Oupa Daan is a very nice holiday home. Well appointed and spacious. Nice view from the deck.
My husband and I stayed there for two days and it was just too short - we had a wonderful stay there. We are nature lovers and loved staying in the forest like this. The place was very nice and tidy and well equipped for the two of us. We got good service. One of the kitchen cabinet door hinges was loose and it was repaired for us the next day. A place we will definitely go back to!
I would just suggest that a lighter is left in the room so that if the electricity is out, you can still boil the kettle on the gas stove for some coffee. Otherwise, a lovely comfortable stay.
It's beautiful, with old-fashioned and modern facilities, all nicely furnished. Family home of which they are very proud! Special place where you can sit on the porch for days and just take in the forest! Just be aware of the stairs to the unit, but we had a great stay!
Disappointed that no one was there to show us around or that we did not have clear instructions as to what we were allowed to use and what not.
Certain things need to be replaced. The space was too small for all of us. We were with three adults and two small children - The unit is too small to accommodate everyone. There was no shower, only a bathtub which is quite inconvenient. The house being 'open' doesn't offer much privacy. When the other people who stay in the other units talk, you hear everything. There was no gas stove - With Eskom's situation, I would recommend it for sure. (There was a gas bottle with a label on it, to heat water / food). We did not have hot water on Friday due to the prolonged power outage at Natures Valley.
We had a blissful stay at Oupa Daan. The house had everything we needed and the beds and couches were comfortable. The house is neat and Danie and Anthony are impeccable with their customer service. The patio on the deck was our favourite spot as it felt as if we were in a treehouse and there was comfortable seating to lie and read. The Knysna loeries paid a visit every afternoon where we could see them up close, which was one of the highlights of our stay. We will definitely be returning!
We had a wonderful stay and would recommend Oupa Daan. Our only problem is that we are not provided with any towels. Couldn't see anywhere that we were warned against it. Luckily we had our own swimming pools. Otherwise a great time in quiet and beautiful surroundings!
Very comfortable house in a beautiful village.
The house is very comfortable with the best part being the porch area which stands in the tree tops. Delicious barbecue and hanging out on the stoep. Quite a few Knysnaloeries came to visit.
The house is in a quiet, tree-rich area. Walking distance from the beach and lagoon. We received clear communication about everything from the beginning. The house is well equipped and we really enjoyed the canoe. Anthony is an asset to you guys! We will definitely visit again!
It is a nice quiet area, we had a great rest. It was extra nice to be so close to the sea and have such a nice kitchen to cook in. Unbelievably nice stay and everyone was friendly.
Our weekend at Opa Daan was perfect. From the moment we got there and Anthony welcomed us so kindly, to the house which is so neat and well equipped, to Danie who goes out of her way to make your stay comfortable, everything was top notch. The cozy kitchen and porch between the trees was our favorite. Nature's Valley in general just surprised us and is picture perfect, clean and safe. We can't wait to visit Grandpa Daan again. We were not very excited to go back home.
We stayed in the lower unit which is spacious, tidy and completely adequate for a comfortable holiday. Kitchen fully equipped, fridge is spacious, big, everything a family needs on holiday to relax!
Oupa Daan exceeded all our expectations.
Highly recommended for an overnight stay in Nature's Valley. Perfect accommodation for us as family.
