49 guests' feedbackThis was one of our best trips to Mabalingwe. A lot of animals visited us every day and we enjoyed the location of the house.
Yes, had a nice stay! Would only suggest mirrors in bedrooms as they are so spacious. However, one room had a dressing table and we all blew our hair there.
Never used even a single facility from the lodge. The recommended place when we evacuated because of the fire was not up to standard and none of us liked it.
Beautiful mid-week break in Mabalingwe. Everything you need.
We loved the spacious house, big kitchen and en suite-bathrooms. 5 couples, lots of game, and beautiful bush. Will gladly visit again.
Yes, stay was very good.
We were a group of 8 adults. Had a great stay. Very spacious house and bedrooms. Not sure what it's like at other times of the year, but the late afternoon sun baked us out; so from 3 o'clock you could not sit on the stoep at all. Was just too hot, with the sun shining directly in there. We were lucky to be visited by elephants on 2 nights. House has everything needed.
Was very nice, better than I expected.
The house is very nicely designed with 5 en suite rooms and a spacious kitchen and porch. Paradise Lodge was perfect for our purposes this weekend. We really enjoyed and appreciated the rich bird life and the wildlife that comes right up to the house. We would book there again anytime.
We had the most amazing time at Paradise Lodge. There is ample room, each bedroom is en suite and most have an additional single bed in the room making it convenient for families. The house was in immaculate condition with more than enough cutlery and crockery. And the hosts were extremely prompt when messaged during the stay which we appreciated. We will definitely be back!
Overall very good for a large group. Unfortunately, the air conditioning in the honeymoon suite was dripping onto the bed, and there was no satellite TV. Otherwise, the kitchen was fully equipped, and we had a wonderful stay.
As a group of 8 people, we had a wonderful time there. Very spacious rooms and rooms. Neat and clean. All arrangements were fulfilled and we were able to enjoy the few days without any problems. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. Will visit there again for sure.
Wonderful accommodation. We wouldn't have survived without the aircon so that was unreal. The house is very well stocked, you don't need to bring a thing! We will be back without a doubt!
We had such a lovely stay here. Everything you need is there and the animals that come to visit is just amazing.
Wi-Fi signal was a bit slow and jumps a bit.
We enjoyed the time very much. The house is spacious and tidy! Home away from home!
The house is nice big and spacious. Everything you need and the views from all the verandas are fantastic. Warthogs come into the house. The game viewing vehicle was a bonus.
House needs some maintenance, power plugs are loose etc. The cleaning ladies do not have very good customer interaction. We were still busy with breakfast when they started washing things and cleaning. Could have waited for us to finish eating.
Can only speak highly of the home - it's luxurious enough not to make you want to go back home, nice and spacious and fully equipped. Washing machine, dishwasher and all the other usual household appliances were available. Wildlife around the lodge included warthogs, wild boars, muskellunge cats, kudus and various bird species. Really enjoyed it and can fully recommend it.
The warthogs are very cunning so be careful. Furthermore, there are no other safety issues.
Very pleasant stay - Paradise Lodge is a lovely, open-plan, spacious home with a wonderful view.
Our children and grandchildren enjoyed it immensely. The animals are very tame around the house and Mabalingwe offers a variety of activities for young and old.
Neat rooms and kitchen with everything needed.
Our house helper was very helpful. She is the best. The house had everything we needed. The beds and bathrooms are great.
Upon our arrival we saw buffalo and warthogs at the house. No fans/air conditioning below. Can get quite hot. Rooms have air conditioning which was very nice. Very nice house.
Very special home in the woods! Comfortable with everything you need. The coffee maker was a bonus. Could really experience nature and wildlife without driving a step. Some of the birdlife, warthogs, giraffes and even kudus were exceptional! Will definitely recommend.
The house has a fantastic view and beds are comfortable with air conditioning in rooms. The children from 10 years to 17 years thoroughly enjoyed it. There is also a snooker table which provided hours of fun. Cute animals come to visit the porch.
A very spacious house that is well equipped for a large group of people. The animals that come so close to the house are a wonderful bonus. Everything you need for a pleasant stay. All that came up short was an iron!
What an amazing place to break away to with family or friends. Beautiful sunsets over the woodland while you sit quietly on the stoep or around the boma with all kinds of goats and warthogs that come to visit on your front stoop. Spacious rooms and living areas, didn't even feel like we were 10 people staying in the same house. By far exceeded my expectations. Friendly service and top class facilities. Would recommend Paradise Lodge to anyone.
Our children came for the first time in 7 years with our grandchildren to South Africa. We wanted them to have a bush experience. And it was absolutely magic at Paradise Lodge and Mabalingwe. The house is spacious and luxurious. We lived on the verandas and the animals that came to visit were more than we could wish for. The private swimming pool was absolutely a blissful necessity. And the sun seeking Londoners loved every minute of our stay. Thank you Leen for your personal involvement with our booking and our stay. It was worth it. Lasting experience of a lifetime.
Our stay as a family started off with a warm welcome by friendly guards and was completely hassle free. Once we had navigated our way to our beautiful home we where received by a family of warthogs. This came as a pleasant surprise as we had read before we booked, that it's possible to see them around the yard. The house is spacious and is equipped with all the utensils you could possibly need. It is perfectly situated with breath-taking views of the landscape, animals and your neighbours are nearby which is reassuring. Later on in our stay we realised that we had a herd of impala's, the warthogs and meerkat that stayed around the house at night. Our stay was wonderfully tranquil with the sounds of birds. Our favourite part was the ability to choose to take drive around the game reserve on our own or to go on a game drive. We did both. You need to have a vehicle that can handle the terrain but other than that driving was an adventure filled with excitement and we even ended up in the middle of a herd of giraffe of which no words can explain!
One with nature.
It had been a very nice and peaceful weekend. The house was very nice and clean with all the amenities you need. Rooms nice and spacious and big. Has the most beautiful view and enjoyed the visit on the stoep every day. Warthogs, impalas, kudus and nyalas often came to drink water. Will definitely want to visit there again. Thank you very much, Leen.
It was very nice. Will definitely go there again.
It's a beautiful house with a lovely view of the woodland. The rooms are nice and spacious and the rooms are also nice and big. All that was not made clear is that the 5th bedroom is outside the house with its own porch and entrance. Furthermore, we had a great time and enjoyed the forest
A peaceful lodge with quite a lot of wild animals that came to visit. Would definitely recommend this lodge for a peaceful getaway!
We had a good stay and will certainly do it again! The rooms are nice, big and clean. It's quiet and the game comes to the house to drink water. Wonderful place!
It was such a nice weekend. The house is nice and clean, big and equipped with everything we needed! The furniture and decor are all so beautifully matched and everything was just nice and comfortable. It is also big enough for a large group and you are not in each other's way all the time. Can't wait for us to visit again! The animals also surprised us in the mornings and late afternoons when they curiously came to see what was going on. Leen was also very helpful and all information was sent to us in good time! Thanks Leen, can't wait until we visit again.
Nice and big house, very well equipped. Will definitely go there again!
We really enjoyed the weekend! Paradise Lodge was a neat, spacious house and I would recommend it to a group of 10.
It was a beautiful house with an even better view! Everything was well looked after and works perfectly. We all thoroughly enjoyed the place and we will most definitely go back for our next Lads weekend! I highly recommend this place to anyone! Best part is having warthogs around the house all day! It was worth every cent!
Our family of 8, including two teenagers aged 14 and 17, could not locate available accommodation with a swimming pool on the coast over the Christmas period. We then decided on the interior and did not regret it for a moment. The most peaceful area of Mabalingwe near Bela-Bela was the choice. The location of the house has views 'forever' from anywhere in the house, coupled with sunsets, literally every night, that you cannot do justice to trying to capture with a camera. The house itself is incredibly spacious with the 5 bedrooms, all en suite and the living areas big enough to play hide and seek. All the necessary amenities are there, including a dishwasher, although I don't think there was a washing machine that I could see. We were only there for 4 nights, so it wasn't really necessary. Would love to go back and have already recommended the house to other family members! The wild animals that come to the house, mostly warthogs, baboons, etc. throughout the day, deserves a special place. We bought a whole 10 kg bag of carrots for the warthogs in Bela. We were even more surprised by a visit from a nyalaram who walked right up to us in the dark for a carrot when we were still sitting in the dark one evening after a braai. You can't believe antelopes can become so tame! Wonderful, calming paradise in the Bushveld!
We had such a nice stay in the beautiful house! The rooms are spacious and there is more than enough room for 3 families and children. Leen was very helpful and friendly! It really is good value for money.
See stars.
Dit is 'n fantastiese huis! Die afwerkings is awesome. Dit is baie stil en rustig. Ons het baie diere gesien terwyl ons daar was. Ek sal definitief teruggaan.
It is a nice and relaxing establishment with all that you require for a weekend away with friends. Leen, the owner, was very helpful and reachable at all time for anything we needed. I will would recommend to anyone who wants a refreshing and relaxing weekend at a nature reserve.
Loved the view from the lodge. The house is amazing. Will definitely go back in the future!
It's a lovely, modern, large living house. Spacious rooms with literally everything you need. We only had a water problem on the first day which spoiled things a bit. Everything was clean and tidy.
Beautiful, newly built place. Large rooms and lovely views. We were a bit disappointed because we specifically booked because of the en suite bathroom in each bedroom. Unfortunately only two of the bathrooms had water, so 10 people had to use 2 bathrooms. The owner's phone was switched off when we tried to call him and he didn't reply to my email. For the price you pay, you'd expect to be given what you've been promised. Otherwise we had an enjoyable stay. If the mentioned problems could be solved, we'd definitely recommend Paradise Lodge.
