Lovely time in the kitchen with the indoor braai, cold evening but we were wonderfully warm. Beautiful house and lovely walk on the farm.

We had fun playing, walking, grilling, talking, sleeping and reading. And watched stars from the porch. Grandma Jossie's house is fully equipped and the "power blankets" (as our 6-year-old called them) were a winner in the cold evenings.
We had a lovely visit at Ouma Jossie's House with a real old farmhouse that makes you feel very much at home, the kitchen is any man and woman's dream with a braai and cooking facilities, large table and couch all in one room it's just where you spend most of your time with the family, the house makes you long for your own grandmother's house, we will definitely visit again. 10/10 for Grandma Jossie's House.
Stepping back in time - what a special home. The most exquisite starry skies, tranquility, the wind in the trees - it's a different beauty.

If you are looking for an authentic Karoo farm experience that is off the beaten track, then this is for you. Crisjan was an excellent host and Aubrey was fantastic with showing the kids around the farm. We were 2 families and there was ample space for all of us. Accommodation was comfortable and very cosy. The best part of the house is the kitchen and the indoor braai. The stargazing was also amazing. The road to the farm is gravel so be prepared to drive slowly!
The dirt road to Ouma Jossie's House is very bad and I would not recommend driving that road with an ordinary car. We had a wonderful stay and really enjoyed the farm life. We were 3 families with 2 small children and the house does not have a bath for children, so it was just a little funny, but otherwise lovely.
We were warmly received and made to feel at home with small details in Ouma Jossie's House. There was even a small Christmas tree put up especially for us. The jewel of a place is a living museum. We spent hours just showing each other treasures all over the house and taking pictures. We were a family group of three couples, a single person and two small children. It's a great house to accommodate so many people. We barbecued on the back porch (with wood brought in for us! Thank you very much.) and spent Christmas Eve under the clear starry sky. Thank you very much for your hospitality. Our hearts go out to you in this severe drought.
So many stories in every room and so much detail, love and effort! The rooms are wonderfully appointed for families. The kitchen with the fireplace were just perfect for long chats until the wee hours. Krisjan, thanks for al your effort with the kids and to feed all the little lambs and all the stories. It was the best way to recharge and make memories! We'll definitely be back!
Ideal self-catering house with all of the items that you need. A lot of places to walk or you can just relax and take in the beautiful environment. Sutherland is just around the corner and I will recommend that people visit Sterland on a cloudless night.
We were a group of 6 friends. Thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet. The braai in the kitchen is definitely a winner. The beds all have electric blankets and so we slept wonderfully warm in the cold, heart of winter. Marguerite and Crisjan immediately made us feel welcome and their hospitality is exceptional. We walked through the whole town on Saturday morning, no noise from vehicles. It was so nice to get out of the city even if it was just for a weekend. The stargazing at SALT was extremely disappointing. I would rather recommend the places in town although we haven't been there but heard it's much better and more value for money. In summary, I can only say that we enjoyed the weekend! Thank you very much.
It was a unique Karoo experience. It's a wonderful place to stay with friendly people and the most beautiful stars.
The Jordaans of Ouma Jossie made us feel like family as soon as we stepped in. There are few things as nice as real Karoo hospitality, a little Karoo fire in the dark night under a starry sky, the tranquility of a special farm, Karoo choppie, farm house with a real farm kitchen and so I can name many more . We can definitely recommend Ouma Jossie.
We stayed 2 nights and went stargazing. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this is the place: no cell phone signal, TV or even radio. We will definitely go again.
