22 guests' feedbackWe had a lovely time and the accommodation was superb!
The house which feels like a home away from home is nestled up on the hillside overlooking the beautiful landscape Mabalingwe has to offer. The sunsets are spectacular and the Jacuzzi an braai area is located perfectly to take in the views and watch the wildlife go about their business. We got to see rhinos, giraffes and other wildlife roaming around not far from the house. Thank you Johan and Clarissa for letting us stay in your amazing home, we will be back for sure!
Neat, comfortable, great vacation.
Our new favourite bushveld getaway spot. Thank you, we had an amazing time at your lodge and we will definitely visit again!
Very nice house and well equipped. The only problem is the water pressure, a bath tap takes a damn long time and of course this also affects the showers, you can hardly use them. Owner will have to definitely pay attention to this as e.g. a pressure pump. The cell phone signal in and around Mabalingwe is very weak compared to the past, if you want to get away great, but if you need or expect connectivity you will be disappointed. Maybe WiFi at the unit would help a lot.
Would appreciate it if cleaners don't arrive before check-out time while you're still packing up.
Beautiful and easy to access with small cars. Stunning views and a wonderful place to stay with a small group of people.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Paruware Lodge. The view is incredibly beautiful! We will definitely want to come and visit again and just stay another day longer!
Paruware is conveniently located near the Kwalata camp in Mabalingwe. The road to the house is easily driveable with a Sedan or larger vehicle. Unfortunately, the braai area's chimney "weathercock" does not turn. This makes fire and grilling more difficult as the chimney does not "draw". Especially if there is a west wind. The inner fireplace's "weathercock" does turn but makes an infernal noise in the evening. It is advertised that there is parking for 4 cars. Unfortunately, this is not correct as the owners' own "game viewer" vehicle occupies 2 parking spaces. Unfortunately, the vehicle is also not available for an additional fee as the brakes seem to be out of order. It would then be better if the owners took the vehicle away. In this way, one can park 4 vehicles in the parking lot. The jacuzzi is very old and unfortunately cannot be compared to the photo. A dark mark is visible all around. The house is well equipped for 8 people with more than enough plates, glasses etc. Overall, the unit is suitable for 8 people and you can stay and visit very comfortably.
The bedding was not in line with the rest of the experience. The top beds did not have duvets just throws. The Jacuzzi is divine but takes 6 hours from filling to usage the 1st time not 3 as stated. Thereafter it's about 2 hours to warm up daily.
Wondering what the "cleaning fee" is charged for? The bath in the master bedroom was dirty - not cleaned for a long time. Braai was dirty. Plates were dirty and greasy. The Jacuzzi was dirty - had a brown circle around it and sand inside. The kitchen was under water a. g. f. a burst pipe which was understandably beyond the control of the owner, but if the place had been cleaned the day before or during the week cleaners would have seen it for sure. Couldn't use the place at all because the plumbers were busy all Saturday with the pipes that had to be cut out in the kitchen. We only stayed one night to celebrate a birthday but wish we had stayed at home instead.
Place was extremely dirty, fridge for placing our food in was dirty, dead bugs all over the place, the toilet was not flushed, Jacuzzi was not working even though I asked before I made my booking. Lights inside and outside not working. The kitchen floor was not washed and you stepped into other people's dirt. The place inside is dated, and the photos online are overselling the place. Phoned the the owner to complain on the Friday evening and they did not even bother sending someone to clean the place and fix the stuff that was not working on the Saturday.
Beautiful place, nicely equipped with everything and what not! Quiet place and saw many animals. Will definitely go again.
Thank you very much for the stay, we as a family enjoyed it very much. Had fun in the bushveld and the kudus came to visit. Amazing sunset and view.
See stars.
We really enjoyed it and will definitely book again!
Unbelievably nice house, with the best view of the forest. Then there are daily visitors who come to visit, such as Mr. and Mrs. Rock Jumper, all the kudu cousins and of course the piggies. We can't wait to visit again.
The jacuzzi was very dirty though. It was also not cleaned when the person came to fill it for us.
Everyone enjoyed the weekend incredibly and definitely want to do it again.
We were a family of 6 adults (my husband, my two daughters and their husbands with my granddaughter). The upstairs sleeping arrangements are challenging to manoeuvre up and down as there is no bathroom so the guests in the other rooms have to share the bathrooms which is not always pleasant for the couple sleeping upstairs. The stairs going up to the bedroom is somewhat dangerous. I would prefer a three bedroom lodge on the same level and more hangers in the cupboards.
The children especially enjoyed the family of warthogs that came to investigate near the house. Very special!
Had a great time.
