Our one night stay at the Old School Guest House was really something special. The service was great and the dinner that was prepared and served for us in the (Hostel) was out of the books! There were soft, comfortable winter sheets on the bed (up to a top sheet that very few guesthouses put on the beds these days), which we were very happy about. The (Woodwork class) in which we spent the night was beautiful and well equipped, the shower showered wonderfully. We would definitely recommend the Old School Guest House and stay there again. We actually wanted to stay longer but were on our way back to the West Coast so unfortunately we had to check out.

We loved our stay. The property is well maintained and the school theme is well done. The rooms were so well equipped and the beds very comfortable. We were surprised and delighted to find a gas hot plate with a wash up basin as well as the usual crockery and cutlery. Another surprise was that we could order a meal. We had the breakfast which was very reasonable and delicious. There are camping facilities as well. The staff were exceptionally helpful. Would definitely go back there.

What a wonderful surprise to find the beautiful restoration of the old primary school at Neilersdrift. What a pleasure to see all the classroom names outside each of the rooms. This is a perfect introduction to the Green Kalahari, and to meet up with the Gariep (Groot) River yet once again.

The Old School Guest House is a very nice overnight destination. The Old School Guest House has been beautifully converted into sleeping units and has outdoor braai facilities. There is a dining hall where you can order meals in advance as well as a bar. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

I would like to thank Gabi warmly for the excellent service received. I couldn't check in until after 10pm and she waited patiently and welcomed me with open arms and a big genuine smile, I felt right at home. Thanks to Sylvi and Estelle, the room was painfully neat, clean and well equipped. We had a great rest and Gabi woke up Friday morning with a delicious breakfast. You feel privileged when you turn down to the Old School. Most beautiful part of Keimoes across the NG Church and over three full bridges of the Orange River. The rooms read grade one class, infirmary and dining hall so the spirit of the school is still clearly visible. Rooms tastefully furnished with huge beds white linen and a variety of pillows. Bathrooms en suite and my standard two classroom had a shower and a bath. Quiet environment among the grape arbor. Meals are served and there is a choice that is exercised before you check in by means of a menu sent to you. Barbecue place for the hardened barbecuers among us. The 2 hostesses make you feel like you are the only guests. Jam, honey and other home treats are for sale. I recommend it for travelers anytime.

After a long and dusty trip, it was lovely to be welcomed at the Ou Skool. Very friendly hosts who were able to accommodate last minute changes and requests. The rooms were big and very clean! Ons sal definitief weer kom!
It had been so nice, the silence had been good for me. The most delicious food, and the steak was the best in a very long time. The kindest aunt with the cutest dog. Definitely a must for people who need the rest from a hectic life.

A little far out of town. Rooms are very neat. Food was a bit disappointing for us. When you hear venison pie/chops and sides, you don't expect chips. The setup regarding meals and drinks could probably be better explained as well. We had to ask before we heard we had to help ourselves to drinks. The shower in our room did not drain well at all, and it was a huge struggle to get the TV to work. The person who finally got it working indicated that the TV had been struggling for a long time, so it's not a new problem. With a little finesse and finishing, the place has a lot more potential.
It was lovely to sleep over here and very comfortable. Even though the hot water system broke just before we arrived. Gabi quickly made plans and we were very pleased with the outcome. We were too late for dinner but the breakfast the next morning was delicious and very well prepared. The unit we had was spacious and very comfortably furnished and we had a wonderful stay there. This is a gem we will definitely visit again. It's a cool experience with a lot of romance woven between these old classrooms that have been transformed into beautiful rooms. Thank you Gabi.

Upon arrival we were warmly greeted. The meals offered by the place are also something to consider ─ dinner and breakfast at extra cost, but definitely value for money. The location is fantastic, not too far from everything but just enough to bring silence to your soul. People are pleasant and you can buy some of their own products at the gift shop. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to their Sultana chutney. Old School has tons of character. Feel free to visit and feel like a child again on the stoeps of Keimoes' old school. Go make yourself at home in grade 1, 2 or any standard and visit the infirmary for a dry throat.

We booked two rooms (4 adults and a 3 year old). Toilet and shower in one room started to give problems late at night (water supply), but luckily there was an open room to which they could move us. Apart from this, the stay was pleasant.
Can definitely recommend and the service and hospitality was excellent. Delicious meals. Given the heat, we think investing in a real pool will be worth it.
I would recommend any tourist to book at least one night here. The idea of converting an old school into a guest house was brilliant, original. The guest house is sparkling clean, the linen crisp and the home-cooked food delicious. The managers are super hospitable and can't do enough for her guests. Truly a delightful experience after a long day's travel through semi-desert environment.

Ou Skool is a beautiful place with lots of character. Young and old enjoyed staying here. Lovely, quiet and peaceful area with vineyards at the dining room and the most beautiful sunset. The road signs are very clear so it is easy to find the guesthouse. We checked in early in the evening, yet they didn't see any effort in preparing dinner for us. 1 hour later we enjoyed a wide variety of "boerekos" that was just superb. The next day was my son's birthday and I asked them if they might have a frozen muffin or something I can put a candle on for the occasion. Unfortunately they didn't, yet to my surprise the next morning there were chocolate muffins for all of us and one had a birthday candle. Thank you to the staff for your brisk service. I would gladly return to Ou Skool if ever I'm in Keimoes again.

The food and accommodation were top notch at very reasonable prices. My son and I had a really nice stay. The rooms are neat, sparkling clean and with a comfortable bathroom. The B&B caught us somewhat off guard as it implies that breakfast is included in the price of the room, which is not the case. The dinner we enjoyed there was top notch and the dining area almost opposite the vineyard (if you prefer to eat there and not in the "square") creates a unique atmosphere! They welcome you with open arms. Rooms are beautiful and practical, just what you need after a long journey with children in the car. Truly an oases after a long day on the road. The staff were very helpful and immediately made us feel at home. The units were also very neat and clean. We enjoyed dinner as well as breakfast there and when we left everything was already on the bill and we could just pay and go. Will definitely use the facilities again.

The accommodation is unique, and the hospitality with which we were received was a belt under the heart. It was delicious, and a bonus was that my two daughters were able to go "rapid" in the Orange River with inner tubes with another family that also stayed.

This is truly something we did not expect. The old school's identity has been retained, but the rooms and courtyard are truly something very special. There is also a lot of bird life. We have driven past here many times, but have never used the guest house. Now I am converted and I will definitely use it again. After a drive of over 800 km it was fantastic to be able to stay in such a pleasant, clean and friendly environment. The food was also delicious.

This was a pleasant place to stop for the night on the way to the West Coast. Friendly and helpful staff who spare no effort. Very special to see how an old school has been transformed into pleasant rooms.

I can recommend Old Skool to anyone. The place is clean, tidy and you get value for money. I would just say they should close the shower.
