This accommodation was more expensive than our other accommodation, did not match the increase in cost, and is in need of an upgrade. It is disappointing in terms of attention to detail.
The place was not very clean. We had to rewash the cups and pots as they were dirty. The toilet was leaking, causing the floor to be constantly wet. The electrical connection is poor, as wires and plugs were lying on the floor. The walls of the room and kitchen were not clean, with lots of dirty marks; they need a fresh coat of paint. The towels in the bathroom were old, but luckily we brought our own. We were provided with only 2 half toilet rolls, which is not acceptable considering we stayed for 3 nights. Fortunately, we brought our own. The place needs a thorough clean. There was too much noise as the house is close to the main road; we could hear people having parties until the early hours of the morning.
Cute place to visit, neat and comfortable for 4 people (2 couples), centrally located, within walking distance of the beach, shops and The Noisy Oyster restaurant has delicious food.

The owners were nice but didn't expect us to arrive on the day we booked so there was some confusion. The one room had rain damage so one of us had to stay in another part of the building, that room was nice and clean and well set up. The amber unit bed and bathroom were small and a little dusty with no place to store your stuff. There was a spider in my towel. The beds were good, firm and clean. Had a comfortable sleep. The fireplace area was lovely. Bring extra wood. The location is good, walking distance to beach, restaurant and shops. Overall we did have a comfortable stay.

Was amazing holiday, was my honeymoon.
The impression we received on reception was not very friendly. Still, everything was shown to us and our first impressions were, it looks like a worker's room. However, everything was clean and tidy and we slept well. The room is well located and we were soon able to find our feet. Paternoster has the feel of a fisherman's village and the people we met at the shops were friendly. There weren't many flowers, but we were surprised with the village itself.
The bed definitely needs to be replaced. Braai facilities not sufficient, single gas braai unit.
No, for the very small room we stayed in, with no place to put down our bags, no place to store our clothes, no place to put down our toiletries. No safe parking either.
The room we were given was clearly an old outbuilding (probably a store room) which had been renovated. The bedroom was about 2,5 m x 2,5 m with a double bed in the middle and a tiny table with coffee station in a corner. The door opened right onto the bed, so not much privacy. The bathroom was very small, with a toilet, shower and the tiniest basin I have ever seen. About 30 cm wide. Although the room was clean, we were very disappointed that it was nowhere near to the rooms advertised on the website. When checking out the next morning, there were not staff about to hand the key to. Advert very deceiving.

We stayed in the Amber Annex and really enjoyed our stay. The unit has everything you need, provided you don't plan to cook at home and was very clean. Paternoster Place in general is very pretty with beautiful succulents and a very cute garden.

I felt that the crockery and cutlery etc. in the accommodation was outdated. The accommodation was set for 3 persons, eg. cups, glasses etc. The cupboards in the kitchen smelled a bit of mould. Other than that we had a pleasant stay at Paternoster place.

We got a free upgrade from the Amber Annexure to the Amber room and the facility was excellent. The hostess and host were very friendly and of their own accord offered the upgrade to another large room without additional compensation. The place was particularly clean and tidy and had everything needed in the kitchen. We will definitely be using Paternoster Place again in the future.

We loved our stay at Paternoster Place, we would definitely go back there. It was in the perfect spot, as the beach is only a 2 min walk away, as well as to anywhere else we needed to go.
The Annex (flat outside) is clean and neat, equipped with working appliances. Lovely and quiet, close to the beach and Voorstrand Restaurant, withing walking distance to all shops. Really a nice little place.
Paternoster Place is very central and within walking distance from the beach and restaurants. The units are beautifully furnished and the decor gives it a lovely atmosphere. The garden is also beautiful. The WiFi didn't work unfortunately and the bathroom has no ventilation which is a little negative, but I am sure something can be done about it.
We were given another unit which we were informed was much better. It was very nice but was a middle unit without windows.

Had a lovely stay at Paternoster Place in the Layla Unit. Was clean, with everything we needed. Braai area was nice and sheltered from the howling South Easter. There are other places to stay closer to the beach or with better views but they probably cost an arm and a leg.

Greek atmosphere but Spartan kitchen. Warm reception, but toilet bowl was leaky and there was a constant dripping noise above the ceiling in the bedroom - the geyser leaked into a reservoir, basically made sleep impossible. Some of the other units in the complex are better. If I come here again it would definitely be to a different unit since this one was very cramped and I had trouble with the drawers of the ancient furniture. And the door of the old cupboard wouldn't close properly. No sharp knife available for bread and veggies.
The bed we slept on was very nice. Our welcome was not very nice. Feels like host is more interested in her own things than her guests. Unfortunately we didn't have hot water either, but the problem was fixed.
We basically only slept there, had no hot water for a shower in the morning as we were leaving (around 08h00 the morning). Had to drive to our next destination to have a hot shower, which wasn't pleasant.
It was neat, clean and modern and friendly and professional. I would vacation there again anytime. If you're looking for value for money, then Paternoster Place is the place. It is centrally located - only 3 minutes walk from the sea! And it is absolutely so beautiful and clean - you feel right at home. Paternoster Place is highly recommended and offers value for money. The milk in the fridge was a lifesaver because there were no after-hours shops open during load shedding. The owners are some of the original residents of Paternoster and are available if help or information is needed.

The apartment's decor is very nice, but there are a few things lacking. In the bathroom there is no place inside the shower to store any soap, shampoo etc. (rack), and the shower was not very clean! The hooks that were there (3) for the towels were loose, and no floor mats in front of the shower or bath. The bedroom carpet is dirty (full of stains), and the quality of the pillows and duvet cover is very poor. Kitchen cupboards inside smell musty, and the pots and pans were dirty (with old food marks). There is no place to hang a dishcloth, and the kitchen utensils have seen better days. May need to be replaced - as are the pans. The shelves were full of dust where the cups and glasses were, and the kitchen table was not properly cleaned either.
Nice stay, but even though the accommodation is self-catering, there is no sink to wash dishes in. The TV was not working and the owner was not available to fix it. Furthermore, it was very convenient.
'Amber' is located close to everything you need. We were pleasantly surprised when we saw the unit. Neat, clean and tastefully furnished. The braai area is convenient and great for when the wind blows. Staff were very friendly and very helpful in making us comfortable.
We really enjoyed it, everything was nice and clean and will definitely stay there again as well as refer friends there. Very safe environment and our two Yorkies enjoyed it just as much. Really had a nice time there.

Paternoster is definitely the jewel of the west coast. The white houses with all the fishing boats in the bay take you away to a place of romance and tranquility. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for something different from your normal commercial holiday destinations. If you really use your imagination, you can easily be carried away to a Greek island feeling with the white sea sand and the white fishermen's houses plastered all around the blue waters of the bay.

The living unit was spacious and tidy and the braai area sheltered. All criticism: Although the car was not parked on the street, miscreants would not have had a problem causing damage. However, bars would have detracted so much from the character of Paternoster that it would not be an option.

The Amber Unit comprises 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The first bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower while the second bedroom contains a double bed. This unit also has a fireplace.
The Layla Unit can accommodate 4 guests and has a bedroom furnished with a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath and a shower. There are 2 single beds in the lounge area and a separate guest toilet as well.
Each unit has a kitchen is equipped with a fridge, microwave, stove as well as tea-and-coffee-making facilities.
