Very friendly people. Josie and Riaan have a nice chat about the history of the antiquities on the site. Slept very well.

With the terrible rain, we couldn't do much or drive around. Fortunately for DSTV, we were able to pass the time. The owners are incredibly friendly. We were able to walk around the yard and take pictures (asked for permission). Very neat and clean.

Outpost was a 1 in a 1000 experience. Everyone should experience the interesting and nostalgic depiction of teatime and the owners are happy to share their collection with you. Owners very concerned about their guests. Highly recommended.

Outpost Self-catering is indeed a gem. What a nostalgic blast from the past. We enjoyed our stay to the fullest. The hosts are phenomenal. Having been exposed to the hospitality industry with my in-laws' guest house, I can appreciate all the little details. Thank you.
Was nice, but it's not self-catering, just a kettle and microwave. Thank you for the fruit trees where we could pick fresh fruit to eat. Wi-Fi doesn't work.
What a wonderful experience to step into the wonderland of Jozie and Riaan's "Old-fashioned Collectables" and indulge in nostalgia!
The place is neat and clean. Hospitable owners. Hordes of memorabilia from the past that is an experience. Free Wifi is in the advertisement which is not the reality. Both my wife and I ended up under a freezing cold shower after it was warm to begin with. We had to call 2 times so that the host could fix the gas geyser and the experience was unpleasant especially because load shedding started at 8 am and we got up earlier for shower and hot coffee! The bathroom sink is in the kitchen area which makes it even smaller and it is difficult to eat at the table due to the limited space. Meals cannot be prepared there, there is only a microwave on top of the fridge. For people who just want to sleep over I would recommend Outpost.
Exactly what we needed for our short time in Heidelberg. It was a hot day, but I slept well with the air conditioning and cooled off in the splash pool.
The whole experience was great. They have a true gem.

Riaan and Josie have an incredible collection of old nameplates, advertisements, road signs etc. Much of South Africa's history is captured there. The accommodation was small, but super comfortable and very nice and clean. Well worth a visit!
We were warmly welcomed by Riaan and Josie. They went out of their way to make our stay pleasant and interesting. The unit is equipped with everything you would need and a lot of extras that you don't find in other places. We will not drive through Heidelberg again without staying there. They definitely deserve 12 out of 10. Thank you very much Riaan and Josie!
Fantastic communication before and during my stay. I had pets traveling with me while exhibiting at the annual Great Pumpkin Festival. The hostess, Josie, was kind enough to send me photos of the two while they were waiting for me. Air conditioning, DStv package and even biscuits! Cool and safe parking out of sight. Every sign, pump and road sign tells a story - go and enjoy the journey!
A museum on its own. Incredible collection of gas stations and other old things. Too bad the beautiful VW fridge makes a lot of noise at night. For the rest everything ok.
My visit was pleasant. I had a long visit because I was in Heidelberg for work. I was spoiled by all kinds of home baked goods (which were not part of the package) and the owners made sure every now and then that everything was in place and that I had everything I needed. They made sure my vehicle was safe and parked in the cool. The room has air conditioning and is extremely clean. I would recommend the accommodation to anyone. It is a unique experience to go back like this and also experience nostalgia with all the old memories of the past (if you are from the older generation).
We were received so kindly. It was a journey to yesterday shared with us. Everything was so neat, beautiful and well equipped. Our dogs had a feast on the secure large grounds.

Almost impossible to describe the experience - it literally feels like you're spending the night somewhere between a roadside gas station and museum from the distant past. Wonderful, with the most hospitable host and lady imaginable! Perfect overnight stop. Would recommend without hesitation.
It was a trip into the past for us with all the nostalgia and memories of old that they collect. Everything is so exquisite and stylish.
