At first we booked a smaller room, but because there was a bigger house still available, we were simply upgraded to him, for the price of the smaller house. The pool was very refreshing on the hot day we were there and it also has a nice view of the surrounding Tulbagh farms.
Wonderful owners. Very hospitable and delicious meals! The trip with the tractor and wagon up the mountain was exceptional!
No hot water, jacuzzi not working, no interaction. Locks of doors do not work. WiFi was not available. No warning about loadshedding.
Oudekloof has so much history that can be learned in the buildings and on the small walking trail towards the mountain side. In 1658, the first exploratory expedition to the interior over the mountains was undertaken here.
Did so much. Mountain out and dam around. Swimming was great.
We used Oudekloof as a base to explore the Tulbagh area - the estate's location was perfect for this. We also walked the footpath up the mountain - it offers a breathtaking view of the valley.
Our hosts were charming and helpful and the accommodation met all our needs - a party of six adults (four from the UK) and a family of four (including two children). The private swimming pool for the main house was used a lot and kept meticulously clean, and we appreciated that towels were provided for that purpose. We all enjoyed our stay very much and would love to stay there again in future.
What an amazing getaway. Owners was so friendly and we just loved our stay. Pool house has everything you need, so you can just chill there the entire day. Will definitely be back and bring our families.
