Oyster Bay Lodge can also be used as a base to visit nearby attractions like Tsitsikamma National Park, Addo Elephant National Park and Baviaanskloof Mega Reserve. We are close to whale watching, deep sea fishing, 4 x 4 trails and golf courses in the luxury coastal village of St. Francis Bay.

8 guests' feedbackStunning lodge with the tastiest food and friendliest staff - a real gem on the garden route! You can just switch off and do nothing or choose to do one of the many activities. We loved it!
Amazing and helpful staff. The trails and beach, absolute bliss.
There were flies all the time. When you try to take a nap in the afternoon 10 flies try to sit on your face. The owner claimed this is only the case sometimes, but the restaurant staff confirmed that it's like that all the time. Our geyser had cold water. The place is kilometres from the beach. Had we known that, we wouldn't have booked here. They provided the tame horses to the Germans to ride, and to my family they provided wild horses which they caught in the field. My wife sustained serious back injury after falling off one of the horses. My daughter's friend and the guide also fell off. So 3 of the 5 in the group fell off. We made it clear to them that we are beginners, yet they took the group on a route and galloped like professionals. The people there don't know what they're doing.
What a beautiful place. Nature is amazing. The walk along the beach to Klippepunt is a highlight. The horses are so beautiful and give you a nostalgic feeling. The food is extremely tasty, the accommodation was clean and of good quality. Feel free to take a long bath with your loved one with a fire crackling in the background with a nice glass of red wine in your hand. Would definitely recommend to anyone who just wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Oyster Bay Lodge offered us a relaxing atmosphere and we will return here again.
One negative was that I found the mattress quite hard and did not like the plastic pillows. It would also be nice if one could just order a sandwitch for lunch, instead of having to order a picnic. On the other hand, the horse riding excursion was very reasonably priced and absolutely fantastic!!
Claire (the "hostess") is very good. The breakfast in the morning was of high quality. It is definitely worth the 4 stars it is "rated". We will go there again.
