OppiePlaas Country Cottage & Hadada Studio is situated on a working cattle and sheep farm along the popular East Cape Wild Coast, just 2 km from the popular Haga Haga holiday town and 65 km from East London.

Accommodation is provided in 2 self-catering units and 2 bed and breakfast rooms.

OppiePlaas Country Cottage is a self-catering, free-standing, garden cottage, with views over the farm dam, and comprises 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, a lounge and dining area and a kitchen. The main bedroom is furnished with a double bed and a desk, and the second, smaller bedroom has a bunk bed for children under 12. The bathroom is fitted with a toilet, basin and shower. This unit has a well-equipped kitchen and private braai facilities.

Hadeda Self-Catering Studio is a modern 3-sleeper open-plan apartment that comprises a bedroom, a bathroom, a lounge area, a kitchen, and a dining area, as well as a private patio with views of the game farm and the sea. The bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed while the living area has a sleeper couch for a third person. This unit has a well-equipped kitchen and enjoys access to a private patio that comes with braai facilities. This unit is wheelchair-friendly.

The bed and breakfast rooms are furnished with a queen-size bed and each offers an en-suite bathroom. The bed and breakfast rooms are located in the farmhouse and feature private entrances, verandahs and panoramic views of the game farm and the sea.

Guests have access to a small swimming pool, a farm restaurant and a licensed bar on the premises. Free Wi-Fi is available at the restaurant, as well as in Hadeda Studio and OppiePlaas Country Cottage. The restaurant and patio area have backup power in the form of a generator, supplying power to the lights, flat-screen TV and sound system. The restaurant offers a limited menu during load shedding. The units have emergency lights and small gas- and solar lights are provided. DSTv is available in the cottage and restaurant. Netflix is available in Hadada Studio and in the B&B rooms.

The farm has a walking- and mountain biking trail with sea and landscape views. Bass fishing is available in the dam located close to the farm. The farm is 2 km from the popular Haga Haga beach resort with swimming beaches, a lagoon and rock and beach fishing spots. East London is 65 km from the farm and other popular beach resorts like Chintsa West, Kei Mouth and Gxarha (Morgan’s Bay) is only 45 km away.

This was our home away from home. From the friendly and professional hosts to the accommodation itself to the food and everything else, OppiePlaas Country Estate puts a personal touch in everything they do. Our toddler did not want to leave. We will definitely be back.

The hosts were very friendly. We were entertained on Friday with very nice and calming music. The DJ was very accommodating with the choice of music. Breakfast was delicious.

Oppie Plaas Haga-Haga is a gem on the Wild Coast. Lovely home and braai. Overlooking a dam with lovely nature and birdlife. Home is well equipped and spacious for two people. Roads need upgrade. Enjoyable stay!

We had a wonderful 10 days at OppiePlaas. Hadeda Cottage is well equipped and we lacked nothing. How nice it is to watch giraffes, zebras and the sea in the morning with coffee. Erna's delicious food and pizzas made us gain at least 3 kg. No trouble is too much for her and Neil. Genuine, warm people who became family and didn't just remain hosts.

Very peaceful place and can just relax and forget about everything. Accommodation very neat and food is also very tasty in the restaurant. Can enjoy walking around the farm. Sea is around the corner with a nice beach.

The accommodation was beautiful, clean and had everything you could need, as well as being placed in such a peaceful setting. I was not aware that booking for the tent (my mistake) will make sure next time what I book for. For old people (70 years) the tent was somewhat primitive. Still had a nice stay. Very nice environment.

"Wonderful tranquility."

Niel and Erna are friendly and caring. They made us feel very much at home - like family... even though we stayed on one side of the cottage. One gets the feeling of farm and sea. My children really enjoyed the geese, chickens, yard dogs and the hanslam. Erna also baked a very special birthday cake for my daughter! The food that the restaurant serves is also of the above quality. We would love to go back there again for a holiday.

Overall 4 out of 5. However, there is no Wi-Fi or a DVD player in the unit as advertised. The WiFi is only available at the restaurant which does not represent accurate advertising.

"Deliciously relaxing like on a real farm."

It was one of the most enjoyable weeks we were on vacation! From the moment we got there until the last day, it felt like we were visiting family on the farm. We explored the area and were pleasantly surprised with the scenery. Had a wonderful walk along the sea and picked up the most beautiful shells. I really enjoyed fishing in the farm pond and caught quite a few fish!

We spent the weekend at OppiePlaas Haga and it was absolutely amazing. The cottage we stayed in had everything we need and the bed is really comfortable to sleep in and has really soft bedding and pillows. The view from cottage is beautiful and we loved how you could listen to the all the animals at night. The owners are so friendly and accommodating and they make an amazing breakfast as well as delicious pizza. I would highly recommend OppiPlaas!

We were pleasantly surprised and welcomed by the the owners Neil and Erna. They made us feel at home. We really enjoyed the stay and the food was of the best quality and delicious. The cottage was well equipped and short of nothing. The staff were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely go again (my wife ordered malva pudding 3 times).
