Guests have a choice of unique self-catering cottages that can accommodate between 2 to 5 people, all enjoying a unique view of the Orange River. The cottages are furnished with single beds or double beds and have en-suite bathrooms fitted with showers and toilets. A baby crib is also available with prior arrangements.
Fish Eagle Cottage has a private kitchen and braai area, while Hammerkop Nest and Chat's Rock shares the use of a communal kitchen and braai area. Each of the kitchens is equipped with a fridge, a microwave, a stove, an oven, as well as tea- and coffee-making facilities. As all of the plumbing is fed by filtered river water guests are required to bring their own drinking water.
The farm offers a variety of activities such as fishing on a catch-and-release basis, bird watching, as well as hiking and walking trails. There is a 25 km gravel road leading to the accommodation, vehicles with high ground clearance are required to get to the cottages.
Please take note that the drive from the N12 can take up to 45 minutes travel depending on road conditions and traveling speed. Therefore, it is unfortunately not recommended as a quick stop-over during a long journey. If however you have some time to spend and enjoy the scenic route, it is a lovely place to rest up.

6 guests' feedbackWe were looking for a place where we could relax and spend quality time together, after a busy Cape Town holiday and road trip. This accommodation gave us exactly what we were looking for. Peace and quiet. It is beautiful, safe and clean, and in the middle of nowhere. You get a lot more than expected. The host was exceptional and very friendly and accommodating when we needed anything. Can highly recommend especially if planning to spend at least two nights there.
We really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it if you want to get away from the 'hustle and bustle' and just enjoy some peace of mind. It's a beautiful place.
We had a wonderful evening in the double cottage on the farm, with our two little girls. The farm and animals were so well looked after and we were treated like family. We were not asked for any extra fees for our children who came along unexpectedly and felt so at home. Although it is a bit out of town, the views and seclusion of the farm was an exclusive and picturesque experience.
It would be appreciated if the freezer had ice cubes as well as cold water in the fridge. The river water should also provide a few bottles of drinking water. Couldn't get the oven to work.
The rooms were comfortable although rather small. The hostess was not around on arrival or throughout the stay. There were bats which were making noises around the 1 room for several hours during the evening. Definately need an offroad car to get to the place.
Lovely cottage on the Orange river, stunning little cottage and beautiful views. Hubby caught lots of fish.

Description
Located on the first floor, the cottage offers a beautiful view of the Orange river from the double bed. A baby crib is also available with prior arrangements, and the en-suite bathroom is fitted with a shower. The toilet is linked to an organic septic tank system for waste disposal. Hammerkop Nest shares the use of a communal kitchen, located underneath Hammerkop Nest, as well as a braai and picnic area with Chat’s Rock. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, a microwave, a stove, an oven, as well as tea- and coffee-making facilities. Drinking water will be supplied, as all of the plumbing is fed by filtered river water, and guests are welcome to bring their own drinking water should they prefer. Please note that this unit is very natural as it is made of wood and reeds. For this reason the local bats do love to roost in the walls on the exterior. They do no harm and play a very important role in the ecology and they pay for their lodgings by eating lots of pesky bugs. If you are afraid of, or dislike bats then this unit is not suited for you.
