Nice setup, clean and tidy. Room comfortable. From the moment we arrived we were satisfied. Service, site, room, breakfast and everything with it was very nice. Staff is friendly and we enjoyed it a lot.
The stay was pleasant in a lovely location, central to all other amenities. Staff were friendly and helpful, with delicious breakfast served on both days that we were there. The room was clean, but the kitchen facilities in the room were somewhat outdated. Also, be warned that the climb to the upstairs room is not for the faint-hearted, or weak-limbed. However, it did afford us a lovely view over the premises.
The hot water supply to our residential unit (Stalle no. 6) was initially faulty, but was soon repaired. The access from the outside at the security gate did not work and we had to call the member of staff on duty to open the gate.
The only thing that unfortunately put us off a bit was that we asked for rose petals and then roses were just put down here and there. Perhaps the lodge should add "roses" to their extras instead of "rose petals". Other than that, we had no complaints.
Oudrift Riverside Lodge is a beautiful neat place, we really enjoyed the breakfast. Staff is very friendly.

We visited Aardklop and had a lovely stay in Oudrift Riverside Lodge. The restaurant's breakfast and dinner were very nice! The service we received was also very good! Will definitely stay there again.

The room decor was a bit dated and the shower was very small. Regardless, the rooms were tidy and comfortable. Excellent service in creating the booking but manager at breakfast was visibly annoyed with questions and unhelpful. A special mention to Thomas that compensated for the managers unpleasant behaviour by making us all feel welcome.
A peaceful atmosphere and comfortable rooms. The light switch in the kitchen didn't work and we could't turn the light off in the evening. There also wasn't any dishwashing liquid or a washcloth available in the kitchen and I could't wash my baby's bottles. Even when the cleaners came to clean the cottage, they simply rinsed out the coffee mugs with water and didn't wash it properly. The restaurant service was good and the dinners and breakfast were delicious.

It would have been very pleasant, but there was a Saturday afternoon fitness class on the lawn right in front of our room with deafening music and screaming children running past our vendors. We worked hard all morning and would really like to just relax in the afternoon and maybe go for a walk along the river. No one warned us ahead of time that there would be such a group. There is also no secure parking. No gate that is locked in the evening. Property is completely open for anyone to walk in freely.
We stayed in the cottage for 3 days. It is indicated that it is for 6 people, but it is in fact a one-bedroom with a TV room in which there is a bunk bed with a sleeper couch. The sleeper couch has no base, but is like a trampoline sail with a mattress that is exactly 3 cm thick, not even suitable for a toddler's weight. There is also no storage space or cupboards for the 4 guests who have to sleep in the TV room, only one cupboard in the one bedroom. The building is very old and freezing, the aircon didn't work either, so it was permanently freezing. The location of the cottage is also such that it gets very little sun/natural light. The train tracks pass 15 m behind the house and are very disturbing at night. We had friends staying in other single rooms who were very happy, but the cottage is definitely not value for money, and very definitely not suitable for 6 people as advertised. Buildings are old and need renovation. The linen is also old. Breakfast was nice and service in the restaurant was good.

We stayed in a standard room, and probably couldn't expect too much. But at R450 per person I expected more. Rooms are clean and tidy but it felt like we were staying in a prison with all the bars in front of the rooms and a communal gate that was very difficult to open and close. I would have been very happy with what we got if I had paid R300 per person instead. There was also no parking for us, and had to park quite far from the room. They also struggled with the administration. The cupboards that graze in front of the rooms are very cute! Breakfast was delicious!
