We were in town for a wedding so were very short at the guest house. You immediately feel at home, the aunt and uncle make you feel very comfortable and have a nice chat. The rooms are very neat and clean and we slept very well. The garden is also beautiful and we would have liked to spend more time there. There is secure parking inside. Will definitely stay again if I'm in town.

Upon our arrival the owner was not at home, we had to call to hear what was going on. No hot water, had to talk to the owner again, to which he replied that the geyser was switched off and he would switch it on. I feel the owner must be sure everything is ready before his guests arrive.
We booked and paid for in full for a family room which had two bedrooms with air-conditioning. I was traveling to a sports event with a 12 year old boy. We arrived at the 7 pm time we indicated on the booking and also indicated this time when we got a call from the guest house. We arrived to find we had to call the guest house to get people to come open up, first thing they tell us there is someone in the family room but they have a family room somewhere on a golf estate but it has no air-conditioning! So they lied about the room. In the middle of summer we were going to sleep in a room with no ai-conditioning in a very hot place and we got to drive somewhere else. We then got shown a very very small 2 bedroom unit with the offer of a second one for the boy, so thus we would be split up into 2 separate bedrooms, you must be joining in the violent South Africa of today we live in and the with fact that we need to get up at 4h30 am there was no way I was going to sleep in two completely different rooms apart away from the boy I am responsible for. I just took what was on offer. We were hungry and tired plus had an early start the next day, thus no use trying to find something else at the last minute. We had after all paid in advance. When we came back from supper I noticed we had no access to the guest house, just the outside and our room. Air-con in this room also worked very badly. Parking was tight and, believe it or not, you have 40 seconds to get your car out before the gate crashes your car! This was just plain rubbish, we paid for a room we never got, the attitude was an arrogant style with zero customer focus, and they got our money which for the room we got was way overpriced in a place like this. Never stay here again.
The guest house is centrally located with well equipped rooms. The owners' hospitality impressed. I will undoubtedly stay there again.

Had a lovely stay even though they were unaware of our arrival. Everything neat, but bedding can be upgraded and the tap in the sink turns right around.

Accommodation was very pleasant. Just not enough toilet paper. We were 3 women with just 1 roll and a little. Coffee also just 1 bag each. There was an unpleasant smell in the unit we stayed in. The key arrangements were quiet unclear. Upon arrival there was no-one and we had to wait. There was also no-one to hand the keys to when we left. But the lady was friendly. Would stay there again, just not in the same unit because of the smell.

I recommend it. The people are very friendly. Rooms are vintage with polished wooden floors. The big backyard is full of trees and tables with chairs, and it's great for when you have to do some paperwork or drink a cocktail after a hard day at work. Awesome place.

Pictures don't do it any justice, really beautiful and tastefully finished, highly recommended. The hosts greeted us on arrival like old friends, nothing was too much trouble. We were truly spoilt, the rooms are beautiful and spotless with all amenities, including home made biscuits and hot coffee on arrival. We would highly recommend a stay here, the pictures online are not nearly as beautiful as the destination.

We only stayed one night as we were taking family to a wedding. We were very kindly received by William and Dalene. We were immediately offered a cup of coffee. Because we were the first guests of the evening, we could choose which room we wanted. Later in the afternoon we were surprised with a cup of tea and cookies on the veranda. These are two pleasant people who go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible. I would definitely recommend Op De Hoek guesthouse.
What a wonderful gem in Nylstroom! The garden is beautiful and provides hours of enjoyment and peace. The host and wife welcomed us with open arms and made us feel right at home with their warmth and hospitality. Will definitely visit aunt Dalene and uncle William again.

I have stayed overnight at Op De Hoek on two occasions. Both times the rooms were neat and clean. Good quality linen and towels. No shortage of anything I needed.

The owners were very hospitable. The room was beautifully clean and the garden breathtaking. Sorry breakfast is not included, would have liked to sit in the garden and enjoy. There is a fridge in the room, but it would have been convenient if water and soft drinks were available. We had to drive to town to get late at night.
No water was available, not even drinking water, toilet use, but we had to pay the full amount for accommodation.
