53 guests' feedbackLovely spacious house, just a pity about the showers' hot water problem. Will definitely stay at Outdoor Arena again, next time for more than 1 night!
It's wonderful to be able to stay on the water, sit outside and barbecue, and fish from your porch. Or walk a little further when he bites. The visit was just too short!
Beautiful view, peaceful and pleasant atmosphere.
Just suggest that they hang a blind at the front door.
Beautiful neat place with safe parking and peaceful atmosphere. I will definitely come again.
It was very nice to sleep there, very peaceful and safe.
Great place to stay with sufficient amenities, with proximity to the local supermarket. Most (non-commercial) wine farms in the surrounding area are closed on Sundays, so plan your activities in advance. The unit could do with a few modern upgrades, especially the furniture. The WiFi is inaccessible and needs to be upgraded if it is advertised as available. We were not able to connect on an iPhone 11. We were not advised to bring a lighter, and only 2 matches were provided for the entire stay. We were expecting to find at least a box of fire lighters and a lighter. It is suggested that the website stipulates that guests bring their own firewood.
We were only two and think the space would be better for a bigger family or group. Very peaceful. The restaurant had friendly service and good play facilities.
Lovely break, front door needs a blind for privacy, cottage 2, mats needed for showers, safety concern. Lights on bridge to cottage 2, overpowering and attract insects and safety concern!
Bunch of guys and my wife on a motorcycle trip. Nice place to stop over and relax for the night. Lovely area to visit. Two of the guys want to come back with their family. My only comment, is no soap in the bathrooms, towels are supplied and all kitchen utensils also.
We couldn't do much because the weather didn't cooperate. It was a cold weekend in Bonnievale. The banks of the Breede Rivers were flooded and it was an experience to stare at the flow of the water on the bridge. Afterwards we lit a fire in the fireplace and just took it easy.
Had a wonderful stay. They can do some cleaning and maintenance. The houses urgently need attention. Spray off and varnish.
The cottage was huge and will comfortably cater for 6 persons. Lovely setting. So peaceful and tranquil. Really fantastic. Pity it was only for 1 night.
It's a nice farm atmosphere.
Very clean and tidy. All you need. Beautiful ponds and the most beautiful sunsets!
Very convenient. Had a lovely 2 day break. The house was neatly arranged. The deck and path were not "toddler friendly" but it didn't matter. Will definitely make use of the accommodation.
A glass stove for load shedding to heat up water for a coffee or make breakfast would have been beneficial. The loadshedding times were very inconvenient during our stay.
Definitely value for money!
Had a wonderful stay. Can definitely recommend it. Feel free to take a fishing rod with you.
The Fishing Cabins have everything you could possibly need. It is large and a nice cozy cabin with air-cons in the bedrooms and full DStv. If I had to give any criticism, I would say the walkways between the cottages need some attention, but they are completely safe and we had no problems. Thank you very much for the opportunity to hold the New Year's celebrations there.
It was a very pleasant place. Very spacious, and comfortable. Everything you need. It would have made our stay much better if there was a pool. Kids were a bit difficult to go swimming. We just drove to Arniston that day. I will come again as soon as there are swimming facilities. But it is a very beautiful place.
The woodwork and wooden bridges between houses need urgent attention. The splash pool is definitely not swimmable.
Friendly people and plenty of play space for the children.
Would love to use the accommodation there again. The owners are very hospitable and helpful.
Location is great, security is outstanding.
The reception was very friendly and helpful. The cottage was 5 star. Everything was very neat and in place and worked well. The beds and bedding were fantastic. The restaurant's food was extremely poor. It's a great pity. Would not recommend it at all. The noise from the main road was a bit noisy at times throughout the day. Otherwise, I had a very nice stay there.
The facilities was way above expectations, with beautiful surroundings, and stocked with everything needed to enjoy a getaway. We enjoyed our stay and would happily return for another visit to the valley.
We had no hot water because the geyser that was outside was also turned off. The DStv hung up the whole time so we couldn't turn on the TV for the children at all.
We had been to Outdoor Arena before where one would say it was definitely a holiday. Now I am saddened to say it is not really a holiday. If you're planning on staying longer than two days, you have to take your own toilet paper, extra bath towels, tea, coffee, sugar and be prepared to clean your own cabin as this facility is not available without extra cost. These are charges over and above your accommodation. The unit we were in we had to call every time to gain access into the complex as the remote was not activated to allow us entry. This was a little of a downside calling every time. The other downside was the restaurant was closed due to renovations. All and all the fishing was okay. The rock pool is not a swimming pool, which would have been an added bonus.
Very nice stay in a very neat Fishing Villa. Was a quiet weekend with few guests. Nice fishing and my little girl also enjoyed it a lot. The road is quite noisy but at least it didn't bother us too much. Mari was very helpful and friendly with the check-in and queries we had.
See stars.
The place was amazing, truly exceeded my expectations.
Everything well organized and nice.
This was out second visit, and again my kids cried to not go home! Such a peaceful place! If the venue was able to offer horse rides for the kiddies, that would be a big bonus!
Very peaceful and clean place.
Friendly staff, very helpful. The apartment was very neat and spacious.
We had a very nice stay. The house is fully equipped. The fireplace and porch view were the highlight. Would have preferred the railing on the porch to be a bit safer, was a bit nerve wracking with my kids. But otherwise no complaints. Nice clean and quiet. And safe.
Outdoor Arena has everything you need for a nice weekend away. We will certainly stay at Outdoor Arena again.
Loved it there, out of town, away from the stresses of the day.
It was great but not exactly kid friendly. The railings are very unfinished, meaning there are large open sections between them.
It's a beautiful place. Friendly people. But some soap in the cabin would've been nice. No perks other than coffee/sugar.
Breathtaking views. The splash pool was being treated while on our stay, but the kids were able to play in the little stream. There isn't much for the kids to do besides fishing and swimming.
Outdoor Arena exceeded all of our expectations. It was walking distance from a visit/eating place and the backpackers were extremely neat and the whole house was clean. We will definitely go back.
They were even willing to try to help with tube lights that burned in the early hours of the morning.
House is clean with enough space inside and out. All the necessary facilities. The woodwork across the river might need some attention shortly.
Sadly we only got to stay for one night which is not nearly enough time to establish a love for a place. We only have two negatives and that is that there wasn't enough coffee for three residents and that its situated on a fairly busy road. The teenagers I was with loved it, and if you can get teens to enjoy anything its a miracle. So it's a win. Loved the fishing and the restaurant on the premises is very well priced.
Accommodation is neat and clean. Owner did say they were going to install cameras even though they had a strong suspicion of who broke into my vehicle. The SAPS was called by the owner. But I will definitely visit there again. Just hope the cameras arrive quickly.
Place is very quiet. Kitchen needs attention. The pool was a bit of a let down. But apart from that, everything was okay.
We had a nice stay, but the on-site restaurant was closed all weekend. We had to drive about an hour to eat out. Because there are no places to eat nearby. The room is also very basic, not worth the money we paid. But it's a nice place if you go with a lot of people. And it's beautiful there.
Everything we needed for a weekend away.
It was very nice to spend the night there. The shower and toilet facilities are just not that nice at all!
The chalets are neat and well equipped, but need a bit of renovation. Unfortunately one of the air conditioning units in our chalet was out of order and with temperatures varying between 35 - 41 degrees it was a bit uncomfortable. We were disappointed that there was so little water, but this is obviously beyond the owner/staff's control. If we had been warned about it in advance, the disappointment might not have been so great. We will definitely visit Outdoor Arena again in the winter.
Our TV and video machine did not work after it was advertised that DStv was available. No one was available to help me and none of the owners or person handling the booking was available to talk to and resolve the issue. Not value for money at all.
