57 guests' feedbackWe thoroughly enjoyed the long weekend at Outsiders B&B. The room is neat and clean, equipped with only the basic overnight necessities. Katrin provided us with information about the town and we thoroughly enjoyed the journey of discovery. Enjoy a festival of gourmet restaurants, art and history across the Karoo and walk the streets safely at night. Our two dogs traveled together and the residence and town are pet friendly.
I was received very kindly by the owner. The accommodation was clean, tidy and very well located. The owners are real ambassadors for New Bethesda.

The host and wife are Nieu Bethesda Bittereinders. They are hospitable, friendly and laid back. Included is a delicious breakfast, fresh bread and real coffee! The B&B is pet friendly.
It was lovely to sleep over at Outsiders and to wake up the next morning to a delicious breakfast prepared for you in the house.

Centrally located, no-frills B&B (only tea and coffee-making facilities in the room) that provides good value, comfortable lodgings, and a good breakfast. No wi-fi in my room, you apparently have to sit on the host's front stoep to pick it up and I only sat there for breakfast.

Very comfortable spacious room with porch for visiting just next to the entrance to the Uilhuis Museum. Nice heaters, electric blanket and hot water bottles for cold nights. No fridge or facilities for self-catering, but there is a kettle and cups for coffee and tea. Fridge space is available at the backpackers across the street and there are many restaurants within walking distance. Barbecue grill is available. During our visit, there were very limited museum hours for the Owl House (8:00 - 13:00 on Monday to Wednesday), so you wouldn't be able to go to the museum if you arrived after 13:00 and had to leave early the next morning. not, but the problem is now receiving attention.
Conveniently located to explore the entire town. Neat and comfortable. Friendly reception and delicious breakfast on the veranda with a view.

I was greeted by a friendly staff member and made to feel welcome from the beginning. There was an American couple who were the hosts. They were very friendly and welcoming. The room was comfortable and clean.
Friendly hosts, informative about the village, and serves a good breakfast. They also have self-catering.
The owner was very accommodating and friendly and immediately provided a town map showing the most important places, but the facilities were poor. The towels for example were washed out and rock hard so I didn't even use them. Breakfast was very amateurish. There was no plug for two-point gear.

Room was neat and clean. Unfortunately no fridge (yes there is one across the street), shower's hot water takes a long time so a waste of water and a bigger bed would have been nice. We really enjoyed the breakfast. Pleasant host and hostess. Thank you very much.

My accommodation at Outsiders was very nice. The house was big for a single traveller, but neat with everything one needs.
Slept very well, clean and tidy accommodation with en-suite bathroom with shower. Coffee and tea facilities. It exceeded my expectation.
The room was spacious, neat and clean. It served the purpose for one night's stay. Breakfast was delicious although unfortunately we couldn't stay to enjoy it.
Too bad there is no bar fridge or TV in the room, the evening can get long. I only drink tea and powdered milk doesn't work so well in tea. A small fridge can therefore help. The bath towels are also very very hard, but otherwise very good sleep and small breakfast was also nice.
We had a great time in Nieu Bethesda, loved every moment! Enjoyed a rock concert by the Fake Leather Blues Band, had good food and immensely friendly hosts, Kathrin and Ian Allemann. Definitely recommend!
No place to hang clothes. How about a hanging closet? Could do with a shelf in the bathroom to put toiletries on. A shelf or table with a mirror in the bedroom will help, because the mirror in the bathroom is not sufficient. The gas geyser in the bathroom wastes an awful lot of water in the shower to finally get hot water. Can provide a mug to draw water in bathroom to fill kettle. Towels are rock hard and can be used instead of face towels. washcloths provided. Could do with a microwave and small fridge to keep drinks cold, especially in the summer. Bed linen was good, except for the duvet which was scanty. Try a queen size bed for a double bed.
The room was extremely small without TV. The bedding was creased and the towels were so hard. There is no place to put your things in the bathroom and there was no hot water. Breakfast terrible, bread stale and really not what was expected.

We would have appreciated it if there was rooibos tea in the units and a better type of coffee.

Interesting and good to go back in time. Nice to experience the architecture and life of the 1950s. Will definitely stop there again and make more time to explore the lovely surroundings
We have been threatening to visit New Bethesda for a long time and are so grateful that we were finally able to fit the 2 nights into our itinerary. What a wonderful old town and excellent overnight facilities! I tell anyone who will listen about the sparkling, high-quality bedding - just what a weary traveler needs.

A surprising village in the Karoo!
When we arrived, they told us that the big house was available, and at no extra cost. We stayed in the "Outsiders" house - it was spacious and neat. The wooden floors and quaint feel was unbelievable. There were even a beautiful cat on the patio who made herself at home on my lap. The house is well equipped and we had a good night's rest and enjoyed our time there. One small remark: the towels in the bathroom wasn't very user-friendly. I don't know if it's the type of water or maybe too much sun, but it made them very hard and inconvenient to dry.
Lovely place to spend one or a few nights. Fair rates that even includes breakfast. We would recommend it to anyone.

We stayed in Outsiders for one night. The unit offered everything we needed for the night.
The multiplug in the bedroom is very old and I couldn't plug my cell phone charger into the socket. The bathroom/shower needs upgrading. No cupboard to hang up clothes.
Great to be greeted by host remembering your last visit. Great food with lovely ambiance. Great clean, comfortable accommodation. Great attention to detail. Nothing overlooked to ensure one's comfortable stay. Highly recommended and will return time and again.
The meal at the owners' restaurant was a bit disappointing. One gets very little food for the R80 pot of food.
I think probably because there is so little water you can't really garden, but I believe and trust that something can be done about the weeds that grow wild in the garden. We felt uncomfortable about snakes and spiders because the garden was untidy.
The room was not serviced (it is self-catering). An old piece of soap from a previous guest was left in the shower. The inside of the kettle was very dirty. The chair for the dressing table was used as a bedside table? There is no storage space at all. These were irritations which affected our enjoyment. The accommodation is, however, comfortable and is quite inexpensive.
Very basic and modest accommodation for those who do not mind that - no luxuries here.
There is a stove in the cottage, but no microwave. Also note that there is no cleaning service. Furthermore, everything was comfortable and convenient!
The room is neat, but has the absolute minimum amenities. The sheets and the towels are clean, but not of the best quality. If you want to sleep in Nieu-Betesda for one night in a basic accommodation, this is not bad.
Very nice and safe, everything clean, and nice hot water. We also slept nice and warm, because it was quite cool at the weekend.
Experiencing the village, its people and history was a pleasant experience. The accommodation is simple, but blends in wonderfully with the surroundings and adds to a wonderful experience.
