The sounds of birds, the whistling of the wind and distant farm animals replaced all city sounds. The forest cabin is ideal for calming down the hustle and bustle. However, my six-year-old didn't want to know anything about the outdoor toilet or shower. So, then she bathed in a dish in the house.

For the person/persons who want to stay there and be satisfied with the basic things (gas stove, electric kettle, pots, pans, plates etc. fridge, gas geyser and box to pack clothes) and don't expect everything to be shiny it perfect It's a simple farm hut with a beautiful view over the farm and the sea as well as the town. It's very close to the town (Spar Center) which is about 1 km and the harbor is about 3 km away. Perks are there is DStv and free WiFi for guests.

The milk room is laid out a bit impractically for my taste in the sense that the stove/oven is between the sink and cupboard so to be able to open the cupboard you have to move the stove/oven, and then to wash the dishes you have to move it to the other side then move. Otherwise we had a nice stay there.

My poky and dark room (Eierkamer) was reasonably well equipped and okay for an overnight stay, but with no views to speak of (the windows are frosted glass) and noisy farmyard traffic and mechanical repairs going on in a nearby workshop, any thoughts of a peaceful farmstay were shattered. Also, many of the areas I wanted to walk in were off limits due to 'dangerous ostriches'. I left a day early.

I was very skeptical at first but read the reviews and decided to give it a try, I don't know when was the last time we had such a nice stay! We felt very welcome, the children really enjoyed the guided horse rides and the carriage ride. My oldest built a bit with Evert on the farm with clay. It was definitely a very nice experience and we will definitely visit again. It's just a shame it's so far.

Firstly, the gas hot water system is not working. The toilet is right next to the kitchen, the kitchen is a corridor from the sleeping unit to the toilet. I assume it was a store or something else adapted for housing. The fridge makes noise and is very disturbing at night. I'm sorry to point out all the points, but please understand. that the customer is expected to pay in advance and then a customer expects at least what is advertised to be there and also in working order.

We were unfortunately without electricity for our entire stay due to storm damage. Otherwise we had a great time. I suggest they make sure there are candles and gas lamps and gas stoves. There was also no water because the pressure pump did not work. Couldn't shower either - no water.
