This is one of those places that one will want to visit again and again. Everything was clean, tidy and in its place. The pool (which we didn't use due to the time of year) was sparkling clean and a delight for the visiting animals to drink from.
Optibos is one of the nicest places to stay in Marloth! Nicely furnished and has everything needed to enjoy a break in the lowveld!
Lovely comfortable house, fully equipped. Quiet area and so peaceful and beautiful with the trees around the house where many birds and animals come to visit. Nice braai area with the most delicious swimming pool for warmer days.

We had a very nice stay. There is something small here and there and the cupboard in the upper room could be refurbished. Other than that it was a fantastic experience. We will come again.

Very neat and cozy holiday home - private and peaceful. The rooms with en suite bathrooms, air conditioning in the rooms and swimming pool are a bonus in the heat. This was an ideal getaway with minimal cell phone signal - the WiFi was only used to relax. The tarmac to Marloth Park is in good condition. We will visit again.
I would just recommend screens installed in front of all windows to enable one to open a window for fresh air while at the unit without bugs coming inside. I do understand that windows need to be shut when leaving, but while at the unit, I would have enjoyed opening some windows for fresh air. We also missed having loungers at the pool; recommend investing in pool furniture. Thank you, we had a lovely time.
Close to the river so we saw lots of animals. Good air conditioning and a lovely pool were perfect for the hot weather. Word of advice to guests: Don't forget bug spray. We forgot we were in the bush.
Optibos meets all standards. Good value for money. The owner has really put a lot of effort into new improvements in the place. Everything you need is at your disposal and all equipment in the unit is of high quality. I will definitely visit the place again. The tranquility and animals make it absolutely worth it.
Close enough to two of the southern entrance gates to the Kruger National Park for comfortable day visits. Optibos has its own wildlife that comes to drink at the waterhole and you don't even have to leave the verandah for that bush experience. The house has been nicely renovated and one of the big advantages is the spacious bedrooms with their own bathrooms, wardrobe, TV and desk. The upstairs room is very nicely furnished and modern and also has its own deck. It's ideal for families or friends who want to visit together but still maintain their privacy. The bedding and mattresses are first class. The kitchen and braai area has everything you need with enough seating and table space for dishing up and sitting down for dinner. Parking space, WiFi, swimming pool, spacious veranda, drinking water tap with filter system, security and solar panels contribute to a particularly comfortable stay experience. Good communication guided us throughout the process. This is a gem that I am happy to recommend. Things I could see are in the process of being renovated: upstairs bedroom and deck, some of the outdoor furniture. Things visitors should note: Bring your own towels and decoder. All in all a great stay experience at a fair rate.

We had a great time and rested in the forest. The cottage has everything you need and more. The animals coming to drink water was truly an experience. Thank you for a wonderful holiday. We'll do it again soon!

Optibos is well equipped for when there is load shedding. We really enjoyed drinking coffee in the morning with zebras and warthogs who come to drink water right in front of the stoep. The security is very good.
Real woodland atmosphere. Calm and quiet, just what one needs to break away from the hustle and bustle of the city. With all the facilities to make the stay special.
There were a few challenges, for example, a complicated gas stove, no hot water for the shower, constant electricity problems, and the owner or caretaker doesn't have good customer service and wasn't eager to help us with the challenges we faced.
Our visit at Optibos was very pleasant with the off-the-grid, just a few points to keep in mind. Place looks much bigger in photos than reality. Place is not suitable for 6 adults, the area and furniture do not allow it. The loft above does not have direct access to a bathroom, must use room 1 or 2's en-suite bathroom. The stairs to the loft should be handled with care. The fancy headboards are not mounted in the wall and fall on you and everything on the bedside tables falls off with every turn. The outdoor chairs are broken and torn and in need of general maintenance. Larger pots and pans are also needed.
We had a wonderful rest and the house is well equipped, the power cuts are troublesome even though the house has solar panels.
Amazing house in the bush. You can not see any houses or hear cars. Lovely and relaxing. Huge bonus is that the house is off the grid. Can really recommend Optibos.
Good place for a holiday.
What a pleasant, cozy place! Good value for money, and we had warthogs, zebras, mouse dogs, impalas, kudus and giraffe visiting us. No baboons to bother us either. The place is close to shops and restaurants which makes it ideal. Would definitely highly recommend even with kids. We will definitely go back there again.
For me, the location of Optibos was perfect. It's very private and it really makes you feel like you're alone in the woods. A big plus is that the unit is completely off the grid. Didn't know about loadshedding! Furthermore, it is equipped with everything you could need! Definitely my number one choice in Marloth!

We had an absolutely wonderful time, the animals were one kind on another, all day at the house, kudus, warthogs, giraffes, bushbucks, night monkeys, divers, springboks, all were there to eat and greet. The house has everything you need, lack of nothing, home away from home, the owner was always available on the phone and quickly made contact, we were very comfortable, and will definitely go again!
We did struggle with the power being out from Saturday afternoon. The inverter and batteries would not charge.

Located close to several lookouts and restaurants. Swimming pool and veranda are wonderfully cool and tidy. The place needs a little maintenance but is a cosy, well-equipped place to stay and has a lovely braai area.

We really enjoyed the visit and will definitely go back again. We had a bit of a struggle with the gas stove but got it right. There is a shortage of scooping bowls and no meat grilling bowls. All in all had a lovely visit.
Place was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. To barbecue outside in nature and hear the sounds of nature was very special. Was able to drink coffee early in the morning on the stoep while we listened to the sounds of nature and visits from the warthogs. Can definitely recommend accommodation.
Lovely location. Just a pity that the cleaner wanted to clean the house at 7:15 am already.
Hot water in shower is difficult to fix. Either too hot or too cold.
Swimming was out of order, upstairs patio was padlocked with no key. Was no water from first morning to the end of our stay, had to use water boiled from pool to flush toilets and wash. Outside bench full of spiderwebs. Plug in bedroom rusted, would not close so would not hold water. Gas oven does not work. And to top it all the cleaner was there at 6:50 am on our last day. We were still drinking coffee and in our pjs, our exit time was supposed to be 9 am. Very disappointed and think more supervision is necessary!
