Thank you, everything was very clean and tidy. Just a few recommendations: from a pensioner/business point of view. 1. There were no dishcloths in the kitchen to wash or dry dishes with - also no drying cloth. 2. There should be a mirror installed somewhere near a wall plug so that one can blow dry one's hair. 3. The curtains at the sliding door will have to be made shorter, one can easily step on them and fall. 4. We arrived late - it was dark and there was hopelessly too little light for us to see where we were walking. When we walked out our door it was pitch dark. There was no light we could turn on to see.
We stayed at Opiepad Gastehuis for one night as a pit stop on a long road. We were pleasantly surprised with the value for money. Would definitely recommend the stay. It is perfect for just bathing and sleeping. We went to eat dinner in the town, there are many nice restaurants. Opiepad offers secure parking with enough space for trailer / caravan under roof and behind an electric gate. There are also CCTV cameras for the parking area which gave us a lot of peace of mind. We felt very safe.

My drive from CT to Colesberg was without incident and I arrived at Opiepad fairly early and found it easily. I had sufficient food with me, so didn't go out until my departure. My room had pretty decor and all went well. I was informed how to exit the property on my arrival and that also went smoothly.
We slept very comfortably and comfortably, the place is beautiful and clean and tidy. I would definitely recommend it again!
We had a great stay, thank you very much. The hostess and host were very friendly and we felt right at home. The room was really beautiful - especially the decor and color scheme - so turquoise and very pretty. We were tired from traveling and had a wonderful time relaxing in this beautiful place with picnic benches outside the room and a good DSTV package to entertain you while you relax. It is also conveniently close to the main road and also close to good restaurants in Colesberg.

The guest house is pretty neat. The reception was friendly. Everyone is very helpful. Only complaint is that the beds' mattresses are old and sagging and need to be replaced - it doesn't make for a comfortable night's sleep.

Although we arrived very late, the owner welcomed us with open arms. There are just a few things out of place. Booked a room with 2 beds but we got 1 bed. The pillows are of no value. No man can sleep on those lumps. There was only 1 tea bag available and no towel. The shower and blue floor mat were still full of the previous people's hair and mess. FOR THE SAME PRICE WE GET BETTER VALUE AT KROONSTAD THE NEXT NIGHT.

Unit lacks kitchenware for self-catering, eg barbecue equipment, pots,. etc. Neighbors' dogs are bothersome and bark a lot. TV very limited channels. Unit allows for power surges. No WI-FI. Was comfortable, need more milk please. Had to climb ridges in beds. (Beds have been slept on, after a long journey we want to sleep comfortably).
The room was very hot, air conditioning could not work due to does not load, wind cannot pass through. Next to the room is a motor/pressure pump that turns on all the time and then turns off again, it's very disturbing and I couldn't sleep because it makes a lot of noise. Water in shower was cold, don't know if owners turned on geyser. Sink water hardly comes out at all. They will have to pay attention to it.
No hot water for shower on the night of arrival or morning of departure. Such cold showers were our foreland. No extra blanket on bed. I then looked in a linen closet for another blanket. We have stayed there before which is why I booked again.
TV did not work, washing-up facilities are outside, otherwise sufficient for our needs.

The beds were comfortable, and the room clean and tidy. However, the room was very small for 4 people to share, even for one night. The customer service was lacking quite a bit and seemed to be run by young people that weren't very professional. Also, the photos of everything outside of the actual room were misleading as the little outside sitting area looked onto a carport with stuff stored in the rafters. The swimming pool area also didn't seem to be set up properly for guests.

Cecil, very friendly owner warmly welcomed us and offered to store our frozen fish in his giant refrigerators, as well as free bags of ice. Opiepad guest house is perfect if you need a place to sleep - and nothing more. Nicely furnished, secure parking. The room we were in sleeps 3 - and only just! Very small, but furnished with a coffee corner, DSTV, air conditioning and a large bathroom. Friendly reception. It's perfect for a tired traveler who just wants to lay down. It's a shame though that there also appears to be mechanical work of some sort running from the premises - when we arrived there was an open workshop, workers cleaning up and a vehicle being worked on. This detracts from the exquisite decoration and cleanliness of the accommodation unit. But I don't think you will get better value for money.

COVID regulations are not obeyed and there are no means to call for assistance. The door handle in the bathroom was broken as well as the lamps in the room do not switch off at night. There is also a lot of noise that travels through to the rooms from other guests' rooms.
