Grateful for the discounted price - it's well located, but at the full season price it's quite expensive for what you get. Neat unit, but still very basic.
The unit was very well equipped and as 5 adults we stayed very comfortably. Communication from the hostess was always quick and helpful. Just something to keep in mind - in the lower unit, the wood floors above can be a nuisance. It also depends a lot on the guests upstairs. We didn't hear the first bunch at all, but when the second burst moved in above it was quite unpleasant. A shed underneath might also be a good investment. The sun in the afternoon drives you completely inside and if it rains you can't use the stoep either. The cleaners were also very early on our trail on our last morning - they were there by 07:30 and started cleaning up outside. It makes you feel quite rushed and we just packed up and drove. Other than that it was a really nice place to stay and you can't beat the location!
The place is not very clean and mold is everywhere in the place. Could not due to the smell does not sleep. The master bedroom smells like urine. We had to move to another room with 2 single beds. Very very unhappy with this place.
The excitement was great to stay in "Oupa se Pitte", especially with the beautiful nameplate and the sea in the background, but the disappointment was great! We were greeted by a fountain with dirty water and algae, in the corner next to the outdoor shower it looks like old tiles/construction debris lying there and up the stairs to the first floor the paint is peeling off the ceiling. There were stains on the tablecloth, towels, bedding and furniture. The chair in the room is full of spots and if you cover it, the cover has 2 long, ugly tears. The duvet cover's clips could not close all of them. The room only had 3 curtains and not 4. Linens were already old and shabby, including the non-matching pillowcases on the bed in the living room. The melamine on the kitchen counter is partially broken - looks like it burned before. At the sliding door, a piece of old dirty "salt and pepper" Van Dyk carpet has been inserted, as the other old, brown, natural fiber carpet is too short. The bathroom and kitchen doors cannot open all the way because the laundry basket and a cupboard that looks like a bookshelf are too big. The tub is old with permanent stains. The upper floor is not soundproof for snoring and crying children from the lower floor. The cutlery and kitchen appliances were of good quality.
It was so wonderful with the ocean on our doorstep. The children went down to the beach first thing in the morning and we felt so safe. So deliciously grilled with the most beautiful view! Will definitely visit again.

Complaint. Two units away, builders who walked past my booked unit and stared into my unit. Hence the doors could not have been opened to enjoy the view, which is what I specifically wanted and booked as a speacial treat to myself. This was unpleasant for me. Had I been informed that this would be the case, I would have booked with a different provider.
Communication with necessary information was complete, clear and accurate.

The house is top quality and wonderfully and comfortably equipped. Cleaning service was very inconvenient at 08:15 while we had until 10 hours to vacate - one felt very rushed and sorry but please. if you received a message that I did share my displeasure.
We enjoyed the house very much. Als was very nice clean and tidy. The house has everything you can think of, it is so fully equipped. Literally just take your food, clothes and swimming towels. The location is also excellent. Would love to go again.

Always difficult for me as a parent who has to bring my disabled (mentally and physically) adult child with me. We were 3 in a place that could sleep 8 and was a bit expensive.

What a hidden treasure, Inge went over and above what was needed. The Saturday evening the rain keep us indoors but honestly the games Inge provided kept us busy till late. Oupa se Pitte is really well equipped for summer or winter, rain or shine, busy weekend or relaxing getaway. Will be back.

We were at Oupa's Pitte for 3 days and it was truly one of the best getaways ever. The location, view, tranquility and safety speak volumes. One is so close to George, Wilderness and even Knysna that it can also be used as business accommodation. WiFi is reliable and I could use all Zooms etc. added without effort, and with a view.
One can enjoy the sea view, the beach and all the town movements each minute of the day and as the sun sets you experience the calmness and tranquillity. No place better on earth than Oupa se Pitte!

As promised, the unit was indeed on the beach. It's comfortable, neat, well-dressed and nicely supplied with braai facilities and kitchenware. The family unit was so comfortable, the shower facilities were great! Access to the main unit was easy. Large shutters that slide open on the upper unit were exceptionally nice for the real seaside atmosphere. Will definitely come again!

Lovely location, safe, fully equipped. We stayed on the ground floor. Only objection is that the second bathroom outside the unit is raised.
The location made up for the small space that the apartment offers for des person. It's great to be able to sleep six people, but the moving space inside is booked. I would not recommend it for winter visits when it rains. We spent a lot of time outside spread out. The two outside bathroom was a life saver! I realize the building is old so everything inside the bathroom is not that modern, but I would suggest you replace the toilet seat. The cover is broken off and it just looks bad. Even the shower door (inside bathroom) is broken and the glass panel slides out of its frame. We all took a shower in the back because we were afraid the shower door would fall out. Therefore I feel it was not 100% value for money. But the service was great, Inge was fantastic and we will go again.
Location is fantastic. But maintenance on unity is urgently needed. One glass panel next to the lower folding door was broken. It's a danger. The lower unit's sink has leaks under the sink. It's very wet there and the shelves have started to get damaged with the moisture. Upper bathroom blind was broken, and the carpets are not neatly clean. We had a great stay, but the unit definitely needs work.

Grandfather's Pitte was a wonderful break for us. The location is fantastic, by the water but not on the sand. The house is tidy, with everything you need, and a couch that no one really wanted to get up from. The master bedroom's mattress is firm and sleeps like a dream. Note that you will hear the upstairs guests moving due to the wooden floors. The braai area is slightly low - tall people will find it uncomfortable. I would suggest that the owners look into burglar bars at the opening windows, for better ventilation with peace of mind. exGauteng, we don't leave windows open at night without burglar bars. It was very nice to stay there, and we will come again.

It was the nicest getaway one could ask for. The house is very neat and has everything you need. The location is fantastic with the sea right in front of the house. Inge made sure everything was perfect and she was very accommodating and friendly.

Beautiful view and very peaceful. Only disappointment is that the upper unit has wooden floors and this causes the guests in the lower unit to hear every sound of any movement above them. We literally had to wake up and get up at 05:45 at the weekend with the guests above us.
The accommodation is in a wonderful location and is close to the beach and sea. The main bedroom has beautiful furniture. The dining and lounge area is cramped and it would have worked better if the living room was bigger and there were only two bedrooms. There is no space for groceries, but the kitchen is well-equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit.
A beautiful place. Great right on the beach, sit on your balcony and enjoy the sun and sea and watch the sun go down. Like most holiday homes, the pots and pans could be of better quality.

The upper unit with its wooden floors may not be so suitable for busy little ones. The broken tiles and rusty fridge are an indication that maintenance is required. The DStv gave us problems throughout our stay. However, the positive points far outweigh the few negatives and we will definitely make a reservation here again in the future and recommend it to friends and family!

Right from the get-go we had a lovely view and the fresh sea air made us breathe deeply and relax. The children really enjoyed it and we could hardly get them off the beach. The facilities also provided all the necessities for our stay. It was hard saying goodbye to this exceptional place!

It was a lovely weekend in a lovely, nice old-fashioned house without frills and too many modern decorations. So nice to just be able to hang out in a nice old living house that doesn't feel like a decorated guest house! This is a lovely living house right on Heroldsbaai's beach. Do yourself a favor and visit there! All I would change is to put a hearth in the living room!
It is the perfect location in Herolds Bay. The decor is a bit eclectic, but the view happily makes up for it.
House (upper part) is perfectly located for a beach holiday, has a nice sitting area and is well equipped. The one bedroom is outside and the house a bit cramped, so I wouldn't recommend it for families with small children, but for us it worked well.
The roof leaks to the right of the front door and also to the left behind the bed. It makes the carpet smell terrible. Cushions can be replaced, it's very flat. Hope the feedback will help. We will definitely come and stay again.
It was lovely to be able to stay so close to the beach. With small children who want to play on the sand from an early age, it was ideal. We would LOVE to go there again.
