the scatter pillows had not been washed in years! The house was really icky. We had to phone to ask for clean towels. Location of the house is on the beach but on the wrong side of the beach where the local people party, drink and mess. There were also lots of vehicles on the beach, and I am not talking about people putting boats in the water. There were people just driving around on the beach with no policeman in sight.
Thank you for the most wonderful memories on my 60th birthday. The children and grandchildren came from far and wide. All the facilities, the doors and privacy between sleeping and visiting areas with grandchildren and a baby who had to sleep while we had a great time around the big, old table! We could cook delicious food, braai, fire in the fireplace, watch rugby together like in the boys' childhood and spend hours on the veranda overlooking the sea. Lovely generous home.
For a group the house was spacious and well equipped. Fantastic views. Would visit again.

The house is fantastic, except for a loose tap and one bedroom door with a broken latch, can't stay closed, and very well equipped. The furniture is very comfortable and good linen and mattresses throughout. Fantastic view and location to the beach. All that bothers is the fact that you can't leave anything open - doors/windows have to remain closed all the time when someone is not present, because there is a good chance that opportunists and passers-by will rid you of your property, but that's ' a social problem that is a little aggravated by the location, not the house itself.
Paternoster is my happy place, go there often. Uncle Dana's house is still the most beautiful of all the places we have stayed in Paternoster, and will only book him in the future.
The old fisherman's houses are nicely renovated in comfortable houses in which a group can stay. Every bedroom has a view of the sea. And everyone can socialize at the fireplace and on the patio. Can definitely recommend it.
Our family group spent 4 days visiting Uncle Dana's house. This is an excellent house for gathering. The sit-dining kitchen area is spacious. It can be extended by opening the glass doors leading out onto the veranda. It probably has one of the best unobstructed views in Paternoster. Kitchenware and crockery provide for all the basic uses. The duvets are deliciously warm. There is a gas heater for the cooler evenings. The house offers enough space so that a large group of guests are not in each other's way all the time. We were pleasantly surprised by the dishwasher and washing machine. This came in handy with the 8 residents. We could have a lovely hot shower and bath. As a woman, I have only one suggestion: a mirror in the first bedroom. (I had to walk to the bathroom to comb my hair or make up my face.) The large glass window along the front door is somewhat impeding on one's privacy. I would suggest installing a blind.
