The Owl Nest House is nested on the edge of the artistic Karoo town of Nieu Bethesda, surrounded by agricultural fields, groves, and mountains and mere 300 m walk from the well-known Owl House. The house offers a practical modern layout and modern features while maintaining the aesthetic characteristics of a classic Karoo 'barn' design with old Oregon pine wooden floors and Oregon window frames. The property in general and the upstairs braai room specifically offers breathtaking views of the adjacent fields, groves, Kompasberg and historical Dutch Reform Church.
The house can accommodate up to 6 adults with 2 children, and comprises 4 bedrooms, and 2 en-suite bathrooms. The main bedroom contains a double bed. The second and third bedroom each contain 2 single beds, while the fourth bedroom contains a bunk bed ideal for kids. A shower and bath are available in each of the 2 bathrooms. Note that the two on-suite bathrooms allow for an ideal occupation scenario of 2 couples and 4 children. Please take note that the layout of the 2 en-suite bathrooms may not be ideal for 3 different couples or families. Towels and bedding are provided.
The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and contains a stove, oven, 2 retro fridge-freezers, microwave, dishwasher, and cutlery and crockery. Tea and coffee are provided. The Breakfast area has seating for 6 guests.

Excellent service, very nice place that is well decorated. We had a very nice stay. Jaco kept us up to date on everything that was happening in the area.
We had a great stay, although short. We were happy to be welcomed by the community. Jaco made us feel very comfortable with the last-minute arrangements.

The house is convenient and neat and the braai is lovely on the top floor. The place is fenced in and that made it a lot easier to have a dog there. There is a lot of room in the fridge and the beds were very comfortable. More than enough towels, bedding and crockery. Jaco is exceptionally helpful and provided a lot of info on the town and restaurants etc. I can't really complain about anything. We accidentally packed Jaco's Magneto light because we took the same one with and instead of assuming that we stole it, Jaco was very diplomatic. He is really very hospitable and accommodating.

We had a great time in Owl Nest.
The venue was lovely and spacious, and the host was accommodating and responsive to queries. The only slight drawback is the fact that both bathrooms are en-suite, so there was no other privately accessible bathroom for people in other rooms. This meant that our friends staying in the other rooms had to pass through our bedroom, or the bedroom of another couple, to use the bathroom. This was a bit awkward, especially after we went to bed at night.
