I needed a cost-efficient place to stay for two nights, and this fit the bill. A basic set-up, but with everything I needed. The view was really lovely, so that was a bonus, and it was offset from the main road, so noise was not an issue. Nice hot shower, which is important for me. The mattresses were spring-type mattresses, which is not my preferred choice as I like a very firm foam mattress - but that's just me. I was able to sleep perfectly well. Friendly host and easy to communicate with. Thank you for the stay.

I needed a place to stay for a return trip from Gqeberha to Cape Town. For this purpose, Paradise Heads was appropriate. I would not recommend it for a getaway with loved ones and children as it is old and tired. For overnight it had what I needed. A comfortable bed, shower, microwave and secure parking. And to my great relief, the car gate worked in load shedding!

It's not fair to rate Paradise Heads poorly. If you are looking for a reasonably comfortable place to stay, it's ok. Nothing fancy, and reasonable for its price point. The beds are uncomfortable and the bedding is not great. I rearrange the beds a bit to a layout that made more sense for a single person and moved the extension cord next to my bed to charge devices. The view is nice. I arrived late, which they were very accommodating about, but put me in the wrong room, and I had to change to a less comfortable room. Fellow guests can definitely be heard in the next rooms. On my second night, they arrived home late and it was really disruptive. I think this is due to poor soundproofing. I got my own coffee, tea, and milk at the garage down the road. A little more attention to detail and friendlier, and more of a focus on hospitality and service and maybe an investment in some nicer bedding would really elevate this place into a hidden gem. Also, there needs to be a safe place to drop off keys after exiting using the remote. I left at 5 am.
There were spiders and webs, the bedding was dusty and stained, the geyser water was rusty, the garden below was littered and the jacuzzi had algae so it could not be used.
First I booked the triple chalet with balcony (1 single bed and double bed), got a room with 2 single beds and king size double bed. Entrance from porch leading to other rooms, noisy, light on porch burns all night and illuminates room, furniture is very old and deserves something more comfortable. Garage door is opened and closed from time to time which was right by our room and very disturbing just when the little one is sleeping, he wakes up from the noise. Bed linen and towel clean, but no broom in unit to clean, you leave something on the table, the ants climb on it like an anthill, no Doom to spray. Turn on the bedside lamp, trip the "plugs", had to send WhatsApp and only a while later the owner's daughter came to turn on the "trip switch" without coming to hear from us what the problem was, the bedside lamp's plug was damaged and a big safety risk . Loose tiles in kitchen area. Just informed about loadshedding schedule for the day of arrival, but no further information about loadshedding, just had to see when power goes out. Definitely not walking distance to the Waterfront either, quite a steep climb back to the unit. View from stoep is great, but no, won't go there again. A note in the kitchen to leave R20 for cleaning dishes and also R20 for refilling coffee/sugar sachets that are in the kitchen - how ridiculous.
Wifi struggled, no MNet. Units not particularly clean. According to me we would have had a balcony but unit 2 has no balcony. Security gate gave problems. Barbecue facilities rusted on balcony in front of house. No barbecue facilities at units. Jacuzzi dirty, no water, do take into account it is winter. No remote control provided for unit 2, had to go and ask for one. Worst is no welcome or visit from owner. Did get a message on Friday afternoon to pay the outstanding amount. Weakest accommodation. There were previous complaints on reviews as well.
The only reason they don't get 5 stars for cleanliness is because the building has a funny old sea smell. It's old, not luxurious, but really clean with a view of the Knysnakoppe. It's cheap, so don't expect anything fancy. It's relatively close to the N2, so it does get noisy from time to time.
Don't think it will work for longer than overnight. The kitchen equipment is relatively old and will make cooking a bit difficult.

Room has beautiful view and location is very central. I missed a hair dryer and the TV signal was very bad (we were mostly out so didn't bother us, but for someone who wants to watch tv it won't work). Secure parking and strong WiFi.

Just not to my taste.
For the price we paid, the room was a disappointment. Everything is clean, but it is very small and relies on the view to let the place out. The photos are accurate, but know that they literally show the entire room. The shower pipes are not properly tightened. So you can't set the shower at all.
The view of Knysna Heads and the Lagoon is great. The room, although big with all the required facilities, was very tired and cold. Spare blankets were in very poor condition. Wooden toilet seat cracked and unhygienic.
Have a good rest and the view is incredible.
Paradise Heads would definitely be recommended by me as it is a great place to stay with security and a quiet pleasant environment. The management staff is very effective and never redundant. When you go to Knysna just book the place and see for yourself.

No braai facilities, had to keep asking, where is the braai. After a few days, a small braai was bought which had to be shared with other guests. Other guests borrowed pots and pans and two-plate stove from us to prepare their food. When we asked for the Jacuzzi's key, then it was said that the Jacuzzi was broken. The tables outside the sleeping places were dilapidated and broken so couldn't even sit outside and enjoy the view. The information card that was in the rooms says daily clean towels and swimming towels available at R20. But that too was not available and then we heard that it was the previous owners arrangements, but the information card still had their names on it. The TV channels were not available at all. A note at the chalets says leave R20 for dirty dishes just to come back and it's still like that, so there were no washing up facilities. The pots and pans that were there were broken with off handles.
The fridge made a noise all night. There is no bedside cupboard on the window's side.
Needs urgent maintenance. No facilities to wash and dry laundry. Bathrooms are old and lack maintenance. The braai facilities referred to are a small weber.

Very disappointed.We were placed in a very inferior unit than we discussed. No DStv in the unit as advertised. No private balcony. Cigarette smoke from the main house came through to our unit in the evenings. Old, washed towels. We recorded it with the website that recorded it with Celester. Celester informed us that she will not contact the owners to sort things out, but that she will move us to another unit for two nights and then give one night for free. We did not accept it and decided not to pay the balance. No apology was offered.
We had a great time. The place is very beautiful and peaceful, ideal for couples who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

We really needed Wi-Fi as kids are doing exams and had to sit outside the caretakers flat to get it. Even then it didn’t work.

Accommodation is a wooden unit with very old equipment. The hanging cupboard is in the entrance by the door which makes access difficult and the hanging space is so narrow that a clothes hanger cannot hang straight. No service is provided and the unit is not equipped with an ironing board or iron. We had to use the so-called laundry of the owners, which is not freely accessible, used to iron wrinkled clothes.
We were very comfortable in this beautiful apartment no 4. It was clean and neat. Eddie and Barbara were awesome. The view from our balcony was so beautiful, a perfect place to sit and unwind after a day of sight-seeing. The Jacuzzi was a real bonus after a hot day's drive. Thank you so much, we will definitely come back.

I will use Paradise Heads again in the future. Environment is very peaceful and safe. It was a pleasant break for me and family. Though somewhat small, the price is reasonable. Very neat with all the basic necessities. Beautiful view of the lake. Friendly hostess, secure parking.
We stayed two nights in unit 5. The unit has a fantastic location and we were able to sit on the balcony and watch the sun set over the lagoon and Knysna. The units' walls are thin, but this is understandable in a log cabin. The place had everything needed to make our stay enjoyable, and customer service was great. The WiFi was also very good, and would definitely stay there again.

Our stay was unfortunately only for one night and I would definitely like to stay there longer in the future. The accommodation was clean, tidy and although small, everything we needed was there. Extra towels are also provided! It was a very luxurious feeling to wake up in the morning and see The Heads from bed. My reversing with the car was tested to the limit in the parking area because there were so many visitors.

The unit was dirty and there is not a daily cleaning service. Our unit was cleaned once during the week. The owner did mention upon our arrival that there is no cleaning service. There was a lot of mold in the bathroom and the shower did not drain. The towels are so thin, old and hard, you can almost see through them. The unit's furniture, faucets, kitchen, etc. were very old fashioned and not cared for. The WiFi that was advertised did not work at all. The wardrobe was in the kitchen and very small, dirty and smelled like mold. The kitchen cupboard doors are falling off and the cupboards stink. The fridge does not work properly and is also full of mould. The knives, forks, spoons, etc. are not one set. There were also almost no glass drinking glasses. The plastic glasses were dirty though. We mentioned to the owner that the shear was broken and she said it was just there for grading. The knives were incredibly blunt. The king size bed mattress was old and uncomfortable and the pillows were very uneven. There is no DStv as advertised, just SABC and whatever the owners were watching, which was not always suitable for children. Our neighbors were incredibly close and we could hear everything because there is only a closed door between our unit and theirs. Other guests felt they could use our braai area and made a noise and a mess until almost midnight. The worst part of our stay was upon our arrival when the owner accused us of owing her money. We paid the full amount 3 weeks before our stay there. She made us feel very unwelcome. She did not apologize and was very confused.
Paradise Heads was average at best. Much can be improved in terms of bedding, cutlery as well as sound insulation. The bedding was clean but very old and neglected. The cutlery is a collection of random knives, forks, plates and cups. The chalets are prefab wall to prefab wall, so the sound insulation is not very good, and the wooden floors add to the sound that draws. If you have trouble sleeping, you won't be able to close an eye especially if you have neighbors like we had. The parking is also a problem and space can become limited if there are many guests. The location is good and close to everything in Knysna, but unfortunately it doesn't make up for the rest.
From Monday to Friday no bed linen is changed, no cleaning service for the whole week and if you want to clean yourself the stuff is not available, you have to go and ask. There was no emergency notification with emergency numbers etc. There was no portfolio sheet or book describing services, entertainment or anything like that. The reception door is always closed with doors and gates. It makes you feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. The unit was dirty and there were a lot of spiders and insects, we had to go and buy remedies to control them ourselves. Apart from the location and beautiful view, I give the service a zero.
There is only a two plate stove and microwave. Very cramped and not much space to prepare something for dinner. We just went to visit a restaurant.
