It was our second time at Otters Den and it was just as enjoyable as the first time. It is perfectly located close to Nottingham Road and we woke up every morning to the most beautiful view. Many thanks to the owners who made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely go again!
From arrival you feel welcomed into the Otters Den Self Catering accommodation. The cottages are tastefully decorated. The kitchen has been upgraded to gas since our last stay, which is great for load shedding. The owners are friendly and welcoming and are willing to assist with anything you require. We will definitely be back for sure.
Very nice stay at Otters Den Self-catering Cottages, followed the Midlands Meander routes. The dirt road is in very good condition. Any sedan will be able to follow the road.
We had a wonderful stay in the beautifully appointed chalet. Views are gorgeous, and the picnic spot by the river was lovely.

The host outdid themselves with champagne waiting for my husband after me mentioning it as the reason for our visit. It was so good we have already booked another stay at Otters Den. This place is beautifully situated on the banks of the Lions River, overlooking the valley. Well equipped with everything you need. The place was taken over by Christine and her husband about a year ago and they are systematically improving it. The current project is to replace the electric stove plates with gas plates. In the event of power outages, there are generators available that are switched on when needed. There is a wood burner to ward off the cold, and wood is available. The beds are wonderfully comfortable and equipped with electric heating blankets. Christine is a very considerate hostess who puts her guests' comfort first. Otters Den Self-catering Cottages are highly recommended for a peaceful visit in beautiful surroundings.

Breathtaking view, rest and peace for the soul. Definitely a gem in the midlands that we are excited to recommend to our friends. The cats that are cared for with so much love by the owners are too cute.

Otters Den is a beautiful place with breathtaking views. Although it was cold and rainy, we still had a great time. It is only 15 minutes away from Nottingham Road and we were able to quickly drive through to visit the sights. The chalets were equipped with everything we needed including an electric blanket. Otters Den is a very nice base to explore the Midlands Meander area and just relax. A beautiful stream and waterfall runs through the premises and lulls you to sleep.

The location is perfect, the scenery is beautiful and all the villages in the Midlands Meander are easily accessible from here. It is private and very neat. Would appreciate a little more focus on detail. Changing soap and bubble bath daily would be nice. 2 Point plug for mobile phone charging and hair dryer would be appreciated. The fireplace is a good idea but getting it on is another story, a lot of smoke inside the room due to the chimney system, recommendation is to install a valve on the outside that can open and close .

It's a gem in the Natal Midlands. Ideally located for visits to places such as cheese shops, weavers, bagel shop, local markets and many more. Otherwise you can just relax at your cottage and listen to the babbling of the Lions river. There is a lovely fireplace which is cozy, especially on rainy days. The owners are very friendly and will go out of their way to help where needed. The spa treatments are heavenly and definitely recommended. We will definitely go here again. It was also a chance for us to rest our soul and body, after a very stressful year. Put a visit to this precious place on your holiday list.

As a preferred partner I expected a little more! We were give 1 teabag each for the weekend which is unusual as most self catering provide tea coffee milk etc daily. Enjoyed the views and walk. However was told if needed just to shout on both occasions the messages were answered late or unable to assist. DStv wasn’t working however only informed of this on my way down and told it wasn’t their fault. WiFi (as I had to send a few email as for work) was shocking available but didn’t actually work.
Everything was perfect, from customer service to cleanliness. Nature at its best. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

An incredibly intimate feeling overwhelms you as you walk through the unit's door and you just can't help but stare out the window. The porch is lovely and scenery wraps you around with both arms, so beautiful! The TV and DStv can be removed, because it is totally unnecessary. Of course we enjoyed the hot tub to the fullest! The quiet and privacy is all we needed and this is definitely one of our top 10 getaways.

Beautiful peaceful place in nature. Gardens are very neat and well maintained. Chalets are neat and modern with everything for self-catering. Lovely Jacuzzi in chalet. Bed is very comfortable, we have a very good night's sleep. We would definitely recommend Otters Den.
