I phoned them the Friday to tell them my plans to propose and they had a lovely setup in the room with roses and sparkling wine, Annette was very excited as well but she was an amazing host and we really enjoyed our weekend away.
Pleasant welcome on arrival by the hostess. The room was very nice and had all the amenities that we needed. All in all a very pleasant night's stay.

The view from the room was of a broken motorcycle stuffed under a bush. No views of the mountain or of Paarl from the room. Load shedding is a problem we all face but hopefully better than this. the 'security' gate for the vehicles that parked outside our room was disconnected. Just manually push it open and close. Maybe it's not a high-risk area, but if anyone just pushed the gate open at any time, it's not much security. In the morning, while the power was on, there was no hot water for the bath or shower. Maybe load shedding knocked off some settings, but that should be something that had been sorted by now already. Price was acceptable for a bed for the night, but that's about all going for the place.
Accommodation was average, my husband expected better but it was sufficient if you sleep over one night, clean and tidy.
The room had a foul, sour smell. To get to the room from parking there is a dangerous and unsafe walking area. The parking is not suitable for large vehicles. Units definitely need maintenance and upgrading. What is real is vastly different from photos on the website.
Place dirty, had soil on corners, hair on bedding, shower floor not clean.

We decided on the spur of the moment to book ourselves a place to stay the night in the Praal and we were not disappointed. We were received so kindly and made to feel welcome. The room is neatly and tastefully furnished. Good quality bed.
The bathroom was a bit dirty (the fan and tiles). There was no WiFi reception in the room.

There is no microwave oven, the small fridge is very impractical, there are no plates, knives or forks. There aren't even wine glasses! What place in Paarl doesn't even provide wine glasses!

What an experience. Bryan and Annette were a great host and hostess and don't forget Monty (Basset). You felt welcome from the start. We were treated like family. Breakfast in the mornings was great. In the evening on the deck the wine tasting was just as enjoyable. We were also given advice on what to visit and where to eat. Thank you very much Bryan and Annette, we will have good memories for a long time. If we come to Paarl again, we will definitely stay with you again.

Accommodation was up to standard. Personally, I felt the room was very small for the money we paid. There is also no view from the room as the room's door runs out against the boundary wall of the neighbor next to the guest house.

Our stay at the Paarl Mountain Lodge was relaxing and excellent value for money! Clean, newly decorated and furnished rooms with airconditioning. Breathtaking views of wineries and mountains in the area for breakfast and evening wine tasting. Lovely owners who go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Property is well situated for ease of highway access whilst being in a quiet and tranquil area.
The owners are warm and welcoming. Our room, although very neat, smelled like a smoker had stayed there. The bed was lovely big and very comfortable. I understand that with daily guest turnover costs go up, but I feel the rate is too high for what the guesthouse offers. Our room was close to the kitchen and a lot of the walls are made of plaster which does not help with soundproofing. We would also have preferred to be more central, but that's something I should have planned better.
